KOA Canandaigua/Rochester NY: (Scale 1- bad, 5-Very good (70 yr olds in 17’ trailer). I rate based on desire for at least a moderate wilderness type experience w at least some camp site privacy. Overall Rating: for a KOA :4 - see map for nicest sites. Price 2023: $61 for a 30 amp site Usage during visit: Light - off season Site Privacy: Our site : None Site Spacing: Close Site surface: Gravel and grass Reservations: They take reservations- Recommend the KOA app Campground Noise: Quiet during our stay. I haven't stayed in a KOA before because they have so many amenities I don't use. I'm a birder and my tent site here is next to a little grove of trees where I counted 12 species of birds this morning. The bathrooms are very clean and the women working the desk could not have been more helpful.

We’ve grown to depend on KOAs on our cross country road trips and have stayed at many. This is the nicest one we’ve stayed at. Pool was great. Bathrooms were very clean and well maintained. Our gravel site had a nice shady tree and well maintained grass and fire pit. Cleanliness is my top priority and this place gets an A+.

Our first KOA stop, so can't compare to other KOAs, but this place has a good number of family activities and events. Our 3 and 5 year olds really enjoyed the jump pad and woods obstacles. We lucked out with a nice private site in the back. The sites here for the most part are lacking in privacy. Canandaigua is a really cool little town too and has a beautiful lakefront park with beach and playground, only ten minutes from this campground. The water in Lake Canandaigua was very clear! A pleasant place to spend the night.

We spent father's day weekend at the KOA. Our kids rented cabins and some used tents and others came for the day. The campground has do much to do between swimming, golf , bike and paddle boat rentals. There's Ziplines with treetop walk and a bounce. And even a play area for your dogs.

We've stayed at a lot of KOA sites over the years and this one is as pleasant as expected. It is an excellent campground for families. The sites for large rigs are very close together but that is not surprising. Our site was clean and reasonably level but there was no shade at all. We were comfortable, though, after putting out the awning and setting up our portable gazebo.

The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and came by our site twice to see if we needed anything, which was an unnecessary but pleasant surprise.

This KOA has all that you need for a relaxing family trip. It is close to the finger lakes, is clean, has kid activities and a pond where the fish are easy to catch with hotdogs!
