Excellent Park, primarily for seasonal campers

Had to overcome a minor bit of confusion at checkin but the staff resolved it reasonably quickly. I have a non-traditional RV, which I informed the campground of when I made the reservation, but the gate security wasn’t aware. A manager came by the following day to explain the campgrounds standards, allowed me to stay for the length of my reservation, but ensured I understood I couldn’t stay again with this camper. No issues. It’s private property and they can certainly decide who can rent their spots.

The campground itself is in excellent condition. While it is primarily occupied by seasonal units, they don’t seem to be victim of neglect in the way they so often are.

The restrooms were clean and modern. The laundry facility was clean, all machines operational.

The camp store has minimal stock, but does have the things you might need in a pinch, and there are full service grocery stores close enough that it shouldn’t be a problem.

The staff that I interacted with were excellent.

The park is expensive (based solely on my experience). It’s about 25 miles from the Gettysburg battlefield. That may account for the premium prices.

Enjoyed it but it was a little lacking

We really did enjoy our stay here! The staff was very friendly and our site was a good location. People were all friendly and welcoming! We came in early fall with 3 kids. They LOVED the animals and we fed them at the allotted time every morning and went to visit at other times. Beyond that though, we found there wasn’t too much to do. There was a nice little store with hand dipped ice cream — I believe normally there’s a game room, but it had flooded so it wasn’t open. There is also mini golf for a very small fee, though it was a little rough — covered in leaves and twigs (makes for a challenging game!) Also there was small playground. On a different part of the property there were some swings that left much to be desired — so, not too much for kids to do but hang out with the animals (which we did love and was the reason we came!) littler to no cell service where we were on the site.

Animal Fun and Frolic

This was a fast favorite! We were there around Halloween and they had decorated the park so nicely. The sounds of the farm animals all around was fun and amusing for us. It was an easy hike as suggested on the map to circle around and through the cornfield, you get a great view of the farms nearby and the river. The country store has souvenirs, sundries, snacks and ice cream. You can buy firewood there too. The main attraction is the animals, but there is also a cute playground for the kids.

A new "favorite" for us

What's better then hanging out camping on a working farm? Only downfall for us was it's was cold and we could only stay one night as we were heading south to get our car. We are full time rv'ers and needed a place to spend heading down. It is a thousand trails campground so free to us as members. We were in c103. If you love farm animals, that is the spot to be. Got a kick out of the children playing with the kids ( baby goats ) pigs, goats, chickens, horses and even lamas. Plenty to see and learn . Prefect campground for the family.

Family Fun

We came amidst COVID-19, so the many activities and events this location usually holds are down, BUT there is still fun to be had here! We chose a non-sewage site, the loop is quiet and large and they have the honey wagon 3x a week (free sewage dump service). We've enjoyed mini-golf, feeding the animals, "hiking" through the cornfield, fishing, and campfires. The weather is perfect right now highs reaching low 80s, so the evenings are super lovely! There is also a pool, hopscotch, a swing set, and a playground open as well.  We haven't traveled into historic Gettysburg yet, but it's not too far from here.

Nice and quiet

The campgrounds were very nice and well kept up with. It seemed most campers stayed in their RVs most of the time. The pool was great, especially camping with younger kids. The bathroom near the pool left a little something to be desired. It wasn’t filthy but also wasn’t sparking clean. It was great being close to the battlefield.

Loved it

I personally loved this RV park, very clean and everyone was very friendly. it was really muddy when we arrived but it had rained for a few days prior to our visit. Loved all the animals. It was pretty close to Gettysburg so there is alot to do, nice playground and open fields.

The only downside to this campground is the pick your own spot. We got there later in the evening and it was really difficult to find something in the dark.
