      Whispering Hills Jellystone RV Park

      Beautiful area

Whispering Hills Jellystone is a great location for family fun. I can not say enough about how accommodating and helpful the staff was during our visits. There is plenty of activities for families and the dog park was a bonus.

      Wonderfully Updated!

This campground has been wonderfully updated! The owners have added in an additional playground, dog park, newly paved roadways, newly redone building, a new pavilion, fire pit, and boat parking! We love camping here every chance we get! It is convenient to the turnpike and Cedar Point is just a few miles away!

      Middle Ridge/Vermilion Valley Rest Area

Hook up, dump station, quiet and immaculate rest stop ad well.

This is a test area on the Ohio Turnpike. Rv owners can self pay $20 to stay overnight. Quiet area away from the semis and common parking lot, but super close still to the plaza. The plaza offers 5 restaurants and vending machines, a gift shop, and clean restrooms. Sufficient area to exercise pets.

      Sandusky-Bayshore KOA

      Nice campground

We have stayed here twice and will definitely be back. Both times at the end of September. Nice campground, friendly staff, store is well stocked for anything you may have forgotten. The playground and jump mat for kids is awesome. They usually have some kind of activity for kids on weekends. We travel with 2 large Labrador retrievers and love being able to let them play off leash in the kamp k9 dog park. The sites are a little close together and the train is loud but other than that, it’s a wonderful place to stay. Very close to Cedar Point.

      Mt Gilead State Park Campground

      Tiny and close

This campground wasn’t level and the spots are so tiny I should have stayed at the KOA across the street for larger spots. That’s how small these are here. Our spot is on an incline. Full hookups are nice but dog poop galore. The pet owners here (not all of them) just let there dogs go anywhere and leave it. Sad. The camp store is nice and the staff is friendly. Restrooms are clean too.

      Butler-Mohican KOA

Rustic, quiet, beautiful in the Fall

This campground had some rough edges last time I visited (5 years ago). There was a pool and water slide but it was closed in octover when we visited. There are basic restrooms/showers but the water pressure was not so good. There were cabins and sites for tents and campers. My kids liked the playground and pet goats the best. There is a lake for fishing but mosquitos were BAD on our visit. Close to the beautiful Mohican State Park

    Guide to New London

Freedom Valley Campground welcomes dogs of all sizes with designated pet-friendly areas throughout its 125-acre property. Located minutes from New London, this campground maintains clean, well-kept grounds with excellent BBQ available for purchase during peak season. Pets must be leashed in common areas, though several walking paths allow supervised off-leash exercise. Indian Trail Campground offers pet-friendly accommodations across all camping types including tent sites, RV hookups, and climate-controlled cabins. The staff at this campground goes out of their way to ensure campers with pets have great experiences. Both campgrounds provide water stations and waste disposal areas specifically for pets. Seasonal restrictions apply with most pet-friendly sites available from April through mid-October.

Hiking trails accessible directly from campgrounds provide excellent exercise opportunities for dogs, with multiple routes ranging from 1-5 miles. Water features at Cleveland/Sudusky Jellystone Park include a pond where supervised pets can swim in designated areas away from the main beach. During summer months, early morning or evening walks are recommended to avoid hot ground surfaces that can damage paw pads. Most campgrounds enforce quiet hours beginning at 10pm which includes barking regulations. Local regulations require proof of current rabies vaccination, and the nearest emergency veterinary clinic is located 15 minutes away in Wellington. Findley State Park maintains several miles of pet-friendly trails with access to shallow water areas suitable for dogs who enjoy swimming.
