A good experience with some caveats

The campground, as all PA State Parks, was well maintained. Here are the caveats however. The "pet loop" was clearly geared towards RVs etc. All of the sites are full electric and more than a few have very little space for a family size tent to be safely away from the fire ring. Ours had…

No Frills, Nice Campground

This is a no-frills RV Park. The campsites are nice, the park is clean, and convenient to I-78. It is set in a rural area surrounded by fields and pastures which makes for a peaceful setting. Roads and campsites are gravel and very easy for RVs of any size to navigate the roads and sites. The…

Surprising Tranquility

We stayed overnight here on our way north. We had no expectations for this KOA. However the drive jn set the stage. It was a long winding road through the forest with a creek running below the road. Utterly magical. Had to park to check in and were led to our site. Our campsite was alongside the…

No camping

A wonderful park to hike at and enjoy, but I called and confirmed they do not offer camping.

Cozy Gem

This campground is cozy, friendly, and has a sweet sounding creek that you camp near. It has many kid friendly amenities as well as being very relaxing. Restaurants and stores less than 10 min away. Wildlife close also..we saw beautiful fawns drinking in stream.

Just OK

The new owners are definitely working hard to improve but lots more to do. We have visited here a few times in the past four or five years and we see the improvements. The location is good for us since we live about 35 minutes away. The sites are level and there are often three point sites…

Heaven on Earth

We have been camping at Starlite with Dave and family for 15+ years. The campground is in a great location with easy access to Lancaster, Hershey and many other places to explore. The facilities are spotless and the campground is maintained to the highest standards I have seen. There are regular…

Pretty area with lots of hiking

Great hiking park. The campground is pretty far from the pool and it’s all hills so you cannot ride your bike, you’ll have to go in the car. Bathrooms were dirty the entire weekend. Sites in C loop seem to be the nicest. The pool looked very big and nice but we could not swim because it was…

Great for kids

Lake with swing and fishing and two pools. No pets no alcohol no store but they have a snack stand. Make sure to get an end campsite or your table will be by the sanitary dump. Large sights kids had fun.

Family Campground with great hiking

We have been to blue rocks twice for tent camping and it is one on my favorite campgrounds. The tent sites are separated from the RVs and are very large sites, so you have some space from your neighbors. There are hiking trails right from the campground to access the Pinnacle, Pulpit rock and…

Rustic Cabin On The Water

Atsion cabins are excellent rustic cabins situated directly on the water. They come in a variety of sizes accommodating up to 7 or 8 people.

They must be reserved in advance and a multiple night rental is necessary. They book quickly during the busy season. However, we rented for Halloween…

Awesome Trails But Close Campsites

Wharton State Forest Batona Campground has some of the best trails I’ve hiked.

Downside is the campsite is tight. You must camp in designated spots and reserve online. Not much distance between sites.

However, with the amount of outdoor activities there really is no reason to stay idle in the…
