Overview: Jackrabbit Mountain Campground offers scenic lakeside camping in the beautiful Nantahala National Forest of southwestern North Carolina. From May through September, campers can breathe the fresh air of the forest while enjoying numerous recreation activities, including hiking, picnicking, mountain biking, fishing and water sports. Natural Features: The campground is located on a peninsula on Lake Chatuge, a dammed lake on the Hiawassee River. The site sits in a thin pine forest at an elevation of 1,860 feet. Recreation: Lake Chatuge has more than 130 miles of shoreline and plenty of water for recreation. Popular water activities include boating, jet skiing, swimming and fishing. Visitors who wish to stay on dry land can explore hiking, biking and shoreline fishing. Jackrabbit Mountain Recreation Area boasts several hiking trails, and the campground has paved roads for an easy afternoon of bicycling. Mountain bikers can get their wheels dusty on approximately 14 miles of bike-friendly trails. Facilities: This large facility has three loops of well-kept campsites, some of which lie on the water's edge. Families can relax at the swimming beach, while anglers and boaters can use the boat ramp to access the water. The facility is also equipped with accessible showers, flush toilets and picnic shelters. Nearby Attractions: Local attractions include the Fires Creek area, Buck Creek rockhounding area and the Georgia Mountain Fair, which occurs in late July each year.

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, and 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs.

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Our six-acre solar-powered goat farm is a quiet and peaceful slice of paradise away from the chaos and noise but close to so many places to adventure.

Feed and play with the goats, picnic along our grass-covered brook, hang out around the large fire pit and rejuvenate while being close to the many Smoky and Blue Ridge Mountain activities.

Play with our kids! Goat birthing all summer. Hold and play with our newborns.

We have two custom-built Vanlife/RV pads and four grass tent locations overlooking a small brook in a cleared park-like setting.

Internet is provided by Starlink BUSINESS - high speed, low latency, FAST uploading speeds (20mb+), and great for remote workers. Starlink also provides your WIFI calling on mobile devices.

Nearby are numerous hiking trails, lakes, waterfalls, and other outdoor activities such as tubing, white water rafting, and boating. If you just want to chill, you can check out a local swimming hole.

## Overview

Donley Cabin is a primitive and historic structure in the heart of the Cherokee National Forest, offering visitors a glimpse of the past. The cabin does not have electricity, running water or locks on the door. Guests should be aware that visitors often frequent the cabin during tours of the area. It predates the Civil War and is among the oldest cabins available for rental in the Forest Service system. The cabin offers access to a variety of recreational activities, including numerous trails and streams. Visitors must walk a quarter-mile from the parking area, along a slight grade and over a bridge on the North River, to the cabin. All equipment must be carried in. Guests are responsible for their own travel arrangements and safety, and must bring many of their own amenities. No pets are allowed except for service animals. The cabin is available by RESERVATION ONLY. Walk-ins are not allowed.

## Recreation

The one-room cabin contains a full-size metal bed and two bunk beds that can accommodate up to six people. All beds have bed frames but NO mattresses. There are hiking trails and fishing streams in close proximity to the cabin. The nearby Sycamore Creek Trail is a short drive north on Tellico River Road. The 2-mile trail starts near a picnic area and a fish hatchery and follows an old logging road and railroad bed along Sycamore Creek. Big Cove Branch, a tributary to the North River that contains two distinctive waterfalls and trout-fishing opportunities, is also not far from the cabin. Hunting is also a popular activity enjoyed by visitors to the area from September through December. Hunters and their dogs may frequent the nearby trails during that time.

## Facilities

The one-room cabin contains a full-size metal bed and two bunk beds that can accommodate up to six people. There is a rustic fireplace, kitchen table and chairs as well as rocking chairs available to sit on the cabin's front porch. An outhouse with a vault toilet, campfire ring and grill are available outside the cabin.   
  
Guests must bring their own water for drinking, cooking and cleaning purposes, as well as lanterns or flashlights, bedding, towels, cooking and eating gear, food, garbage bags, toilet paper and other necessities. Firewood that is dead and down may be obtained from the surrounding forest.

## Natural Features

The restored cabin sits in a wooded area of the forest's Tellico River area, at an elevation of 2,000 feet. This part of the forest is known for its three rivers, their tributaries and waterfalls. The cabin is several miles north the 90-foot Bald River Falls. A variety of wildlife make its home in the area. The area is also known for its abundant brown, rainbow and book trout. Snakes and mice can be seen in the area as well. The surrounding foliage is beautiful in the fall. 

## Nearby Attractions

Driving in or out, guests can visit the mountain town of Tellico Plains, which is known for its arts and crafts. Guest can also enjoy the Cherohala Skyway, the 43-mile National Scenic Byway that stretches from Tellico Plains, Tennessee, to Robbinsville, North Carolina.

We can't adequately describe how peaceful it is to listen to creek and the birds while watching the sunset turn the sky purple over the Smoky Mountains at our "Backside" campground. With 6 acres of complete solidarity one mile from the nearest paved road, evenings around the firepit w/ the stars are simply magical! Local activities include cliff jumping at a secret swimming hole, hiking the Appalachian and Bartram trails, waterfall bathing, kayaking on the lake, & whitewater rafting the Nantahala River. There are 6 large tent campsites with 2 shared fire pits, a porta-potty, a fresh water creek, & picnic tables. The lack of Cell Reception means this site is for true adventurers who want to Disconnect in order to Re-Connect with the ones they bring.



Backside Campground at Nantahala 

Forested 15 acre lot with a beautiful grassy meadow, and a meandering stream with shallow spots to cool off on a hot day. Pitch your tent where ever you'd like. There is fresh drinking water, on site garbage, picnic tables, firepits, firewood availible for purchase, and a well maintained portajohn.

We are minutes away from Nantahala Lake, Nantahala River, and Appalachian Trail. Enjoy near by white water rafting, fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, kayaking, zip lines and more… If you're not up for cooking there's a local restaurant on the lake 5 minutes away as well as the Nantahala Outdoor Center a short 20 minute drive.

Hello, our names are Jacob and Lauren Payne and we are new glamp site owners. We are super excited to open our property to glampers. Our glamping site sits near the corner of our 10 acre farm and is bordered by forest service land. While you are here, we hope you enjoy the peace and serenity of the quiet country life, while still being close enough to local amenities and attractions to be convenient. We are within short driving distance to numerous areas of interest in the southern Appalachian mountains to include Georgias highest point at Brasstown Bald. Other local attractions include Vogel State Park, Helton Creek Falls, Farmers Market, access to Application trail and many more. Additionally our site is a refreshing 10-15 minute walk/hike through the forest to a private cove on beautiful Lake Nottely which sits about 400 yards from the site. We are excited to share this experience with you!

Other Things to Note:
You are free to explore the farm and interact with the goats, rabbits, and donkey.  The donkey may try to bite, especially females (you have to hold your bra on tight with him), All the animals love carrots, apples, and ginger snaps.  Fishing in the ponds is allowed (catch and release only) and be sure to visit the farm store for local crafts.  Be sure to visit the art studio and gallery located behind the barn on the farm.
