Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bonelli Bluffs

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

    Orangeland RV Park

    Location!

Stay here every year for dance competitions in Anaheim and Garden Grove. Very reasonable prices for the area. Anaheim transit makes on-demand stops her to Disneyland as well as Garden Walk. Very helpful, friendly staff. Many residents mixed with overnight era or vacationers.

    Pros:

    • The price for the area is worth it!
    • Amazing staff.
    • Free citrus picking!
    • Pool, mini golf on site.
    • Incredibly creak restrooms and showers.
    • Camp store.
    • On-demand public transport for $6/person for all-day access.
    • Walking distance to Big Ed and Honda Center.
    • Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts.
    • Security at night.
    • Dog runs (kinda stinky, though)
    • Back-in and pull-thru sites (I’d try to stay closer to Struck and the western side)
    • Rules are there to keep things nice and safe.
    • Good wifi

    Cons:

    • Stinky dog runs
    • Street racing nearby at night. Every time.

Guide to Westminster

Camping options near Westminster, California range from beachfront locations to urban-adjacent facilities. The coastal location means mild Mediterranean climate with average temperatures between 65-85°F most of the year. Winter nights can drop to the 40s, while summer brings higher humidity and occasional marine layer fog at beach locations through June.

What to do

Beach activities: Huntington Beach RV Campground sits directly on the boardwalk, offering immediate beach access. "You won't get any closer to the beach than this! Our kids had a blast staying here since it's right on the boardwalk and super close to the HB pier. At night, you can build a bonfire, which is really fun and one of the few spots in Orange County that you can do this."

Family entertainment: Rancho Jurupa RV Park offers numerous recreation options within the park boundaries. "Splash pad, park, mini golf great amenities. Nice staff! Would of liked to be on grass like the sites across but they were clean!" The park also features fishing opportunities and playground facilities, making it ideal for families seeking activities without leaving the campground.

Urban exploration: Canyon RV Park provides a surprising nature experience despite being surrounded by urban areas. "Been passing this exit on the 91 freeway for 25 years and had no idea canyon RV park was tucked in between corona and yorba linda. I was quite amazed with the tidy facilities and was very peaceful. When you are smack dab in the middle of asphalt jungle."

What campers like

Water access: Newport Dunes RV Resort provides beachfront access with additional water-based activities. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach. There are fantastic running/bike trails along the Back Bay. The campground is clean and right on the beach."

Pool facilities: Many Westminster-area RV campgrounds maintain year-round heated pools. At Orangeland RV Park, campers appreciate the "Heated pool, spa was hot. Nice little store with everything you need. Staff was very friendly and helpful." Similarly, at Golden Shore RV Resort, "Staff keeps the grounds clean, clean bathrooms, heated pool and hot tub, and other fun things to do like horse shoes."

Citrus trees: Orangeland RV Park features a unique amenity - fruit trees throughout the property. "Super friendly staff, super clean, 2 dog parks, offers really good wifi & cable. Can pick the oranges out of the tree." This unusual feature provides both shade and fresh fruit for campers during their stay.

What you should know

Seasonal availability: Not all Westminster-area campgrounds operate year-round. Huntington Beach RV Campground has limited seasonal operations. "This opens back up in October due to the high traffic of summer visitors. Basically a parking lot on the beach that you can stay and enjoy beachfront."

Security considerations: Most RV parks near Westminster maintain security staff and gated entries. Rancho Jurupa RV Park features "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Ranger is on constant patrol." At Stone Villa RV Park, "The host is friendly and lives on site," providing on-premises oversight.

Military restrictions: Seabreeze At Seal Beach maintains strict access requirements. "A well kept secret with one drawback; everyone has to have an ID card to get on the base or be pre approved by base security." Another reviewer notes clearly, "Must have military clearance to rv here."

Tips for camping with families

Theme park transportation: When using rv campgrounds Westminster, California as a Disney base, consider transport options. Anaheim Harbor RV Park offers proximity to major attractions with alternatives to driving. "Very short drive or 20ish minute walk to Disneyland. Extremely helpful and kind staff. Close to shopping and stores."

Youth-friendly activities: Parks often provide specific amenities for children. At Rancho Jurupa RV Park, "There are some great kid friendly activities," and the park features "Lots of families with children, fishing for catfish in the little lake which is shaded with trees and plenty of tables to picnic by the lake. Playground plus lots of grassy areas."

Site selection tips: Some parks offer significantly different site types. At Anaheim Harbor RV Park, "You stay here to do Disney. The staff are helpful and nice, be aware that office hours are 9a-5p. Get a deluxe site if you can. The standard sites are essentially a large parking spot in a paved parking lot. The deluxe feel more like an RV site with a picnic table and grass."

Tips from RVers

Site spacing: Westminster-area RV campgrounds typically feature close quarters. At Newport Dunes, "I hope you like cozy. Neighbor in campsite next to us yapped his belligerent drunken mouth all weekend." Similarly, at Waterfront RV Park, "The site itself is fairly tight. The full hookups were nice and welcomed. We stayed within our area no problem. It's simply an open lot with the hookups."

Big rig accommodation: Several parks near Westminster can handle larger vehicles. At Orangeland RV Park, "We have family in Orange County and we stay here whenever we come out. Centrally located and best for easy access coming from or leaving to the east of the Los Angeles area." Canyon RV Park offers "spaces are well spaced out and you're not right on top of your neighbors."

Noise considerations: Urban-adjacent camping means potential noise issues. At Canyon RV Park, "The site is bordered by highways on both sides, and they create noise day and night. They're also clearly visible." Similarly, at Orangeland RV Park, "Only downside was the sports bar next door was pretty loud at night. And the loud music coming from the industrial building next door at 7am."
