    Like this park

Good park, new owner with great plans. Quiet with a fair amount of long-term residents, this park has many amenities ; bathhouse and laundry, pool picnic tables at each site, most pull-through with full hook-ups.

    Parkside RV Park

    New Park; Affordable Sites

If you are looking for a safe, affordable RV park with level sites, you’ll want to stay at the brand-new Parkside RV Park. The staff is friendly, customer service is great and the park clean!

This RV Park is a new build and opened in 2021. You can tell it was built to overcome the obstacles you find at older RV Parks. The spaces are all level, paved, and long and wide enough to fit your RV and two vehicles. The water, sewer and electrical are all new and work! You can reserve and pay for your site online, do self-check-in and the park emails guest about happenings at the RV Park so you stay informed about current events.

The RV Park has free WIFI, dog waste stations, security camera, streetlights and two washers and dryers for guests to use for free. There are four individual bathroom that can be accessed by a code. Since the landscaping is all new at the RV Park, the trees are not mature enough to provide shade. Once the trees grow, it looks like each RV site will have a tree at the back of the site. You are drop off your garbage in the dumpster on your way driving out of the park or set it out by the road and it will get picked up.

The RV Park was built next to the entrance to the St. Julien Park which holds the Broussard Sports Complex and has a gate for guest to walk into the park. St. Julien Park offers bathrooms, free WIFI, drinking fountains, walking trails, dog waste stations, disc golf, catch and release ponds, security camera and several areas for locals to play sports. It’s a very well-kept park!

Something to consider before arriving. You’ll need a long sewer hose; the sewer hook ups are at the very back of the site. No one mans the office after hours. If a storm rolls through, you only have the 4 bathrooms and laundry room area to seek shelter. The streetlights are on all night for safety, if you like a dark room for sleeping, you’ll want to have blackout shades or wear a sleeping eye mask. I don’t know how you get a picnic table, there were only a few throughout the park at RV sites. This is also not a “party” type RV Park. They ask if you drink outside, to do it discretely.

    very nice older park

Beautiful tall pines amongst the level, for the most part, campsites. Electric & water at sites, but no sewer. Full hook up sites are being built. Senior discount got 10% off. Only stayed one night for about $26.00. We lucked into the primo spot on the lake point and super level. Highly recommend this park, but undestand that it fills up fast, especially on the weekend. The best park we came across on our Louisiana trip.

    Gator Grounds RV Resort

Nice RV park, great amenities, rude manager

Gator Grounds is a great private RV park near Bunkie, LA. We stayed two nights. Most of the sites are not shady. The park streets are concrete and sites are small crushed limestone. The park was clean and the staff was friendly, except for the manager. We went to the pool/slide area after setting up camp the evening of July 2. The big slide was closed. A staff person said they were short handed. We tried the yellow slide. My kids had no trouble, but I got stuck several times. My kids continued to slide while I went to the lazy river. Unfortunately we didn't have much time because we didn't realize the outside pool area closes at 7pm. Bummer! Really? Fourth of July weekend and you close down at 7pm! As we left my kids told me the manager was rude. She yelled at them for going down the slide doubled up. Ok, maybe that's against the rules, but there was no lifeguard at the top of the slide and the slide is not dangerous. Many kids were doing the same thing. The manager argued with my kids there was a lifeguard, even though I personally saw there wasn't. She also argued with them that they had been there for hours even though we only arrived less than 30 minutes ago. The fireworks show July 2nd night was very good. I was surprised how good and long it was. Included music, too. The rest of the weekend was great. Had a lot of fun playing beach volleyball with another family we met. Fortunately, the big slide was open July 3rd. But the outside pool area closed at 7pm again. One nice feature is they let you bring your own ice chest to the pavilion area by the pools. I didn't use the restrooms myself, but my kids said they were not clean.

Amenities include pools, water slides, lazy river, hot tubs, volleyball pool, indoor pool/slide/splash pad, beach volleyball court, basketball court, hay bale"obstacle course", pond, camp store, mini restaurant, trash pickup, and golf cart rental. There is a zip-line area, but it didn't look open and we didn't ask about it. Stayed in back-in campsite#116 which was not shady but level. It was a crushed limestone site with some landscaping on either side and grass in the back. There are some trees planted between the sites, but it will be some years before they provide significant shade. There was enough parking for my 34 ft TT and truck. Neighbors are close by not crammed in. The site included: picnic table and fire ring. Utilities: 20/30/50A electric in middle of site. Water in middle of site, good pressure. Sewer in middle of site with 4-in screw-on fitting.

AT&T had 2 bars of LTE. AT&T Speedtest: 7.6 Mbps down, 1.07 Mbps up. Did not use the WiFi service. Would probably stay here again, especially with a group. We camped at Gator Grounds RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

    Indian Creek Recreation Area

    Great Campground and Recreation Area

Let me say first of all, that this is a great campground and recreation area.  For the time we went, September 24-26, 2021, the campground was highly populated.  Friday night and Saturday starting early, it was a bit of a party atmosphere.  Lots of golf carts cruising and loud music.  Sunday was a bit more mellow.  There is nothing wrong with that, just not the type of crowd I was expecting at a forested state park.  I see this type of atmosphere as an RV Resort type atmosphere (such as Cajun Palms).  Maybe this is not typical and it was a one off.

The lake is beautiful and great for paddling or boating.  There are a couple of beaches, which would be great for young kids/families.  The nature trail is respectable in terms of length and quality.  This park has a little bit of everything to fill your time and keep you busy.

    Water, Hiking, and Family Fun

We stayed in site 109, which is a full hook up site. Slightly unlevel, needed blocks on the right side. There was some trash left in the burn barrel, a few beer caps, and cig butts on the ground, but otherwise, basically, ok. There is a beautiful lake for kayaking, boating, and fishing. A nice playground area, a laundry facility, and shower room.

Nice RV park. Convenient for canoeing in Bayou Teche.

Poches RV park is nice, well maintained, and has number of amenities. We had a wonderful weekend stay, and the weather was perfect. We canoed in the Shake Your Trail Feather festival on Bayou Teche. The RV park was close the the canoe trailhead. Take the time to explore the city of Breaux Bridge.

Go to Poches Market and buy some pork sausage stuffed with jalapeos. Also, be sure to make a reservation and go eat at Little Big Cup in Arnaudville about 15 minutes away.

Stayed in campsite#69. Back-in site with concrete parking, picnic table, and fire ring. 15A/30A/50A, water, and sewer hookups. It has a nice grass area with fire pit in the rear of the site next to the lake. Not much shade in the campsite. The site is located on the lake. Neighbors were pretty close. Roads in the park were asphalt or gravel. The free WiFi throughout the park was adequate for checking emails, surfing the web, etc. We camped in a Travel Trailer. Would stay here again. We camped at Poche's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

    Loud but fun activities

Our toddler liked the kids pool a lot and it’s one of those pools that is very shallow so you don’t feel as “on edge” having to keep eyes on your child at every moment. There are more adult pools with swim up bars but we spent more time at the kids pool and eating there. We especially loved the golf cart drive up access at the donut place and Crawfish Town restaurant out front. This park definitely has more of a party atmosphere but was still a great park with clean facilities and full hook ups.

RANGER REVIEW:BANNER AND OAK T-SHIRT AT PARAGON CASINO RESORT RV PARK

PRODUCT REVIEW BANNER AND OAK T-SHIRT As a Ranger for The Dyrt, I get products to test from time to time - today I am testing a Banner and Oak T-shirt. https://bannerandoak.com/products/camp-navy?variant=441825624068&currency=USD&gclid=CjwKCAjwtO7qBRBQEiwAl5WC2_0XqYiJxOuate5OBrZoqMXBxOQJYNVPo5C4gRHVLoRXmsNnkAvO9BoCA78QAvD_BwE This shirt is fantastic! My husband is very tough on clothes, but after several washes, it still maintains it's size and shape! The shirt is super soft and held up well in the extreme heat of Louisiana summer. Thanks for the honor of trying this out, and I hope you all do as well! You won't be disappointed! CAMPGROUND REVIEW: PARAGON CASINO RESORT AND RV PARK When my sons suggested that we all go camping here, I was leary at first. I thought since it was a Casino that it would be all concrete and flashing lights. I am a woods and water type of girl so I really didn't want to go, but am glad I did! There was ample room for our camper which is 32 feet. Our site number 3, had full hookups and room for a couple of canapies. (Very little shade!) Also had a concrete picnic table and lots of space between campers. The kids were able to go swimming in the large outdoor pool. There's also one inside! There is a walking trail, golf course and of course, if you gamble the casino. If it rains there's also a movie theater. I didn't use the showers or laundry facilities but they had those provided, too.

    Great Infrastructure, Great Price

I was impressed with this place. They spared no expense in developing and maintaining this park. I was there in late March and the place was only about 25-30% full. We had ample privacy. The only thing I didn’t like was the lack of bathrooms in the park. There was only one in the office building. I like to rely on park bathrooms as much as possible. This place is designed for self-contained RV camping. I needed cash so I went into the casino and used an ATM. I was charged a$5 fee. Grrrr.  You can't beat the price for a full hookup.

    Beyond Thunderdome

After the excessive affluence of southern California, this bare-bones RV park felt a little frightening. It is adjacent to a gas station and there's no vegetation, but there are some old mattresses and the like. However, the gas station is convenient, there is a nice little store with personal use restrooms, and a there's a well-kept coin laundry. This is not the kind of RV park where merry couples are enjoying their retirement. Instead, it is a place where hard-working people are doing their best to get by. Despite everyone being actually quite friendly, I would have felt a little more relaxed if I had a large dog with me. Or a very smart monkey.

Beautiful Park, Not Close Enough to Downtown

This is a really nice RV park, and you get a multi day Passport America 1/2 off discount, which is nice (usually the discount is only for one night). Sites are tight, as most RV parks are. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. Nice showers and laundry rooms. Hot tub was fun but kind of awkward to use, it was out on the marina side, just kind of on the sidewalk.

We did not eat at the restaurant on site but the store was really nice. They have a daily Katrina documentary playing.

There is no shuttle to downtown anymore. A free shuttle would have made our stay perfect. We don't have a tow car, so getting downtown was a little bit of a hassle. We took the city bus, which was fine, and cheap (something like $1.25) but the bus stop was a mile away and the ride downtown took about an hour. We took Lyft, which came to almost $20 each way. They gave us the name of a guy who will pick you up and bring you back, but that would have come to more than the Lyft.

This was a really nice, beautiful, clean, quiet, peaceful place but next time we're in NOLA we're going to see about staying at the RV park that's right near the French Quarter.

    Kinder, LA….A favorite

Check in was a breeze. Ample sized cement sites with picnic tables. Our 42” 5th wheel has 4 slides and the site was roomy. Hookups we’re good. We were close to dog park which was perfect. Lovely clean campground. The lodge where you register was pretty. Could be marked better as it doesn’t mention anything about registration. There is a guard shack but doesn’t seem to be managed 24/7. So it’s kind of a false sense of security. The pool is large but a long way from the rv park itself. They have a 24 hour shuttle that takes to back and forth to casino. That really is all there is to do here as Lake Charles is 44 min away. We had some people at their camper who felt they should share their music with the entire park. I realize they’re allowed to have loud music until a certain time- however when you can hear it over your TV while sitting in your camper I just think that’s rude! The laundry is very small considering the size of the park and it seemed that people from the hotel used it which I don’t understand as it’s for the RV park. They have 4 dryers only 2 working, 4 washers only 3 working. I had to wait for people to finish with washers and dryers in order to do my 2 loads. Never spent 3 hours doing laundry before. These people were definitely NOT rv’ers! They had suitcases!

    Super Nice Place

We enjoyed a weekend without RV backed p to the pond.  Cement lots with fire circle of metal.  Be careful though in picking your spots because some are in the way back and have no trees, which could be brutal in a Louisiana summer.  Nice playground for kids, mini-golf, and clean laundry mat.  There is a great cajun meat shop at the entrance to the RV park.  Lots of trees and shade at our location.  Would have given it five stars, but too close to the highway, so lots of road noise.

    Pricey overnight

Horribly overpriced, but level gravel sites with concrete pads and FHUs. Nice bathrooms and showers. This is a “nothing” RV park though, a couple of long termers and a bunch of empty sites. Not sure what the resort price (it should be half of this) justifies. The park is situated between a laser tag joint and a lower end motel, but kudos to its nearness to I-10. Easy check in – sent a text to confirm I was in my site. No one here to greet us.

    Friendly RV park

We came here to stay after evacuating from hurricane Sally. We stayed 8 days. It’s a nice rv park. The pool is great. The lazy river has a great current, the best I’ve experienced so far, RV campground wise. Due to Covid restrictions, there were limitations and not much going on. Outside of that, I’m sure this park is amazing when there aren’t restrictions in place. There were some full timers there and they were so nice and welcoming. The office staff and owner were very friendly to us, as well. The WiFi was very good! I was very thankful for that. Pros: Pool/Lazy River, WiFi, friendly campers and staff, “gated”, fire pit. Cons: no shade, no tubes for pool (bring your own), no 24/7 accessible bath house.

We recommend and will go back again for sure.

Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge

    Super fun place to be

Our site was $63 a night for 5 nights & $79 for two nights. We got a weekly rate of $574.16

We were in Site# 2144 The check in was at 12pm and Check out is at 11am.
We had Full hook- up with a concrete pull-through.
We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep.

The site was easy to level.

Our site was fairly shaded with one tree. This was a smaller lot with our neighbors fairly close.

The lot comes with a concrete patio with picnic table and fire ring.

It is an easy access to the campground from highway -(less than 1 mile from highway).

There is free WiFi. They offer Cable TV and there are many channels.

There is not a community outdoor kitchen but do have quite a few community fire pits.
They sell wood but were out the entire week we were there.

They pickup your garbage at your site daily.

You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They also allow you to rent golf carts. It is beneficial to have a golf cart to get around since it is a large campground. They would not let us use our e-bikes around the campground.

They do have multiple swimming pools including a water playground and splash pad. There is a huge hot tub. We especially loved the 21+pool with swim up bar. Water Amenities are open from March 29th-October 26th. You can also rent poolside cabanas. They have a few smaller ponds for catch & release fishing.

They have a decent general store with some food, accessories, and clothes options.

There is a separate Activity Center for kids. There are tons of scheduled activities for kids like gem mining, tie dying, candle making, candy bar bingo, sand art, etc.

There is a Playground. They also offer pickleball, cornhole, and basketball sport court. There is a Game room for kids. They have a workout room for adults.

There are three bars (one serving food) and a separate concession stand that also serves food.

Right outside of the park is a delicious restaurant/fresh seafood market with a daiquiri drive thru (many flavors).

There is live music on site!

The streets are paved and good for riding bikes. There is not really anywhere to ride bikes outside of campground.

They have multiple RV slip options along with cabins/cottages/villas for rent. Tent camping is not allowed.

They have many shower houses. The shower house has individual bathrooms with your own sink, shower, toilet. These are kept very clean.

There is a few laundry facilities. They allow you to use cash or credit card. It is approximately $2 to wash and $2to dry a load.

They have a fenced in dog park (Barkaritaville) with a dog wash. It is located in the back far corner of the park.

Bugs were a little bit of an issue and bug spray was definitely needed.

There were no trails to hike in the campground but the park is so huge, it is a great walk within itself.

We shopped at the local market outside of the park and the Piggly Wiggly. We went on the Cajun Food Tour and definitely recommend this (link on CM’s website).

    PRETTY, BUT NOISY

Don't get me wrong, I am not antisocial, but when I go camping I really want the natural quiet of nature. It was pretty busy, with many people gathered and partying. Kids driving crazy on golf carts. Otherwise, the property is pretty. The sites are easily accessible (our camper is approximately 30 ft). The showers were not available d/t covid 19, but were there. Our site 12 was level and had full hookups. Pet friendly. Large trees. Store on site and snack shop near the beach. Very kid friendly.
