Best RV Parks & Resorts near Wetmore, MI

This centrally-located campground was a decent spot for RVers. It looked to be fairly new: impeccable and level sites, well-spaced out, and full hook-ups. Wifi and AT&T service was good, though we didn't use much. There were no trees to speak of, which made it hot, but it cooled down nice enough at night. Was very quiet. Definitely appealed to an older clientele, as there were no playgrounds, trails, etc, but the kids stumbled upon a sand dune just off the main stretch of campsites. Not sure if they were *supposed* to be there, but a little playing in the dirt can't hurt, right?!

An awesome campground tucked away in the U.P. Big rig access(46’ 5th wheel). Nice concrete pads, full hook up and cable. The staff is great and helpful. Secluded and quiet.

The full hook up sites along the lake are great. The beach is right behind your site. good water pressure. The sites are smaller in width than some places but make up for it in length.

Nice site. Lake across the road. Quiet. Sites have full hook ups. Host is friendly! But it was $69 for one night and he said it’s $79 on wknds. Other campgrounds around the area - may check those out next time.

This is a new park still under construction lots of flat gravel spaces. They’re all pull through with full hook ups. Is close to a golf course and a casino in the city of Marquette. Nothing fancy nice new bathrooms.

We have been camping every Labor Day at Marquette Tourist Park for about 8 years. We come up from the mid Michigan area for Marquette’s Blues Fest. This park is set in a beautiful area around the Northern University. Some sites have full hook up that we love, but this year we didn’t reserve early enough to get one. The site we are on is #2 and it’s very nice, facing the water. It has water and electric and a great big tree for shade. We love Marquette, it’s our “Happy Place”.

Nice, clean, quiet right on the lake. Full hookups, level sites and lots of room for large gatherings at the party pit. A short drive to Marquette.

Jack's Pine Lodge was an amazing neat little campground. They only have about two or three dozen sites but all are full hook ups and the location is amazing too. In the middle of the National Forest, smack in the middle of the UP. Everything is about 45 minutes away, but you'll get an amazing night sky and great camping hosts.

One great thing about this park is the location and how close it is to downtown Marquette and Lake Superior. The campground can tend to feel a bit crowded in the summer and on weekends but there are not many campgrounds in town so you may have to put up with crowds for convenience. We didn’t have reservations and could not get a spot for the weekend but sites did open up during the week. The park offers great water access for fishing, swimming and paddling plus there are many other amenities like a playground, ball fields, trails, picnic areas, etc. Another plus is the paved bike path that runs by the campground and leads downtown (about a 10-minute bike ride) and along the waterfront. 

There are a mix of sites from those fitting the largest of RVs to tent sites. Lots of tall trees provide shade but this can make for some crazy maneuvering with large rigs.  Be aware if you are a large RV with tow car that many sites are not long enough so be specific how long you are when you reserve a site. The park is dated and in need of some work so there are potholes in the roads and not all sites are level. Many sites in the RV hookup areas are sandy/dirt especially when campers put our patio mats and park vehicles wherever they want.  The hook-ups are not laid out conveniently on some sites which requires extra hoses and electric cords. There is WiFi in the campground but does not pick up well in all areas of the park – it just depends where you are but works well at the office. Our television antenna picked up a dozen or so channels including the major networks. Verizon 4G was strong and our hotspot worked great. 

There was a sign posted mentioning there were reported break-ins and people should lock up their belongings. We found this a little disturbing because you normally don’t see this in campgrounds. It also appeared that some campers were not well-versed on camping etiquette throwing trash in fire pits, walking through others campsites, and leaving garbage all over their sites.

Open, level gravel sites and some concrete pads scattered throughout this pretty new campground. A few baby trees in the open meadow are trying to get started, but other than those there is no shade. We stayed in a full hook up 50 amp site, and experienced no power issues despite 2 days of freakishly high winds and scorching heat in the 90s. This is an immaculately clean and well run campground. Wi fi is ok for email and phone scrolling social media. The only reason we didn't give 5 stars is due to construction in the campground with dump trucks and beep beep beep of machinery backing up every day. Once they are finished and the shade trees grow this will be a premier campground in a beautiful area. Pets allowed on leash. Trash receptacles convenient to each area of the campground. Bath house with coin laundry machines.

We booked late yet could get only 2 nights at this park. We were in site # 86 with full hook up. The waterfront sites (lake Superior) were amazing with fire pits behind the campers on the beach. All the big driftwood along the shoreline. It's a nice park, we walked the beach with a cocktail & met some nice people. We made dinner & were sitting there at our picnic table when a ice cream guy came buy in a tricycle playing music came by we bout ice cream for dessert. Loved it he was a volunteer working for the park. 

We had a family next to us in a tent with 4 kids & the youngest cried all night. OMG I'm glad we only had 2 nights of it.  This campground is beautiful, it was cool out and raining a bit so we were limited on what to do.

We went to Picture Rock, Miners Castle, Munising falls, and other little falls along the road.  I would go here again

Very clean and friendly staff. AMAZING views of Lake Superior just steps away from the camp site. Spots don't stay empty for long. The RV park stays full

My family stayer here for five night this past June. Reservations and deposit was easy to do online. Their reservation system was easy to use, able to pick out site and was also able to do some more extensive search criteria on it as well to check availability. The office is a small building as you enter the campground. The staff was prepared for us and the process of checking-in was very smooth.

This is a newer park but well maintained. The sites are well layout, with a good amount a space between sites. Full hookups and everything worked well.

If it were dry it could see things get dusty on a windy day but the area had a good amount of rain this summer and this was not an issue for us. There is a good mix of pull-thru sites and back-in sites. The site was what looked like a mixture of gravel and recycled asphalt and was mostly level. A little rough on bare feet but an outdoor rug help out a ton. While we were there they were planting tress. It will take sometime for them to grow to provide very much shade but you can tell they are looking towards the future.

There were a lot of bugs while we were there, so it was hard to stay outdoors for a long period of time during certain times of the day. But this is the Mid-west and it is just part of this region of the US. Next time I would bring a screen tent to be able to sit outside and enjoy the view.

Restrooms and Showers were not open due to COVID.

This campground in located on the east side of small town of Christmas and a short drive west to Munising, WI. and it is not a far drive to Pictured Rocks National Lake shore. It is a beautiful park and I would highly recommend seeing the rocks along the lake shore either from the water on a guided boat tour, kayak tour, or boat ( there are pontoon rentals available too). Most of these options are available in Munising. Also hiking through the park forest, along the lake shore, rivers and many waterfalls was a great experience.

We will definitely stay again at this RV park again.

I only wish my community back home would make an investment by building such a wonderful campground. We found this location online using the Dyrt App. This is a relatively small community campground that was recently opened. You can fit just about any size rig as the sites are huge. I wish we found it sooner so that we could have reserved a lake front site over looking the lighthouse. The bathhouse is top notch with a sitting area that is separate from the shower. They also have a family shower room/bath area. Sites are paved and they have great fire pits on each site. The water has been high this summer as we have witnessed several other campgrounds with flooding. This one was not immune as they had several with sitting water but most were just fine. I would maybe call in advance for sure recommendations. All sites are full hook up with exception of the primitive sites. There is no store and they were having some issues with WiFi while we were here. They have pull through and back in sites. Very affordable pricing for the amenities. If we are ever in the area again, I would definitely stay here again.

Nice RV park but just not our cup of tea. Sites are really open to one another although the lakefront sites have great beach access to Lake Superior. Even at the “rustic tent sites”, you will see your neighbor clearly. Bathrooms and showers were clean, friendly staff. Just wish there were more trees or sites were spread out more

Beware! I booked this campground over a year ago. I had to change plans due to family matter which prevented us from visiting this campground. I spoke with Jeff in October and he said not an issue and would refund my money. After multiple phone calls, he still hasnt refunded my money. He is now refusing to take my calls. Jeff is a liar, cheat and dishonest owner that shouldnt be trusted. If he turns this problem around I will update. We visited Gitche Gumee RV Park, no overnight stay. UPDATE: Jeff still refuses to talk to me. He is the worst Campground owner I have come across in my 3 1/2 yrs of full timing.

It is convient with long 80-90 foot level pull thru's with full hookup sites and free wifi. close to great fishing, plenty of historic and nature sites

We got a beautiful site right on the lake - big back-in with full hookups. If you’re not lucky and end up in the middle sections, just be aware that the water/electric hookups can be a bit tricky. (Hint - make sure to have extra cord and hoses.) Otherwise this is a perfect location right on the lake, about a 6 minute drive to all the attractions in town, clean and well-maintained. Will definitely return if the right site is available! At&T and T-Mobile service was fine, plus there’s passable WiFi.

This probably was one of the cleanest campgrounds we ever went to. They have everything from full hookups to rustic tent sites. Each site has a huge permanent firepit. RV lots are large  and private, Lots of trees and there is a constant breezy that comes off of Lake Michigan. The only downfall is, it's more expensive than your typical campground. $40 - $60 range for the RV sites. Although $60 dollars, you can get your own private beach front lot. Bathrooms and Laundry room are super clean. You also get cable. Restaurants, shopping and a brewery are all within walking distance
