"Petes Lake is a great campground tucked in the Hiawatha National Forest. The campground is located about 15 minutes south of Munising. "
"One interesting thing is that there are information plaques around camp giving you something to learn as you walk through camp. We’ve never seen this before- it’s a nice touch."

Husband and I just got back from stay here for two nights. We loved it and can’t wait to return! The hosts were amazing and made us feel very welcome/cared for. The vault toilets were very clean and well maintained. No showers at this park but we had our own with us.
Our campsite was very clean when we arrived to setup camp and the hosts make sure each site looks fabulous before new individuals arrive. Lots of chipmunks in camp that were super cute. Sites aren’t to close to one another so you feel separate but together.
There is a beach and boat launch near. We went there to chase the northern lights but missed it by a night. 😭
We kayaked Au Train River and stood in the Au Train falls. The bird watch site at camp was amazing as well. Don’t skip out on Pictured Rocks either.
Can’t wait for next year so we can return!
RangerWe camped here while visiting the upper peninsula. We loved Marquette and this campground made a great home base. It’s close to everything. We camped in the upper loop which had spacious sites and clean bathrooms but no sewer hook ups. The lower full hook up loop looked a little cramped. The hot tub was nice after hiking 11 miles in pictured rocks. Would definitely recommend this campground.

ScoutThis is a great spot, very private and easy to access. T-Mobile cell services was very good. I would warn though that the mosquitoes were pretty bad when we visited. Would still recommend for a quick stop over.
GuideI loved coming here. We tent camp and stayed in spot 1 and had great privacy being so close to the office. They had complimentary bikes you could use, fire wood and ice for sale, very very clean bathrooms, and the campground is smaller but with large sites. Laundry facility, vending machines, oh and large showers! Highly recommend it.
GuideHas showers and nice facilities. Fairly busy and there was a constant smell of exhaust from an unknown source. The trash bin is quite a trek from some spots. Beware is sneaky seagulls!
RangerTook a chance of finding a spot here in June and there was a cancellation with a waterfront spot for one night. We loved location and moved to overflow for 2 more nights. Private beach was cold but we got in every day. Campsite was about 3 minutes from Munising, super convenient to go to laundry mat and grocery. We explored area, kayaked Pictured Rocks, hiked Miners Falls (relaxing 1 mile with ability to get down to water), could have stayed longer ….grest area!
