What You Should Know
Mud and drainage issues: Several campgrounds experience seasonal drainage challenges. At Monroe County Webster Park, one camper notes, "our site was muddy and numerous sites around us were muddy, too. There was standing water in the road way." Plan accordingly during rainy periods.
Campsite leveling: Not all sites provide level camping surfaces. At Red's Twilight on the Erie RV Resort, "Almost all of the sites are not even close to level. Not a big issue with a fifth wheel but a real hassle with a motorcoach," reports Donna C.
Limited cell service: Communication may be unreliable at some locations. One camper at Webster Park mentioned, "Cell phone coverage is poor by Verizon and T-Mobile, and there is no WiFi, and no camp store (but the town of Webster is nearby)."

Safety considerations: Many pet-friendly campgrounds near Henrietta enforce strict speed limits. At Red's Twilight on the Erie RV Resort, "The speed limit is 5 MPH and they mean it.... Kids on bikes and having a good time in the enormous play area," notes Rachel T.

Site selection advice: When booking at Hamlin Beach State Park Campground, consider site privacy. "The sites in the loop we stayed in had about 75' between driveways, all with varying levels of trees/brush between them, very secluded," explains Benjamin C.
