Can't wait to go back

We stayed 2 night in sites 13 and 14. The sites are huge and flat with a river running along side. There was no electric hookups even though the description says there is. The pit toilets were as expected.

We had a great time here and can't wait to go back.

5-star Basic and Affordable

Rated this 5-stars for price, availability, cleanliness and ambiance. Pulled in on 6/1 with our 30ft RV and camp was empty with 15-sites to choose from for a quick overnight stop (it is approx 5-miles off I-90, easily accessible, follow Waze). There are no hook-ups for public, despite listing, and a flat $10/night fee per site. Most sites are fairly level and on short grass, two are in a pull up loop for RV (though you could back into many others). Pit toilets, water access, park area for kids, covered group picnic area, and no trash collection (no problem). Host Roger was very nice, keeps place up and shared its history. This camp is close to being 'off the grid' but has cell signal reach. Very nice, quiet night in non-commercial forested area, camping the way I remember it!

Nothing too Special

Not free! They request that you pay $5 per night on their sign near the entrance! Take an envelope and fill it out and deposit your money- and keep a tag in your car and one on the designated (numbered) campsite. We stayed at campsite 3. We got in pretty late. Small site with outhouse like bathrooms too the left. Small playground. around 11 or 12 spots? Places for RVs and tents. Fire rings. Pic nic tables under a small shelter. Pretty well maintained. Very affordable (although could be free in my option). Decent stop on the way home from a road trip.

Affordable Site near 90

Not a lot of free camping in the Minnesota / Wisconsin area. A decent $5 little site about 15 minutes off of 90. Spent the night there while driving back home. Arrived in the night, but was pleased to see bathrooms, shelters, electric hookups, and other amenities in the morning! Great little wooded area, nice roads, solid fire rings, and a little playground all in the area.

Camping books hidden on a winding road

So I’m driving back from a camping adventure and the wind picks up. After fighting it for awhile we start looking for a spot to stop for the night. One campground was asking $40 or so and that is a steep price for us. We opened up The Dyrt and found this spot. Another camping app had a great review so it sounded like the place to be.

The 6 mile drive from the highway winds through farms (hint... one is a pick your own blueberry farm). Turn into the park and the kiosk is right there. If you go right, there is an archery area and 3 campsites. I didn’t see a restroom on this side. There is a short loop hike on this side. The are to the left has a bunch of features. There is a picnic area and playground. Multiple campsites in different areas. There is one by the canoe launch too. Looking at google map, the river is quite curvy. There are restrooms near the back area and by the picnic area. Each site is very large - most with shade and forest.

Site 11 is where we stayed. We had no neighbors for a quiet night. Someone left kindling set up in the fire pit and a “bird house” on a tree.

For $5 a night, this is a very nice place. I thought it would be a campsite in a field with a pit toilet at the other end. Kennedy Park has a lot of nice features. It’s also pretty close to some local attractions like the circus or Baraboo or many other activities. This was a good stop for us.
