This time of year, I was the only one in the campground. Very beautiful sunset views and very quiet. For non-residents, a bit pricey for no water, but there are pit toilets. I would highly recommend!

This was a great spot to spend a night near Devil's Tower. The road getting there was rough but we were the only ones there. We even had a few free range horses and a donkey pass by in the evening.

Just pass the Weston turn off at Highway 49 and 59 on the right if you’re heading north . Go about 1 mile down a well-maintained dirt road. There was a vault toilet and a picnic table and a little pond that you could fish in. Nice flat area to park on. Far enough from the main road where it was super quiet.
RangerA heap of broken if I would have known about the road before traveling up it I would never have taken my 29 ft trailer to the top. However I did make it. It's a beautiful place away from everything very quiet. I will add more to this review after I spend the night or two.
Guidestruck out on any camping close to devils tower, so we ended up coming here. fun little dirt road coming up the mountain to the sight. really only like 2 spots. lower spot is medium sized and we saw someone else there in a jeep. friends and i took the top spot which was big enough for a truck, a large suv, and sedan.

in the dark we kept seeing a tuxedo cat randomly watching us, not sure if it’s a stray or an outside cat from one of the nearby farms, didn’t come over when we enticed it and ran when we shone the light but cute little campsite friend i guess.

We stopped here headed home from Colorado with a detour through South Dakota. This is a great one night stay with Electric and water if needed. Not far off the highway and no noise. Clean camp ground and shower house. Verizon works well. Not far from Mt Rushmore. Not sure I will pass by again but would stay here . $42 night cash.

GuideIt rained the last two days but I was able to get up the hill in an overloaded AWD. There were some pretty hefty ruts so choose your lines carefully. I rolled up pretty late, maybe 7p. There was only one other person here and of course they took the spot. The lower spot was a big mud pit and the upper field is overgrown. It looks like a fire came through here maybe last year so the grass has bounced back really well in some spots. Seems pretty quiet human-wise with lots of birds and big noises, which I prefer. Not too far from Devil’s Tower and a great spot for me to stop over for the night. If I stayed longer, I’d nab that good spot. LOL.
RangerLoved this spot! The dirt road right off the highway is pristine, not even washboardy. Once you branch right for the last mile or so, there are a few small rocks and ruts but still smooth. At the top of the hill, there’s a left turn that splits - if you go right, you’ll go across a big flat meadow and at the end find a beautiful site with a great view of Devil’s Tower. We were surprised only one other car was here on a Saturday night. We experienced intense wind overnight, but still loved the locatiob

Wyoming state parks seem to be hostile to non residents. It"s cheaper to stay at a regular rv park and you have better amenities.
You can only reserve online. Online resevation fee $8.
Fee for electric site $18.
Electric fee additional $10.
Non resident fee $12.
Plus tax. $2.34. Then the only way to pay online was a credit card so there was a $1.26 convenience fee. Nothing about this was convenient.
Been through Wyoming a few times. First time staying at a Wyoming state park. Possibly the last.

When I called to check availability, I was told that it was off season so it would be 50 dollars per NIGHT FHU. When I arrived, it was 91 dollars FHU. Told them what I was told, and they didn't really care. At that point I didn't have a choice.
Guide.. says the sign when entering the final road to the campground. But we were lucky, no rain before and got in without any issues towing small teardrop trailer. Upper area is flat with grass. A bit exposed to the wind but we were able to set up the trailer to protect it from the gusts of wind. The plateau is pretty large, especially when empty. Our Neighbour’s took the prime spot with a view to the Devils Tower. We enjoyed the place for a night nevertheless, especially when lots of other camp places are still closed for the season.

RangerThe KOA is literally at the base of Devil’s Tower - you aren’t going to get a better location. What I love about this campsite is that the actual campground is awesome, too. We loved watching Close Encounters (right at the scene of the action!) in the evening (the screen could be bigger). The playground was nice and so was the free miniature golf course. It was nice to get up in the morning and go to a really reasonably priced restaurant. The actual sites were not anything fancy - level and close together. It’s a great place to start or finish your day at Devil’s Tower!

This campground waited until 2024 to allow reservations for a huge event in Gillette, WY. When I called them last year, they said that they were planning to wait until the new year before opening reservations because they wanted to be fair. So last night I set my alarm for 1am to be able to reserve when the spots opened up. They decided to jack the prices from $58 to $399 for a spot per night. When I questioned their motives that they waited so that people would be desperate and I didn't see why they couldn't make just a reasonable profit, they hung up on me. I tried repeatedly to call back to cancel and they would not pick up the phone. I called 24 times before they were annoyed enough to answer the phone. I barely got out that I wanted to cancel my reservation before I was hung up on again. I obviously have not stayed here but I would guess that from their lack of integrity and human kindness that I would not ever want to stay there. Please beware.
TravelerWe made a last-minute booking and staff was more than helpful in getting us booked over the phone past the online booking time.
We rolled in late, and the staff made it easy for us to find our site. The site was level enough to not need blocks, but blocks would have been useful if it wasn't just for one night.
The showers were extremely clean, but I still would suggest shower shoes. They were close and accessible from our site and the showers were private with a locking door.
We did get to view the aurora borealis that night next to the silhouette of the tower, which was really cool.
Overall it was a very clean, quiet, and nice KOA. I will be staying here again if in the area.

New owners 3 months ago. The new owners are upgrading this campground. No water hookup or sewer but they have electric. Pull through sites make it easy. Not much road noise. Free bottled drinking water.

RangerThe owners take care of this campground, you even see the sprinklers running to keep the grass nice. The food at the campground exceeded my expectations. Keep in mind though that if a bus tour comes in they shut down the kitchen for a bit. The campground is literally at the entrance to devils tower. The only downside is that the spots are not wide. They are long so they fit by 41 ft rv but we are on top of the neighbor.
LegendI spoke to the owner who bought it a month ago over the phone. She got me hooked up with a campsite, explained they were having issues with their water and offered a discount. Not a big deal for us as we still have plenty of water in our camper. Toliets were working!!!... Very nice people!
You can tell they are on the verge of making this a nice campground with nice finishing touches. They have great customer service, a cute little gift shop and a small cafe to get some food. Also, cute clean bathrooms and showers. Right the road, but you really don't really notice the noise not a lot of traffic and easy to pull into with a truck and camper. We booked it for convenience to the tower and it was very reasonably priced. Cute spot! Would stay here again.

Do NOT stay here as a tent camper. We stayed in the Pat’s Point Campground section of this park. Tent pads and view are nice. Right on the water for fishing swimming and boating. The issue is this place was slammed full of people with no host or park enforcement of any rules. RVs had generators on hours past the cut off time/start of quiet hours. Large extremely loud groups at multiple sites. Nothing wrong with a party but this was loudness at all hours. Lanterns shining into our tent until midnight. Then we got a 5 AM wake up call of kids screaming and more early generator use. There were roaches of all things in the women’s bathroom but the men’s side was okay. Not sure why pit toilets need genders but they did here. This is a campground for parties and casual family camping. It comes with the typical rude behavior associated with those groups. If you’re a tent camper and you just need a place to stay for the night, you’re probably better off at an RV park than this place. It might even be cheaper given the demand pricing. We have camped coast to coast and we agreed this was in our top 5 worst.
TravelerPretty well maintained dirt road up to 2 sites that look across the Devils Tower. The drive up (at least at night) feels like you're in the middle of nowhere but you're actually pretty close to Devil's Tower. We got in after dark and the two spots were taken. One up on the grassy hill is a large flat spot that could accommodate a few camp set-ups, if we showed up in daylight probably would have asked. The lower one right off the road (west) has a turnaround and could accommodate 2-3 vehicles who are camping with eachother. We camped between the two sites since we came up at dark and wanted to give the folks camping there adequate space. Quiet, serene, mildy buggy.
