## Overview

Cages Bend Campground is located on the shores of Old Hickory Lake, offering campers the opportunity to enjoy activities with a beautiful scenic backdrop. Water recreation is the major attraction for lake-goers, but with white-tailed deer, migratory song birds and waterfowl abundant in the area, birding and wildlife photography is popular as well.

Swimming and sailing are popular ways to enjoy the lake, and anglers can find exceptional bank and boat fishing for catfish, crappie and bass.

## Facilities

The campground offers a playground for families, a boat ramp for easy lake access, showers for comfort and a group picnic shelter for convenient entertaining. All sites have electric and water hookups and four sites meet accessibility standards. Laundry facilities are also onsite. Two docks are also available for fishing only, one is located inside the campground and the other is beside the boat ramp.

Old Hickory Lake is a 22,500 acre reservoir just northeast of the Nashville metropolitan area.   
  
Fed by the Cumberland River, it stretches for 97 miles, offering an ideal home for several birds and animals in its woodland habitat.

Downtown Nashville, known as "the music city," is just over a thirty minute drive from the campground.   
  
Visitors looking for more pier fishing opportunities can explore nearby piers at Rockland, Sanders Ferry, Shutes Branch and Bledsoe Creek State Park.   
  
History buffs will appreciate a day trip to the Hermitage, an impressive National Historic Landmark where the seventh U.S. President, Andrew Jackson lived.

## Overview

Cedar Creek Campground on Old Hickory Lake in north-central Tennessee, offers 60 campsites and limitless options for activities like boating, hiking, fishing and relaxing on the swim beach. A picnic shelter located in the day use area may also be reserved on weekdays throughout the summer. The lake is named after the 7th U.S. President, Andrew Jackson, a Tennessee-native who earned the nickname "Old Hickory," because of his tough, aggressive personality.

## Recreation

Sailing, swimming and fishing are popular activities for visitors interested in water sports, while birders and wildlife viewers will delight in the abundance of migratory songbirds, waterfowl and white-tailed deer. Wild turkeys and rabbits also frequent the area.

## Facilities

Modern amenities such as laundry facilities and hot showers are available for a more comfortable camping experience. Sites also come with water and electric hookups for added convenience. Families will enjoy the playground, and visitors looking to entertain will find the group picnic shelter, which accommodates up to 50 guests, to be an excellent gathering spot. Parking, however, is not guaranteed.

## Natural Features

Old Hickory Lake is a 22,500 acre reservoir, primarily fed by the waters of the Cumberland River. The lake is surrounded by shady wooded areas and grassy flatlands, and offers an impressive 440 miles of scenic shoreline.

Cedar Creek is just beyond the Nashville metropolitan area. Head to the "Music City" to tour the Country Music Hall of Fame or explore former President, Andrew Jackson's early 19th century home, "The Hermitage," a National Historic Landmark. Also located just minutes from the park is the Shutes Branch Mountain Bike Trail.

Bledsoe Creek has 58 paved campsites with fire rings, grills, and picnic tables. All have water hookups.

Forty-four of these campsites have 50/30/20-amp service, are level, and can accommodate rigs over 20 feet long.
Fourteen campsites have 30/20-amp service, vary from level to slight incline, and are appropriate for rigs less than 20 feet long.
A dump station and laundromat are available year-round.
Two bathhouses with heat and air conditioning provide hot showers.
Tents can be set up in the grass or on paved parking pads unless otherwise indicated.
Firewood and ice are sold onsite.
Sites 4, 18, and 43 have additional improvements making them compliant with the American Disabilities Act.

Beaver Creek 

We have five tent/overland campsites of varying sizes to meet your needs. The sites are private and nestled in the woods. Walk in or drive your off-road vehicle right to the site!

We can accommodate large RVs but they will be near the road, need to be leveled and not secluded.

We also have space for parking trailers / toy haulers. Entering the driveway can be difficult for long RVs and trailers but very possible for experienced drivers.

Rural Hill Farm

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. Hull is best known for being the longest running secretary of state in American history, serving for 11 years. Click here for a virtual tour of the Cordell Hull Lake facilities. Recreation: The 12,000-acre lake stretches 72 miles upstream and boasts 381 miles of shoreline, offering countless recreational activities for visitors. Anglers enjoy fishing for white bass, rockfish, largemouth bass, catfish, shad and crappie. Boating, sailing, water skiing and jet skiing are popular activities on the water, and boat ramps and a marina provide easy lake access. Miles of hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking trails surround the lake. The 6-mile Bearwaller Gap Trail has a trailhead within the campground. Other trails in the area include the Turkey Creek Nature Trail and Bear Wheels Trail. Facilities: The campground offers 155 sites for tents and RVs, all with electric hookups. Two large group day-use shelters are also available on a first come first serve basis or for reservation in the day use area, both shelters have water and electric hookups. A boat ramp, playground, beach, and tennis and volleyball courts are all provided, making the area perfect for families or larger parties. A marina is located adjacent to the campground. Natural Features: Cordell Hull Lake is situated among rolling hills covered in a mix of shady maple, hickory, oak, beech and chestnut trees. Summer temperatures range from the 60s to the 90s. Wildlife is abundant around the lake. Whitetail deer, wild turkey, quail, squirrels, rabbits and a wide variety of waterfowl are commonly seen throughout the area. Nearby Attractions: The historic town of Granville, Tennessee, is 25 miles from the campground. Visitors enjoy celebrating the town's Heritage Day annually in May. Events include the Uncle Jimmy Thompson Bluegrass Festival, antique car and tractor shows and Civil War living history presentations.

Enjoy complete privacy in a cozy forest retreat hut in a beautiful hollow in Middle Tennessee. Accommodates 2. Pretty steep 200 yd uphill hike to hut. Perfect for relationship getaway, spiritual retreat, or writing - planning intensive. Nationally-known spelunking (Indian Grave Point Cave) within 1/2 mile. 3 miles from Center Hill Lake. Hiking trails. Experience our alternative lifestyle with owner built solar log home, organic gardens and sculpture studio. Guests must arrive before dark to ensure finding correct address ( GPS errs a last moment) and to facilitate hike up to hut.



Beech Hollow Hideout

Defender's Retreat at Silver Point is a private campground just over an hour from Nashville directly off I-40. The expansive 259-acre property has a pavilion and the use of two private bathrooms with full-size showers are included in the price of your stay. There are 12 individual Tentrr sites on the property.

Campers are within minutes of amazing hiking at Cummins Falls State Park and Burgess Falls Natural Area.  We are also ideally located close to wineries, distilleries, and lots of wildlife. An outdoor concert stage is coming soon for weekend concerts on the property.

Our campground is just a 5-minute drive to Center Hill Lake and Hurricane Marina where you can rent pontoon boats. We're also just a 12-minute drive from Edgar Evins State Park where you'll find 3 boat launches on Center Hill Lake and 11 miles of hiking trails. Nearby outfitter Canoe the Caney offers kayak and canoe rentals and is a Trip Advisor Travelers Choice Award Winner. The combined offerings on our property and within a very short drive make this the perfect campsite for those who like to canoe, kayak, hike, fish, boat, and water ski. 

The Iceman campsite is located 0.55 miles from the front entry gate. It sleeps up to 6 campers - two on the Queen bed in the 10 x 12 platform safari tent and up to 4 additional campers in a pop-up tent that can be provided for a small fee.  The site also comes with a picnic table, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs where you can kick back and take in the stars at night. Our campsite is also pet-friendly with a small pet fee.

There is a Tentrr Loo (camping potty) at your campsite for convenience. Campers will also be able to access two full bathrooms with showers at the Pavilion in the front of the farm. However, the Tentrr Loo is convenient if you need to use the restroom in the middle of the night.

Please note that during the month of October that we host the Halloween Hollow Haunt on our property.  It is operational on weekends (Friday through Sunday) through the end of October and is open from 7 PM to 11 PM on Fridays and Saturdays 7 PM to 10 PM on Sundays.   This attraction is at the front of our farm and not near the tent locations.

If you need basic provisions during your stay, there is a Dollar General store 1 mile from the property.

Guest Access:
Pet Fee: $15 per stay, payable directly to the host at check-in. Bring your furry friend to enjoy this site! Just make sure to pick up after them. Maximum of 2 dogs/pets per unit. Dogs must always be on a leash when outside. Dogs are not to be left in the tents unattended. Please clean up after your pets to avoid a cleaning fee. Pet waste bags will be provided.

This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! 

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. 

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

-S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat
-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling 
-Bedding and pillows

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). If you have any questions regarding modifications to your booking, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support.

Other Things to Note:
- Do pack food, flashlights, and an extra layer to keep you warm if the temperature drops.
- Firewood and Tiki Torches are available as paid extras.  
- If you plan to use the pop-up tent, consider bringing an air mattress or sleeping mat.
- Parents with young children can fit a pack-n-play or twin mattress in the main tent next to the bed.
- Arrival during daytime hours is recommended.
- The access road to the campsites is gravel.
- Quiet hours in effect starting at 10pm.
- Always Leave No Trace! Please take anything you bring in (including garbage) out at the end of your stay.
- Campers should check themselves for ticks after hikes or exploring the property.
- Clean up after your pet.
- Seasonally there is a haunted woods attraction, you can of course go and participate in the haunted woods but make sure you don't wander into the haunted woods. We recommend you stick to the hiking trails - go off the beaten path at your own risk. 
- You are welcome to pick a few of the fruits you see growing if they are ripe. Please don't pick more than you can eat during your stay.

East Tennessee is home to a part of the oldest mountain range in the world, the Great Smoky Mountains. As the name suggests, the peaks are often shrouded in fog, but that doesn’t make the view from Clingmans Dome any less spectacular. At 6,643 feet, Clingmans Dome towers as the highest point in Tennessee and the third highest point east of the Mississippi River. Make sure to say hi to the hardcore hikers, many people hiking the entire Appalachian Trail will stop at this unforgettable lookout. 


A clear day at the dome observatory provides views as far as 100 miles. But explorers camping in Tennessee should plan on hiking their way up to the point, the roadway that leads to the observatory closes during inclement weather and from Dec. 1 to March 31 every year. 


If you’re camping with the kids and they’re looking for more occupation than your campsite offers, many of the natural attractions in Tennessee are also family friendly. Lookout Mountain is only minutes from Chattanooga and offers several world-famous sites like Rock City and the See Seven States point. 


All the mountain peak trails may leave the heights-averse camper less than enthused. But Tennessee has something for everyone. Also at Lookout Mountain, but plummeting beneath ground level, is where you’ll find Ruby Falls, the largest and deepest underground waterfall in the nation.

About the Farm:

We are located on 105 beautiful acres in Nashville, Tennessee. We operate with a relatively small group of people, all with big ideas. While we do stay relatively busy, our primary focus is our land. Our garden has everything from pears to beets to squash, all grown with no chemicals and with our own beehives nearby to help produce a bountiful harvest. Each seed planted and meal cooked inspires new spices to our product line to make our next meal, and yours, even better

We are currently in the process of remediating the farm. It is our hope, that through the sharing of knowledge and action, together we can co-create a more beautiful place than before the festival…

Hundred Acre Woods

Getaway Campgrounds offers a modern, immersive outdoor experience for today’s camper. Each campsite is built for comfort, with clean and modern amenities designed to help you soak in your surroundings.

Our campsites are about 200 square feet with approximately 10’ by 10’ of space for a tent. Each campsite is surrounded by nature and offers a secluded, covered structure complete with a picnic table, hammock, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs.

You’ll also have a kitchenette fit for cooking with a propane burner (plus propane canister), and essentials including oil, salt + pepper, dishware, cutlery, and non-perishable provisions for purchase.

Plus, private bathroom suites (hot shower, toilet, and sink) are nearby.



Getaway Dale Hollow Campground - Tennessee
