Butler-Mohican KOA

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Fishing, hiking, and water access draw campers to Butler-Mohican KOA, a full-hookup campground operating from early May through late October in Butler, Ohio. The campground sits close to Mohican State Park Campground, making it a practical base for canoeing and trail use in that corridor of mid-Ohio. Sites along the river are among the most requested, and the campground includes a lake for fishing, though visitors should expect mosquitoes, particularly in summer months. Loudonville is the nearest town with a full-size grocery store, so arriving well-stocked is advisable.

Amenities here run toward the well-developed end of the KOA spectrum: electric, water, and sewer hookups accommodate RVs up to 50 feet, and the facility includes a pool, game room, and playground. Restroom cleanliness draws consistent mention in reviews. One reviewer noted the bathrooms were "the cleanest restroom/showers that I've seen at a campground," though another visiting later found them average, so experiences may vary. The pool closes after Labor Day weekend, which is worth factoring into fall trip planning.

Noise levels are a real consideration. Multiple reviewers flag summer weekends as loud, with the campground carrying a reputation as a social, party-friendly destination. Campers prioritizing a low-key stay may want to visit on weekdays or later in the season. Staff receive consistent praise for helpfulness, including escorting guests to their sites on arrival. Pets are allowed, and reservations are available. Book early for river-adjacent sites, as those spots tend to fill first during peak summer weekends.

Nice place

Beautiful sites, especially on the river. Unfortunately for us it's another one of those places that can be quite rowdy during the summer and is known as a party place. Wifey says the bathrooms were average (most important for her).

quiet, rustic camping

Campground is in a beautiful area of mid-Ohio near Mohican State Park. A bit of a drive to get anywhere that has a decent size store (Loudenville). The staff are very nice, they escort you to your campsite and offer to guide you if needed. The pool closed Labor Day weekend so that was disappointing. Lots of things to do in the area, but again a bit of a drive to get there. We would absolutely return here. We also experienced the Mohican Pow Wow

Relaxing Campground!

Great place to camp! Quiet and private, hiking, fishing, pool and gameroom. Very close to Mohican State Park for canoeing and scenery. Also cleanest restroom/showers that i've seen at a campground.

Rustic, quiet, beautiful in the Fall

This campground had some rough edges last time I visited (5 years ago). There was a pool and water slide but it was closed in octover when we visited. There are basic restrooms/showers but the water pressure was not so good. There were cabins and sites for tents and campers. My kids liked the playground and pet goats the best. There is a lake for fishing but mosquitos were BAD on our visit. Close to the beautiful Mohican State Park
