Waterfront RV Park

We are experienced motorhomers who have travelled to many parks and locations throughout the years.  We live locally and wanted to stay at this park due to some remodel work being done in our residence.

Our 11 day stay was not a pleasant experience.  We wrote the owners of the park an email describing our haphazard and frustrating stay that they were clearly responsible for, but did not care enough about their guest's experience at their park, nor were professional enough to respond.  Taking our money was a priority, though.  

This is the actual email:

Dear Sir(s): 

My name is XXXX XXXX and have been a guest at your rv facility since September 12, 2022 and am reserved until September 23rd. Since my arrival 3 days ago, two of those days we have been without water until 5:00pm. What I do not understand is the need to shut down the rv park's water when the water leak issue was within the separate system of the mobile home park. It is your plumbing contractor, your business, but my inconvenience. 

This morning we were notified the electricity would be shut down from 10:00pm to 5:00am due to maintenance from SCE. My 45' motorhome is an all electric coach, which also includes an all electric refrigerator/freezer and toilet. I have a generator, but with everyone using their generator, it will be difficult to sleep tonight with the loud noise from all of the generators in use. I called SCE to inquire why they are shutting the electricity down on such short notice, and they informed me customers (that would be you) were notified two weeks ago of this planned shut down. Why wasn't I informed of this shut down by your company since it was known I had paid reservations during this time period? I could have chosen to spend my eleven days elsewhere. 

Clearly I am very upset. Your company has not even offered a discount/compensation for the unnecessary inconvenience caused. 

Please advise.

I am giving this campground two stars based on (1) proximity to the beach, and (2) friendliness and helpfulness of the office staff (Maya and Nichole) who went over and above trying to accommodate us, although their hands are clearly tied while attempting to manage this park.  If you want an exceptional stay for yourself and your family, Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort is just a few miles down the road.

We really enjoyed this park... mainly due to the proximitiy to the beach areas. When we booked a trip to Huntington, our main priority was to get to the beach. Booking a site here at Waterfront, provided us a excellent homebase that was close to the water. In all, you are about a 2 minute walk to the sand, and 4 minutes to the oceanfront. 

We also liked having the hot tub/pool at the end of the day. Our girls loved swimming and soaking. We rode bikes along the bike path through Huntington, and went for daily walks as well. 

The site itself is fairly tight. The full hookups were nice and welcomed. We stayed within our area no problem. Its simply a open lot with the hookups. Overall, nothing amazing but was perfect for us. 

Generally, I would say this is fairly quiet but do expect some road noise from the PCH. Friday/Saturday were the worst nights. Our neighbors were fairily quiet as well, but Friday night seemed to be the most rambunctious night of the week. Again, expected and didnt ruin our stay at all. 

Overall, I would totally come back here. If I were again to come, I would stay in a site in the 84-89 numbers, and the sites 26-36 are HUGE. We stayed in site number 43 in our 29 foot Class A. It was just fine.
