GuideThis was a nice spot to camp overnight before an event in the area. There were mosquitoes a plenty due to the lake. Good spacing between sites and wooded enough to almost forget how close you are to i35. There is some traffic noise though as a city dweller I slept right through it. Pit toilets were clean.

TravelerThe website is a bit deceptive. We came up with our camper with the expectation we’d have electric and water hook ups. For the most part we did. The electricity was not for a 30 amp hook up. It’s 50 amp or us an adapter. We used the adapter and blew a circuit breaker when we used the A/C and the microwave at the same time. The fishing on the property is fly fishing only. My kids were pretty disappointed but we tried it out anyway. It was nice to have kayaks and paddle boards to try for free, but everything else is a charge. Feeding the cow is a charge. We’re from a rural area where people will pay you to feed the cows so it was a little confusing to us. We really came for the state park and that’s where we spent most of the day. I think this campground has a lot of potential but there needs to be a lot of work. Sewer hook ups and upgrades to electrical hooks. Shower upgrades, maybe switch to coin opt showers to offset the price. This is a great campground for adults looking for a quiet weekend. Not a lot of kids and people stick to themselves.
TravelerDidn’t reserve ahead of time took the last spot available it was a ADA spot. Was $28 a night and non resident with a state park sticker is an additional $15… spot had no hook ups pit toilet next door up hill.
LegendI love campgrounds where you get to camp amongst the tall pines (not sure what kind they are)! Large campground with lots of amenities! Right off the highway so you will get some road noise even at night. But if you're lucky to have a site farther from the road you really can't hear much!

sites 1-38 have sewer hookups and every site has water and electric hookups. There is a shower and bathroom building. Swimming beach, fish cleaning station, public boat launch, boat dock rental, RV dump station are also available.
LegendSuch a cute little city park!! Tent loop and camper loop are quite separated so be sure to watch the signs when you're coming in! Fire pits and picnic tables at each site. Outhouse and picnic shelter in the tent loop. Looks like the beach and playground is in or close to the camper loop but I didn't make it over there in the time I had here! Would definitely return if it's on my trip route in the future!!
RangerNice enough country campground, with some beautiful lake views, especially the newer section on the west side. This area has sites with W/E and full hookups. The older section of the campground is electric only. This area has several tight turns and hard to back into sites, but is more wooded than the newer section. The new side has widely spaced sites with tall pines. Taking off one star for the coin-operated showers and the absolutely ridiculous placement of the dump station that requires maneuvering around one of the campground loops and blocking part of a main road to dump from the correct side of your RV. An updated dump site in the new section would be a big plus….
LegendSt. Croix SP: was quite buggy due to a lot of recent rain. Highly recommend fogging your site or having a bug enclosure to help ward of the mosquitos. Multiple restrooms and showers throughout the campgrounds. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table and wood can be purchased at the office. Cell service is fairly spotty here so come with podcasts or shows downloaded ahead of time!
