Riverfront Park Campground

Accessible by vehicle with no special clearance requirements, Riverfront Park Campground provides 20-dollar overnight stays along the Missouri River in Leavenworth. The municipal facility accommodates RVs up to 45 feet with electric and water hookups, plus a dump station for self-contained units. Reservations are available through the city system.

Sites sit directly beside the Missouri River, offering immediate access for fishing and kayaking. The campground operates seasonally, closing October 31st each year. Train tracks run adjacent to the camping area, with locomotives passing multiple times throughout day and night hours. Aaron L. notes that "morning time was very nice with fog on the water and tons of birds chirping."

Each site includes a picnic table and fire pit, with flush toilets and shower facilities housed in a recently updated bathhouse. Sites are closely spaced but provide adequate room for most camping setups. The campground's location offers views of the nearby bridge spanning the Missouri River.

For campers planning extended stays in the region, Weston Bend State Park Campground lies northeast across the river. Access requires crossing railroad tracks, so visitors should expect periodic train noise when selecting this location for light sleepers.

Campers appreciated the clean facilities, shaded riverside sites, and friendly hosts. Train noise from adjacent tracks affects some visitors more than others. Great location for river access and activities.

Nice basic campground, really close to train tracks

The campground is nice, small and has all the basics - picnic tables, fire pits, flush toilets and showers. It sits right on the river and has a nice view of the bridge. You have to cross train tracks to get there and the campsites are right next to it. The train came through 3 times through the night and 5 more times while making breakfast. So just be prepared it might be loud depending on what you’re sleeping in. Closes for the season on 10/31.

Very calm campgrounf with an amazing view

Although the camping spots are very close together, it was very quiet and we still had plenty of space. The lakeside spots are definitely the way to go at this campground, bathrooms were very clean aswell

Beautiful site, Small CG

Was a little worried coming thru neighborhood into CG area but ended up not being an issue. Campground is close to bridge but not with a crazy amount of traffic also close to railroad. Trains do come day and night but once in our class b camper didn’t notice any noise. Morning time was very nice with fog on the water and tons of birds chirping . Bathrooms seemed brand new …very clean . Would stay again

A great spot for boaters

If you enjoy boating, particularly boating on the Missouri River, this campground is an ideal location. Located on the western banks of the river and the eastern edge of Leavenworth, it provides easy access to the river for fishing and boating. Spots and shaded and thus generally cool. This is a great place to relax after a day on the river and to cook up the day's catch, or it is easy to access the city and dine at one of its many restaurants.
