About

Willow Lake Park is a family owned and operated campground. We offer a variety of activities that families can enjoy. Come and spend the day fishing in the lake for a great catch, maybe take a dip in the pool on a hot day. Afterwards you can grab an ice cream cone at the snack bar.

We are just 10 minutes from the highway that provides easy access for large RVs and trailers. Just two turns off state highway 71 and you are here. Close to area attraction, shopping and golfing. Our friendly staff is here to help you.

Bring your RV and hook up to electric and water or pitch a tent on one of our primitive sites. Sit back and have a relaxing evening by the fire. We have event filled planned weekend activities for the whole family. Check out our event calendar for more details.

Just want to get out for a day. Come have a picnic, hamburgers on a charcoal grill, let the kids swim and play in the sand while you soak up the sun. We have pavilion rentals for larger groups, contact us for more details.

Seems like a good deal, but with extra charges

This was a nice spot with lots of family activities. Lots were pretty large and well maintained. But this is more of a local hangout with a ton of permanent spots. There aren’t any signs to follow to lead you to the campground. I prepaid in full with no refund because it was a holiday weekend. They don’t have the technology to email you a confirmation or receipt, so you either have to hope they have your reservation or call ahead to confirm. Never did get a copy of my receipt. They have a bunch of rules about visitors, and charge you for every single person (yes, there is a person at the gate checking passes!). Permanent residents were racing through the campground on their golf carts and blaring music. I was disappointed we didn’t get a full hook-up site, only to find out they don’t have any (and this is a large campground!). But, for a prepaid fee, you can schedule an appointment to have someone come by and dump you out. I overheard our neighbors say they would never stay there again, so I asked what their experience had been. They complained about the loud neighbors, charges for visitors (had to pay $70 for one day!), and they paid for a dump but the person never showed up. For such a large campground they only have two bathroom spots. Bathrooms by the pool were full of sand and flies, and could have been better stocked.

Not what we were hoping for

I was going to leave a bad review, but that's not really fair. I'm sure this place is pretty great on the weekends and we weren't here for a long time, just here for a good time.

In short, 90% of the place is filled with seasonally permanent campers. There's a small section where they cater to short-timers. The place has mostly been a ghost town all week (Sunday through Wednesday), but it's full of people's rigs. I think a lot of folks come out from Cleveland and spend the weekend here.

The playground was good for the kids. The grounds are well maintained. There's a good-sized fishing pond and a separate swimming pond. They have an arcade here that looks fine, but it was locked up the entire time we were here. That's probably a good thing; I'm sure it saved us some jing.

I'm not sure what's up with the water, but it smells like metal and you're probably better off bringing your own drinking water. The showers were kind of gross, but not the worst. My drain didn't seem to work at all and the entire shower stall flooded.  I had to dry off and get dressed in the main bathroom area, so I guess I was glad it was a ghost town that day.

I want to complain about not having sewer hookups and laundry, but that's not fair. Their website is accurate. It seems there are multiple "Willow lake park" results that come up and I might have thought I booked a different one when we planned out this 3-month trip. That's fine; I'll do the laundry at the next one!

The sites themselves are fine. Nice and level with a firepit.

Nice spot

The owners are making tremendous improvements to this campground. We visited 7 years ago and said we would never go back. Had some friends that stayed there tell us about new ownership right about the time Covid hit. We opted to get a permanent site (Base for travels). We have seen many major improvements from the pavilion with bands every Saturday night, plenty of events for kids, the shanty shake being removed, newer R.V. under 15 years old, new fencing, siding on buildings, bathroom upgrades. I think they are working on water lines and I'm hoping they get city water.

Just OK

Staff is very courteous and campground was usually pretty quiet with a large open field to walk dogs. The majority of the campground is full time residents with DIY add ons that are falling apart. The “pool” is a part cement, part sand hole filled with blue-green water. The bathrooms and showers smell of rust and are not very clean. I would never send my kids in there to shower, let’s put it that way. As we were leaving, we went to the dump station and found it was clogged and overflowing. No full hookups as indicated on some search sites.

Comfortable and Near R&R Hall of Fame and Cuyahoga National Park

New owners for the last 4 years. Busy upgrading from previous owner. Very nice and accommodating. Truck camping and caught them early in the season and after rains the sites were kind of wet. Cold showers free, $0.50 for 5 minutes of hot water. I chose the latter. Bath house was clean but dated. Owners are making improvements all the time. Verizon 3 bars 5G. I was on site G24. Elec. box had 3 extension cord outlets. The water, while I'm sure was fine, had an odor to it so I didn't partake.
