Best RV Parks & Resorts near Abbeville, LA

Several RV parks surround Abbeville in southern Louisiana with full hookup capabilities. Abbeville RV Park provides level concrete pads with 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. Betty's RV Park and Ace RV Park, both within Abbeville city limits, offer similar amenities for travelers exploring Cajun Country. "Sites are all level, paved, and long and wide enough to fit your RV and two vehicles," noted one visitor about nearby Parkside RV Park, which features modern facilities and self-check-in options. Audubon RV Park south of Abbeville maintains seven RV-only sites with 50-amp service, though lacks shower facilities.

RV travelers can access multiple parks directly off main highways, with Frog City RV Park positioned conveniently off I-10 in Duson. Most parks accommodate big rigs with pull-through sites, though advance reservations are recommended during peak seasons and Mardi Gras celebrations. Park amenities vary considerably throughout the region—while Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge features extensive recreational facilities with over 500 sites, smaller parks like Betty's RV Park offer more basic setups. According to one camper, "The WiFi was very good! I was very thankful for that." Dump stations are available at most parks, and pets are generally welcome, though park policies regarding fires and alcohol consumption differ significantly.

    Maxie's Campground

    Basic and nice

Stayed here with the Passport America discount and paid $23 for a 30 amp FHU site, so roughly double that for the full price. 50 amp is a bit more. Sites are all back in, and on the freeway, so it’s very loud. The website directs you to book your site online, but when we tried to do that, every single site showed as being available, which didn’t seem right to me, so we decided to just drive to the park first. Office was closed when we arrived (owners were at church), so we drove through the park, found an open site, found that site on their website, paid, and pulled in and set up. Owners pulled up to greet us and welcome us when they returned from church so I guess how we did it was fine.

Park is very basic, but nice. Free hot showers, nice laundry room ($4 for wash, $1.50 for dry- expensive but the machines are bigger than normal). There’s also a coke vending machine. Dumpster here but no recycling. Park offers free wifi but my Kaspersky internet security didn’t like something about it (doesn’t usually alert me when I use public wifi), so I just used my cell phone hotspot. Good cell service with ATT and Verizon.

Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge

    Super fun place to be

Our site was $63 a night for 5 nights & $79 for two nights. We got a weekly rate of $574.16

We were in Site# 2144 The check in was at 12pm and Check out is at 11am.
We had Full hook- up with a concrete pull-through.
We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep.

The site was easy to level.

Our site was fairly shaded with one tree. This was a smaller lot with our neighbors fairly close.

The lot comes with a concrete patio with picnic table and fire ring.

It is an easy access to the campground from highway -(less than 1 mile from highway).

There is free WiFi. They offer Cable TV and there are many channels.

There is not a community outdoor kitchen but do have quite a few community fire pits.
They sell wood but were out the entire week we were there.

They pickup your garbage at your site daily.

You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They also allow you to rent golf carts. It is beneficial to have a golf cart to get around since it is a large campground. They would not let us use our e-bikes around the campground.

They do have multiple swimming pools including a water playground and splash pad. There is a huge hot tub. We especially loved the 21+pool with swim up bar. Water Amenities are open from March 29th-October 26th. You can also rent poolside cabanas. They have a few smaller ponds for catch & release fishing.

They have a decent general store with some food, accessories, and clothes options.

There is a separate Activity Center for kids. There are tons of scheduled activities for kids like gem mining, tie dying, candle making, candy bar bingo, sand art, etc.

There is a Playground. They also offer pickleball, cornhole, and basketball sport court. There is a Game room for kids. They have a workout room for adults.

There are three bars (one serving food) and a separate concession stand that also serves food.

Right outside of the park is a delicious restaurant/fresh seafood market with a daiquiri drive thru (many flavors).

There is live music on site!

The streets are paved and good for riding bikes. There is not really anywhere to ride bikes outside of campground.

They have multiple RV slip options along with cabins/cottages/villas for rent. Tent camping is not allowed.

They have many shower houses. The shower house has individual bathrooms with your own sink, shower, toilet. These are kept very clean.

There is a few laundry facilities. They allow you to use cash or credit card. It is approximately $2 to wash and $2to dry a load.

They have a fenced in dog park (Barkaritaville) with a dog wash. It is located in the back far corner of the park.

Bugs were a little bit of an issue and bug spray was definitely needed.

There were no trails to hike in the campground but the park is so huge, it is a great walk within itself.

We shopped at the local market outside of the park and the Piggly Wiggly. We went on the Cajun Food Tour and definitely recommend this (link on CM’s website).

    Poche's RV Park & Fish-N-Camp

Nice RV park. Convenient for canoeing in Bayou Teche.

Poches RV park is nice, well maintained, and has number of amenities. We had a wonderful weekend stay, and the weather was perfect. We canoed in the Shake Your Trail Feather festival on Bayou Teche. The RV park was close the the canoe trailhead. Take the time to explore the city of Breaux Bridge.

Go to Poches Market and buy some pork sausage stuffed with jalapeos. Also, be sure to make a reservation and go eat at Little Big Cup in Arnaudville about 15 minutes away.

Stayed in campsite#69. Back-in site with concrete parking, picnic table, and fire ring. 15A/30A/50A, water, and sewer hookups. It has a nice grass area with fire pit in the rear of the site next to the lake. Not much shade in the campsite. The site is located on the lake. Neighbors were pretty close. Roads in the park were asphalt or gravel. The free WiFi throughout the park was adequate for checking emails, surfing the web, etc. We camped in a Travel Trailer. Would stay here again. We camped at Poche's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

    Frog City RV Park

    Clean and spacious

Pool and hot tub, laundry, showers, fishing, free wifi. The dog area is large and has a place to wash your dog. Plenty of trees for shade and they accommodate 30 and 50 amp electric with water and sewer. There is also a dump station. Nice play ground for children. Beautiful walking/biking trail around the large pond.

    Lakeview Park

    PRETTY, BUT NOISY

Don't get me wrong, I am not antisocial, but when I go camping I really want the natural quiet of nature. It was pretty busy, with many people gathered and partying. Kids driving crazy on golf carts. Otherwise, the property is pretty. The sites are easily accessible (our camper is approximately 30 ft). The showers were not available d/t covid 19, but were there. Our site 12 was level and had full hookups. Pet friendly. Large trees. Store on site and snack shop near the beach. Very kid friendly.

Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge

    Peaceful & Clean

Let’s start that COVID sucks, a lot is closed due to the CVD but it’s also a holiday week I will add as we celebrate the New Year. During the week it is quiet, and pretty empty. Pet friendly, decent space between spots, all 30/50A cable sewer water hookups.

    Lafayette KOA

    FAMILY FRIENDLY

This is my 2nd time to stay here. It's a very convenient place to watch nearby softball games. 2 pools, a game room, trash pickup, kayak rental, fishing pond, miniature golf, and a playground are available. It's just a couple of minutes from the interstate, so it's pretty loud. We stayed in 105, a back in site, concrete pad, unlevel ground, tight spot to get into. This site was 49 dollars a night. There is a store, laundry, and showers on site.
