Welcome to Cumberland MD. We have 2 campgrounds in close proximity to each other. Campground # 1 is called THE HILLCREST RIVER CAMPGROUND. CAMPGROUND # 2 is called THE CANAL TUNNEL RIVER CAMPGROUND. They are only 3 miles from each other. Book either location and enjoy both. The campground’s offer camping for RVs and Tents. They are only 1 mile from Canal Place in downtown Cumberland MD. And 5 miles from the Rocky Gap Casino and Resort. They offer Hiking and Cycling on the C and O CANAL NATION PARK , THE GREAT ALLEGHENY PASSAGE and THE KNOBLEY MOUNTAIN TUNNEL TRAIL. They both have Non-isolated, isolated and Super isolated campsites. Firewood, boating, fishing, Swimming, hiking and Cycling is available at both locations.

Campground #1 THE HILLCREST RIVER CAMPGROUND is located at 10410B Cumberland MD. 21502. It is by Tractor World 1/10 mile off of I 68 Exit 45, 2 miles from the National Trails. There are 60 campsites here. Full hookups are available on Five (5) sites for $10.00 EXTRA PER NIGHT. If you want HOOKUPS PLEASE LET THE HOST KNOW. HOOKUPS MUST BE PAID FOR WHEN YOU ARRIVE!! We have a Dump station, A flush toilet and A Hot shower HERE. That is Available in season. There is a unique Pond with a Dock and Canopy. Sorry Fishing is NOT allowed. There are many hiking trails. Be sure to visit the the CLIFF OVERLOOK on one of the trails. There is a Convenient store that is open 24/7.

CAMPGROUND # 2. THE CANAL TUNNEL RIVER CAMPGROUND is located at 1 Elizabeth St. Cumberland MD. 21502. It is on 40 acres off of The Canal Parkway. There are 80 campsites. This campground is along THE NORTH BRANCH OF THE POTOMAC RIVER and the C and O NATIONAL PARK and THE KNOBLEY MOUNTAIN TUNNEL TRAIL. There Is over 1 mile of River frontage and 2 River Islands. Electric Hookups are available on 2 Campsites. Fresh water is available. After Camping if you need to dump go to campground # 1. Please let the host know if you want a Electric Hookup site. There are NO Showers here. Portable toilet are available in season. Generators are welcome. This location offers a 5 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom House for short term rental. Deep Creek Lake State Park is located in Western Maryland’s Garrett County. The park encompasses over 1,800 acres and adjoins Deep Creek Lake Natural Resources Management Area and its 3,900-acre man-made lake. Deep Creek Lake camping lies just west of the Allegheny Front on a large plateau known as the Tablelands or Allegany Highlands. Its location at the southernmost end of Meadow Mountain places it west of the Eastern Continental Divide and within the Mississippi River watershed. The park gets its name from the lake, which was a hydroelectric project, constructed on Deep Creek in the 1920's by the Youghiogheny Hydroelectric Company. The Deep Creek Lake State Park Complex also includes Sang Run State Park and the Youghiogheny Wild River Natural Environmental Area. Deep Creek Lake Camping offers 112 campsites, 26 electrics sites, a picnic table, fire ring, lantern post, and a wildlife resistant food storage box on each site. They also have heated bathhouses, a dump station, freshwater fill up spot, free boat trailer parking, overnight dock slip use, and even some mini cabins and other lodging options! The park itself offers a sandy lakefront area, fishing areas, bathrooms, playgrounds, and hiking and biking trails. All in all, the park encompasses 1,800 acres!!

The Oasis at Bear Run Farm

This a traditional site in the heart of the farm next to a small pond with picnic table and fire pit. It is a sloping wooded space, with flat spots to comfortably accommodate 2-3 tents. There are multiple trees perfect for hanging your hammock in the shade. The compost toilet, about 50ft away, is shared with another campsite. Parking is on a gravel lane adjacent to the site. Potable water(from a frost-free hydrant) is available about 80ft from the site. The pond is only for viewing, no swimming or fishing, please. We have nesting birds occasionally and we expect their habitat to be respected. We are 3 miles from Terra Alta, a rural town with a locally owned restaurant and a local craft beer brewery featuring an exciting rotating cast of food trucks. We are 20 minutes from Swallow Falls State Park(MD), featuring Muddy Creek Falls, awesome river swimming and gorgeous hiking in an old growth Hemlock forest. We are also 20 minutes from Herrington Manor State Park(MD) were there is a lake for swimming, fishing, and canoeing. Cathedral State Park(WV) a virgin Hemlock forest with 400 year old trees about 45 minutes away. Deep Creek Lake(MD) is 40 minutes away and offers motor boat rentals, Golf, Skiing and swimming. There is skiing, hiking, biking, tubing, rafting, kayaking and much more to explore withing 40 minutes of our farm. The best white water rafting on the east coast is 20-40 minutes away. We welcome campers of all kinds! We began operating our 150 acre farm in 2011 and became the first Certified Naturally Grown Livestock farm in West Virginia in 2013. We raise 100% grass-fed beef, Western and Chinese medicinal herbs. Our family garden supplies more than half of our vegetables and our favorite berries, and our flock of chickens supply eggs and an early morning wake-up call for our campers! There are no GMO's, pesticides, herbicides or fungicides used on our farm. Farm products are available for purchase on-site. Campers can choose to to have a farm to table meal cooked for them as an extra at checkout. We prepare most of our food from scratch using local produce, meat and bulk organic dry goods. We occasionally make yogurts, noodles, simple cheeses, and fermented foods.

Abrams Creek Campground and Retreat brings you as close as possible to pristine nature. Tent sites are generously sized, spaced well apart, shaded, and on soft natural earth. Cabins are secluded and set into the forest. Even at full capacity, there is no sense of crowding. You are never far from our wild, whitewater stream. In some places, it is a constant source of energy and playfulness; in other places, it is peaceful and calming, inviting you to soak in its beauty. The forest offers a vast array of plants, and signs of wildlife are everywhere. We are not only a business, but also serve as an anchor for others who want to live more simply and close to the earth. The concept of rural revitalization means reinventing rural life so that it is economically sound, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally satisfying. Ask any of our staff if you would like to learn more about this.

 We are located within 30-45 minutes of many major recreational areas, including Blackwater Falls, Swallow Falls, Dolly Sods Wilderness, the Youghiogheny River, several ski resorts, and Deep Creek Lake. Mount Storm (3 miles) has a general store, gas station, library, motel, sports and recreation store, and public park.

 Guests are welcome to interact with hosts as they choose or be as private and secluded as they wish to be. Weather permitting, we have a bonfire most Saturday nights.

Our usual check in time is 3PM; you may check in anytime after 3PM until 10PM, or later by arrangement. Our usual check out time is noon. If you need more flexible check in or check out times, please contact us!Dogs are welcome!

Big Run State Park is a beautiful natural area located in western Maryland, in Garrett County. The park covers 300 acres of land and is home to a wide variety of wildlife and plants. It is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, offering opportunities for hiking, fishing, camping, and more.

One of the main features of Big Run State Park is the Big Run itself, which is a scenic and winding stream that flows through the park. The stream contains native brook trout and is a popular spot for fishing. There are also several hiking trails in the park that offer beautiful views of the stream and surrounding forests. The Tentrr sites at Big Run are within walking distance of the Upper Savage River and Savage River Reservoir, which are stocked with trout several times a year. The Reservoir permits trolling motors only; gasoline engines must be removed from the boat before launching. Please note that swimming is prohibited in the Reservoir.

Each Tentrr campsite is furnished with a pre-set canvas wall tent on a wooden deck. There is a queen bed frame and memory foam mattress and two side tables inside the tent. Campers also have two Adirondack chairs, a picnic table, a dry storage box and fire pit at their campsite. 

CAMPERS MUST BE BEAR AWARE. There is a black bear population in Big Run State Park. All food and trash must be stored in your vehicle at ALL TIMES. Campers must take their trash with them upon departure - there are no trash disposal facilities available at Big Run. Failure to follow this rule will result in an additional cleaning fee.
