ScoutI called to reserve two sites months ago for Memorial Day weekend, asking specifically for adjoining sites since it didn't appear there was any way to do this online and we're camping with friends. The person answering the phone and taking my payment for the sites booked sites 77& 78 in my name. Today I called to confirm the reservation and find out the site numbers and it turns out we are clear across the park from each other at sites 16 and 78 and there are no other adjoining sites available. I guess we'll make the best of it since we already paid and really have no other options, however I'm incredibly disappointed that they couldn't follow through on a simple request when an accepting our payment. The customer service here sucks. I won't be back. I'm assuming our friends and their family won't either, and I’ll be sure to share my experience far and wide. Why on earth would I call to reserve two sites on the opposite ends of the park 10 months in advance? What if these were minor children staying in one of the sites? Ridiculous!
ScoutThought about brining my family here this summer but was chased off the property with my little girl for trying to look around and apparently "flying through the sites" going 8 mph. Wonder if they treat all new business this way? Think ill take my family somewhere more family friendly.
GuideDevil's Lake is one of my all time favorite state parks, and holds many fond memories for me. I have led youth camping trips here, gone on group trips with friends, and my now husband proposed to me here. I love love love Devil's Lake!
As far as tent camping, I don't love the campsites. There is very little privacy between sites, it is always packed, and there is lots of noise. The first night I stayed here, the group across from us kept us up until 2 am!
However, Devil's Lake is truly a fantastic place - we stayed for several days and had a blast in spite of the poor sleep.
GuideI went on a group trip to Devils Lake. Having camped at Devils Lake before, we decided to camp somewhere quieter in the area. My expectations were low going in, but Mirror Lake really wowed me. The park was beautiful and quiet. The campsites were very large. We came in a group with multiple cars and tents, but the sites easily accommodated us. The pine trees were gorgeous! The park was quiet at night, and there was great hiking and paddle boarding in the park itself. It was an incredible Basecamp for our devil's lake trip!

GuideDid some fall camping with friends, and there were 4 family’s. 3 of them stayed in these three sites which were fairly wide open and kind of looked over the lake. They would be great sites to book as a group, but I wouldn’t recommend them to book individually as you wouldn’t have much privacy, more so in the middle site. These three sites are E, F, and G. Bit if a corner site and you are next to some private homes.
GuideI have came here a couple times with friends for fall camping. The campground doesn’t have a lot of extra amenities, but still a nice simple campground to be in. There are a mix of sites that have a little more privacy, and others that are wide open which would be better for group setups.
