"Though $38 a night and more than the other state parks surrounding south Carolina such as NC, AL, GA, MS. Bathroom was clean and showers were nice. Level campspots!"
"I stayed at Trailside Camp Site #2, which is one of their remote, primitive sites at the North Lake and all I can say is wow."

"South Carolina SPs currently have a ban on bringing in firewood, forcing me to buy some at the camp store, leading to my only criticism: The wood was still very green and required significant work to get"
"This campground has 19 trail side sites that are all great and not far from the Middle Saluda River which runs through the middle of the park."

Just a quick stay for us. The roads are a little narrow for a big rig but that's to be expected. Really helpful staff and endless hiking opportunities.
This camping park is very well maintained, clean quiet and just beautiful. Even the restrooms are air-conditioned in the summertime.
This rv park is limited in some ways. There's a club house that's more like a small child's play room, and the play ground has a basketball hoop but no court. However it does offer a small laundry room. The bath house is great! Always clean and stocked, it has good AC/heat, a big spacious shower, hooks for towels and a little table to put your shower stuff on. My least favorite about the park is that pretty much ALL of the sites are under constant sun until it drops behind the trees in the evening which makes the RV super hard to keep cool during the day
Harmony Glen is a lovely place to camp in western North Carolina with a welcoming host to greet you. It is beautiful, green, spacious, and quiet. Only one site on owners' property, so no noisy neighbors. The site is a gravel pad within a green grove of birch and pine trees. Host has a notebook of information to share of surrounding area with notable sites. They include Judaculla Rock, a petroglyph of unknown Native American origin; Great Smoky Mountains National Park; Whitewater Falls, the highest natural waterfall east of the Mississippi River; and the delightful towns of Cashiers, Sylva, and Dillsboro to explore nearby. Come and see!
So fortunate to have stumbled upon this gem. All sites are along the river. RV sites are equipped with electric and water. There is an outhouse and dish wash station. We tent camped and our site was a grassy spot along the river. We had had a picnic table and bbq. Nearby there is a large social fire pit with chairs where we roasted s’mores with our neighbors. There are two rope swings and we brought innertubes. The stairs to the water was perfect for swimming. We stayed for 3 days and it was wonderful!
The campground is VERY remote with challenging access. We have a 4x4 pickup and still not sure how comfortable we would be attempting to take our 21' travel trailer to it.
I'll estimate that the access road is a very rough 4-5 miles and while it starts out as paved the road becomes packed dirt (red clay) and quickly narrows and winds through the hills at a sometimes steep incline. The opportunities to pull over should someone approach from the other direction are few and would mean a lengthy backup for someone. Not sure I would recommend the road in a passenger vehicle.
The campsites we visited were nice and well trimmed, many were creekfront and there were bear-proof trash receptacles and vault toilets. Each site also had a picnic table, fire ring, and lantern pole.
During our visit it was peaceful and mostly empty.
All you might need for a night camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains! The drive there is part of the trip!Drinking water spouts located throughout campsites, with picnic tables and fire rings at each site. Basic camp bathrooms with running water to freshen up. Hike to Frying Pan trail if you have time!! About 4/5 miles total but worth the hike to the lookout tower.
Great spot! I didn’t stay at the pull off but further down the road there’s actual campgrounds with tent platforms and fire rings for dispersed camping. I found the last empty one. It was quiet but there was a bit of cycling traffic up and down the road. They had signs posted about bear activity and I even saw a bear come out 10 feet from my car! Didn’t bother me after walking back down the road. Nice quiet site :)
Full hookups. Campground has several sites with million dollar views and a viewing point for the non view campsites to use. We would recommend it for Asheville area rv camping.
Travelers Rest sits in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains at around 1,100 feet elevation, offering a cooler alternative to South Carolina's lowlands. Tent and RV campers have options ranging from primitive creek-side camping to full-service RV parks within a 30-minute drive.

At Solitude Pointe Cabins & RV Park, "the sites are on level cement pads which makes set up easy," notes Tina H., adding, "It is on a steep hill, but the camp hosts escort you to the site and help navigate your camper in if needed."
Full-hookup options: Several campgrounds provide complete RV hookups. "Full hookups, and the staff helps you back in and level up. Great service," reports Don H. about Solitude Pointe, which is "close to Caesars Head and Table Rock" for convenient access to popular hiking spots.
Wi-Fi and cell service: Connectivity varies significantly between campgrounds. At Black Forest Family Camping Resort, "there is no Cell Reception at the campground but they have WiFi. The WiFi can only be accessed from a few places," according to Chris Y.
