GuideI took my skoolie there, and I thought we were supposed to park near the cabin, however, it's the part to the left of the cabin that we are supposed to camp at. The website actually forbids anybody camping around the cabin, so you need to use the campsites directly to the west, where there's a bunch of piers, sites, and bathrooms. We drove down 322nd Rd. to get to our site near the bathrooms across from the maintenance building. That road is gradual enough that I was able to get my short bus down it safely without tipping over.
The management guy here is pretty cool and he let me know that it's a 7 day stay not 14 hung out and pet my dog and talked to me for a little bit. That was pretty nice.

TravelerThis site was easy to find and had a beautiful view of the lake! There is a brochure available online to help find the designated camping areas! We were the only people in the area we parked at! It even had a privy to use for the bathroom!
RangerThe sites are well spaced and there is a variety of dry and full service. The bathroom and shower facilities are a little disappointing. When I checked out the shower room there was a huge pool of water between the door and the showers. The drains had become clogged again which seems to be an issue in Clinton State park. People are really friendly though. We decided to stay in Prairie Clover just due to the shower/washing situation. We found a really nice full service site with tree shade throughout the day, but not too dense. There's a ton of butterflies around here too.
RangerLots of dry sites we liked. Stayed 6 nights through the weekend as a first come first serve basis. As such we found it difficult to understand the Kansas State park booking and permits system. You can buy day or yearly permits. You can book online a minimum of 2 days in advance with reserve America. The best shower/bath room is near the entrance to prairie clover in the SE corner. Some of the doors are hard to lock, the drains are plugged. It's really hit and miss. Katie in the park office saved us as newbies. There's a camp host at Prairie Clover campground.
RangerThe road in was dusty but very well maintained. There were 2 fire pits and several picnic tables in a grassy area and an outhouse. There was also a pole bar onsite, possibly for windmill maintenance.
TravelerWe're the only ones camping here. Some people come to fish during the day but it's dead at night. Clean pit toilets. Will definitely be back.
TravelerWe switched from site 46 to site 53 as it was far more level and fairly private since it abutted woods. Campground host was really friendly in greeting us and accommodating our request to change sites. Sparkling clean showers and lovely grounds.
