Rutledge Lake RV Resort

Stayed here for one night while traveling through the area. The resort felt safe, the staff friendly, and the bathrooms were very clean. My only complaint is you're shown to your spot by someone in a golf cart who then hovers until tipped (so be sure to have some extra cash ready.) This seemed like an unnecessary service at a location this size with a simple layout.

Quiet campground

I stayed at Rutledge Lake RV Resort July 7-9, 2023. The site was pretty level and the staff was friendly. The sites are packed in fairly close together but my neighbors were all extremely quiet. My Starlink had great line of sight and I had no issues streaming video. My Verizon cell phone also got great reception.

Nice campground

We stayed in two different spots. The first few days we were in 13 and the last day we were in 30. Both were very nice spots. 13 has neighbors that are very close so I liked 30 more because it seems more private. 13 is along the water and it was nice because we could fish. There is a lot of bird poop though so watch your step. The pool is nice and quiet and my kid liked that. The bathrooms claim to be closed from 9am to 12pm every day for cleaning so I felt like that was a huge window of time to have them closed. There is a pool hall and some games in the recreation room but that closes earlier so we never played. Over all, a great time.

Damaged my RV, now won’t fix it!

Upon arrival we were instructed to wait for their attendant to guide us into our spot. He guided us into a roof gutter badly scratching our 40’ Class A. He took pictures & responsibility for the damage & the staff said they were filing an insurance claim with their carrier. We’ve had several phone calls with their office personnel in which they told us they were handling the claim, getting estimates, making the arrangements, etc. & now we received an unsigned email telling us that when we checked in we signed a form “which released us from any loss or damages to property” and that “you are responsible for parking your RV”,even though we were told that their employee had to guide us. These people have been lying to us for weeks & now leave us hanging. I would never recommend this RV Park just based on their unscrupulousness.

Perfect stay in NC

I am extending my stay as we speak ! The entrance is key card only , the park staff are welcoming & helpful. They have a heated pool & lake activities. All of the facilities are nice. The park is up-kept very well.

Great little campground

We had a great stay! We had spot #10 water front. It had plenty of space for the 5 of us and 2 dogs. Nice gravel level sites. Greg was very helpful at leading us back and gave us great information about the area. Bathrooms were always very clean, laundry room was spacious and clean, office staff was kind and helpful. The only thing I would recommend is keeping office open later then 5. When office closes you can not take boats, or kayaks out. So when you spend day out site seeing and return office is closed. Can not get Ice, wood or boat rentals. It was bummer. But over all we loved it here and our stay.

Heat Wave

Great location. Very easy to get to all things Asheville.

Clean, nice pool.

Quiet Little Park. Emphasis on little. Saw several large RVs have trouble getting into their sites.

Very helpful staff. Special shout out to their head of maintenance who let us borrow some tools to fix our air conditioning that broke over a sweltering hot Fourth of July weekend.

The campground is well maintained and the staff are great however I can do without the geese recking havoc at all hours of the night. Those darn birds wouldn’t be quite.

Rutledge

We stayed 2 nights 9/19-9/21/20 it was very crowded. The staff are nice they escorted us to our site. Nice laundry. We drove to little Switzerland but got there on a Sunday as the restaurant was closing so we had BBQ near Black Mountain.  Would stay again.  It was $93.50 for 3 nights.

Expensive, Narrow Site

My husband and I, along with our 2 dogs, stayed at Rutledge Lake RV Resort for 1 night in our Mercedes Sprinter campervan. We prefer to make our reservations online, and found it a bit odd that they actually use a third party booking site that only submits a request to book so we didn't have a confirmed booking until mid-morning the day of our arrival. They also don't offer guaranteed site numbers so you don't know your site until you arrive. In addition, we found out after we arrived that due to the temps we were not supposed to use the water connections. We found it to be to be an extremely expensive reservation, especially given the inability to use the hookups we had purchased. For reference, we paid$68 for one night and had just completed a 4 night stay at another park for$74 total. While the lake was pretty, the sites are very narrow and there is zero privacy. There's also a fair bit of road noise as well. There don't seem to be a ton of great options in the Asheville area and since we needed WiFi in the morning for my husband's work meeting, we opted to stay here, but we wouldn't choose to stay here again in the future. For campers that like lots of amenities, perhaps this is a great fit, but it just wasn't worth it for us. I think it's also worth mentioning that in trying to use the key card the automatic gate dropped on the front of our vehicle, and then in order to park close enough to the hookups my husband hit a post when opening the driver's door.

straight forward and solid

we stayed here 2 nights to experience Asheville.  we toy a vehcilce so driving the 15 minutes into town wasn't a big deal for us.  its affordable and they are helpful getting you into your spots.  Some of which are tight but it was private and clean.  again, we only spent 2 nights but we enjoyed it for what it was.   they have a nice pond that you can fish in as well.  we enjoyed visiting some of the amazing mt bike trails and parks in the area as well!

Clean, well maintained park close to Asheville

Some of the internal resort roads are in need of resurfacing, as there are quite a few potholes. There are a few sites along the creek on the back left that are a little wooded and have some separation, we were in site 86 which was one of them, but most sites are very close together, many probably less than 15’ apart. The resort was mostly full during our stay. The resort is kept very clean and well maintained. The staff is very responsive and helpful. Overall WiFi was problematic. It took numerous attempts on my computer to connect to the numerous router networks that they have to finally get a connection, but once connected(Bathhouse_North1) was able to get up to 1.2 MB/s, but often dropped to next to zero. I was only able to connect our iPhones to one of them(- East) and that one provided next to zero data rate. AT&T had 3 bars and 5 MB/s w/o a booster, 4 bars and 7 MB/s with it. We had no DISH satellite coverage in our site, but other more open sites should. Unfortunately, the cable service was marginal at best, as most channels were snowy at best. The park is aware of the issue, but has not been able to get it resolved. We did have fairly descent OTA TV coverage and channels though.

Wonderful Hosts

We have a great stay, the bathrooms are very nice, second only to Disney. The hosts were unbelievably helpful with our last minute after hours reservation. Space 85 is the way to go, that spot is not crowded and backs up to a creek with a private picnic pavilion!
