River Rock Recreation is a seasonal campsite that offers a retreat to a Primitive Susquehanna River Front Tent Camping Experience. You can expect a large rustic campsite, dry camping with no hook ups or facilities but with enough amenities to keep your camp trip running smoothly.

We want campers to have an enjoyable stay and connect with nature! River Rock Recreation campsite is located along the banks of the mighty Susquehanna River in Bainbridge, Conoy Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. An area rich with historic significance and breath taking scenery. From the rolling hills of Lancaster County, Chickies Rock, the sculpted rock visible at the bottom of Conewago Falls, the White Cliffs of Conoy, and the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail there is no shortage of adventure.

Our campsite offers the combination of camping fun and endless variety of recreation and leisure activities. Here at River Rock Recreation we offer an outdoor experience in a large single campsite, that ensures the overwhelming and crowded camping experiences of the past don't have to be part of your future! Camping is our Avocation. Exploring is our Nature. Adventure is our Vision. The Outdoors is our Passion. River Rock Recreation strives to provide campers with a primitive campsite that is both family friendly and versatile, to accommodate your desired camping experience. To be done in a way, that promotes safety, nature, the exploration of local features and history, with the intentions of creating personal connections with nature. Firewood bundle(s) and hammock rentals are included in your reservation. (Amount of firewood and hammock rentals are predetermined based on amount of campers) Firewood included in your reservation will be exchanged during check in and Hammocks will be collected at check out. (Or left at campsite while checking out unassisted.)

Come stay in the tranquil beauty of the Maryland countryside, conveniently located just 10 minutes from the heart of Westminster. Here you can cuddle with the cows, hang out with the hogs, and chill with the chickens. A family-run, working small farm, built in the 1800s, we are dedicated to improving the land, soil, plants, and wildlife, through Regenerative Agriculture with all-natural, chemical, hormone, anti-biotic, and GMO-free methods. We raise and breed Rare Heritage Livestock in a conservation program to keep these genetic lines alive and diverse. Several of our breeds are listed on the Slow Foods Ark of Taste. Our farm practices invite loads of wildlife, including herons, fox, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, deer, bald eagles, red-tailed hawk, and more.

Don’t pack too much food, we’ve got you covered! We carry a full array of retail cuts of Beef, Pork, Chicken, as well as local honey, cheese, milk, yogurt smoothies, eggs, pet treats, and our Artisanal Charcuterie Salami and Cheese Pairings!

The Hollofield Area of Patapsco is located almost in the center of the Park along Rt 40 (Baltimore National Pike) making it a great place for camping near Washington. Home to The Patapsco Valley State Park Headquarters and one of two campgrounds in the park,  This area is perfect for a family gathering or a quick picnic lunch while on your lunch break from work. The Ole Ranger Trail or Peaceful Pond trail provide a quick respite or workout in a beautiful setting just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Baltimore. Anglers can gain access to the river by following Union Dam trail down to the river.

The Hollofield Area boasts one of the most stunning views of the Patapsco River Valley. The Overlook changes with every season from the brilliant greens of spring to the rich colors of fall. This is a perfect place to view the changing blanket of the seasons. You can see historic Rt. 40 Bridge to the North. You can see the River peek through when the leaves fall from the trees in winter. In the spring new green leaves blanket the valley and in fall the patchwork of color provides spectacular views of the Patapsco River Valley.

Our campground is a little piece of wilderness in the middle of suburban Baltimore. While occasionally you can hear the buzz of cars along Rt. 40 or see a nearby neighborhood through the trees, you really feel like you’re away from everyday trappings enjoying the great outdoors when camping with us.

The Hollofield campground has 73 campsites, some with electric hookups. Each campsite has a picnic table and a fire ring. All equipment must be positioned on the designated camping pad and driveway.

Our farm has 30 private acres of open fields, rolling terrain, wooded areas, and a running stream for wading and exploring. We are a scenic and easy 10 min drive from I-70 New Market, MD. Hang out with family and friends at your private campsite or enjoy music and libations at one of the many local wineries/breweries- most have weekend music festivals and food trucks during spring, summer, and fall months. Located in walking distance(1 mile) to Linganore Winery and Red Shedman Brewery, we are centrally located to eight other wineries and breweries that are an easy ten minute drive through scenic Frederick County farmland. Hiking more your thing? The Appalachian Trail is a mere 30 min drive and the historic C&O Canal(great for biking, jogging, hiking, and horseback riding) is a 30 min drive as well. Kayaking, tubing, rafting, and horseback riding are available in historic Harper's Ferry(35 mins) too. While there, you can check out the local shops, the C&O canal, hiking trails, and a self-guided tour of John Brown's Raid. There are plenty of local creameries(working dairy farms selling homemade ice cream, cheeses, and more) and farmer's markets for fresh farm to table fruits, veggies, and meats. Fine dining, history, and quaint antique stores more your thing? We've got you there too! Historic Mount Airy(10 mins) has lots of specialty shops and some farm to table restaurants, New Market(10 mins) has a plethora of quaint antiques stores, and Frederick(20 mins) has lots and lots of speciality shops and farm to table restaurants.
