    Very secluded

Very nice and and quite! Bathroom only has cold water but shower house has nice hot water. We are here on a Monday and it made us pay for 2 nights so that’s my biggest complaint but this is a very secluded and clean park so I’d stay here again!

Nice woody sites near the lake

We stayed in the primitive area which wasn't crowded at all just after labor day.  The sites were nice and wooded with lots of privacy.  It rained most of the time we were there so we didn't get to explore much.  Tried to walk down to the lake from our site, but just got to the top of the cliffs on the lake.

The automated pay system insisted we pay for 2 nights since they considered Thursday to be a weekend night.  This is just silly.  Thursday is NOT a weekend night.

We only spent one night due to the rain.

    Expensive if your non-resident .

Campground is adequate, it has a functioning shower house and private spots. I used a primitive campsite and it cost me $30 ($15 if your from WI). That was on top of the $11 non resident park entrance fee. So $41 for a primitive tent site, $47.50 if you count the bundle of firewood I bought from them. So yeah, keep that in mind if coming here as a non resident. I’m sure there are cheaper places nearby.

    Great place to camp

This was quiet and peaceful. When we needed our fire pit cleaned out theg came pretty quickly. Being able to watch the horses was very calming. We would recomend this place to others and we would go back.

    Boulder Lake

    Beautiful site

We had site 18 which is right on the water and across from the shower house. It was decently spaced out from the other sites. The shore was pretty level and easy to get our kayaks in and out. The shore is shallow and mostly sand. Nice for swimming. We did catch one bass off the shore. The firepit grate was most of the bars so that made grilling a little harder. Be aware the sites to the east are higher elevation and looked like it was steep to get down to the water. Shower house was nice and clean. The first night we did hear a bunch of teens yelling at the shower house around midnight, but they either got kicked out or left because we didnt hear them again. The waterfront sites are on the main road, so you do hear all the RVs coming and going. Definitely will go back!

First stay at this campground and would definitely go back

Stayed for the first time at this campground in July and loved it. We stayed on a tent site, it was huge and had electric. I love that the campground is right on the lake and there’s quite a few amenities for people who boat. It is pet friendly and the bathrooms are quite a walk but clean and hot water is available.

    Chute Pond Park

    One of my favorite campgrounds

Chute pond park is one of my favorite campgrounds to stay at. They have reasonable rates, clean bathrooms and almost all sites are electric. There’s lots to do the whole weekend whether you want to go hiking, fishing, boating, small cliff jumping, or take a walk to slippery rock. This year they also have now available kayaks for rent at $20 per hour.

    Awesome campground

We return yearly for trick or treat weekend. We also camp during the summer as well! Had my kids double birthday party here and it was fun! I'm so glad the campground allows visitors. I hate campgrounds that are strict on that! Keeps us coming back! Lots of room for kids to bike and play while the parents enjoy the campground! This year we will be here 3x!

    Flanagans Pearl Lake Campsites

    80% Seasonal Campsites. Nice hosts.

This campground is nestled in a stand of tall red pine trees so shade is found everywhere. The check in process was easy and quick. The roads connecting the sites are adequately wide. Just know that all of the sites are 90 degree back ins which can be tight with longer rigs- especially if your neighbor across the road has their vehicle or toys parked right up to the paved surface. The only thing I would be critical of is the bathroom/shower house. The showers are a bit odd where one door (that locks) opens to the only 2 shower stalls for your gender in the entire building. So if you’re cool showering with a buddy or your kids that’s no bid deal. This campground is mostly all seasonal campsites and some are impeccably maintained and elaborate and some are REALLY run down. I doubt you could tow some of those campers out. We stayed here for EAA Airventure in Oshkosh and it was only 40 minutes away.

    Wonderful, riverside campground !

Excellent campground! Well maintained and easy to maneuver around. Quiet and enough sun and shade for everyone. Owners are helpful and very nice! Nice playground for the kids, swim beach for great summer fun, campground store/food/drinks if you’re hungry or desire a cold drink to beat the heat and such amazing riverside views that melt the weeks stress away! We will definitely be back to this jem of a campground! Come see for yourself, don’t take my word for it!

    High Cliff State Park

    Early spring Quick trip

Decided to get back into camping and decided to check out this semi local State Park. Alot of great walking and hiking spots, it was a bit chilly in mid April and especially windy down by the lake. Once up by the campground wind died down and was pretty nice. Site 53 was flat, had a fire pit, and picknick table. Despite being the closest site to the main road and entrance, didn't feel like it was too busy or distracting. Campgrounds were quiet and friendly. Will definitely come back once it warms up a little bit.

    River Rambler

    Hidden Gem

We had a wonderful time camping at the River Rambler! The location was perfect - secluded and surrounded by nature, yet close enough to nearby town for day trips. The campsite itself was spacious and well-maintained, with plenty of room for our tent/RV plus it has a fire pit and picnic table. The owner was a great host. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing camping experience.

Oconto River off Mountain Lake Road

Quaint and quiet. (Two campsites, dispersed from each other)

Loved this spot. Stayed two nights, and the first night was almost absolutely silent other than the waterfall (difficult to access) about a mile away. The campsite is right along a deep, and steadily moving stream. Water is very cold, and flows from an aquifer upstream.

There is an outdoor toilet, and I've attempted to point it out in the pictures.

The entrance was doable for my sedan, but was tricky. I believe a camper could make it going slowly. The second campsite entrance may have an easier time in.

Do not follow road past campsites, either way unless your vehicle is lifted my sedan would have gotten stuck if I tried.

Both campsites are accessed from the main road and have a brown "campsite" sign.

    AT&T: No Service.

    Hickory Oaks Campground

    Best option in Oshkosh

All the other campgrounds in OshKosh are near the airport, which makes sense since the biggest event each year is the EVAA air show. None of them have trees.
Hickory Oaks has it's own airfield and lots and lots of trees. They even have a mini-lake (4 acres).
There are all types of RV sites, tenting/primitive sites and group sites, some small cabins as well. We camped in site 60 because we arrived after dark, and Cindy suggested that our first choice, #67 might be too hard to find at night. There is only one street light, and it's by site #1 and the swim area.
The map doesn't really convey what an oasis of trees this place is. To the West is the runway and beyond that, a large grassy hill (it's actually landfill). To the east in a rural road running along the lake. To the north, in the distance is a prison.  That all sounds worse than it is, it's a lovely campground.
There are a few things for sale in the office, but you're so close to town you can get everything there. Cindy the operator is extremely nice and helpful.
Fire pits are 30" rings with no grate, Tables seem smaller than average.
If you're visiting in the summer, be sure to visit the Farmer's Market , Saturdays on Main Street, also Wagner's Market for the best meats, deli and beverages.  The Paine museum & gardens and the city museum are both worth visits as well.

    Rose's Enchanted Forest Campground

    Home away from home

We began camping on a seasonal site at Rose’s Enchanted Forest Campground in April of 2023. This was our first adventure in seasonal camping. We were very unsure of what we were doing as we have always used a pop up. The owners were extremely helpful. They have answered all of our questions with grace and helped out every time.

This campground doesn’t have all of the amenities that a large campground has. That also made us a little hesitant but quickly learned we did need a swimming pool or bar. They have a beach with several docks as well as a jumping dock. The beach area is clean and well maintained. There is a large field that has a playground and a large area for planned and unplanned events. They also have some of the best people, you are never far from a helping hand or good conversation and someone is always cooking something.

Most importantly, the owners have made this campground a family. Everyone is willing to help out everyone. We have participated with our fellow campers to rally around all those that love this campground as much as we do. This campground, these owners shows up for their family whether it is a fund raiser for a medical crisis, an animal rescue or a good old games tournament in the field.

We could not be happier with the decisions we have made to be here and to stay. We are looking forward to all the new adventures that are waiting for us for years to come. Anyone looking to start camping with a seasonal campground, this is definitely a place to check out!
