Water enthusiasts will find both indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities at Gator Grounds RV Resort, a private campground that operates year-round recreational amenities alongside full-hookup RV sites. The resort sits on open terrain with concrete streets and crushed limestone sites, most lacking natural shade though newly planted trees between sites will provide coverage as they mature.
The campground centers around its water park complex, featuring outdoor pools, water slides, a lazy river, hot tubs, and an indoor pool with splash pad that remains heated during cooler months. Additional recreation includes beach volleyball, basketball courts, a fishing pond, and seasonal activities like Halloween costume contests where campers decorate their sites. "Summer is awesome because of the outdoor AND indoor water park," notes Josh B.. The facility also provides golf cart rentals, a camp store, and mini restaurant.
Sites include picnic tables and fire rings with 20/30/50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections centrally located. Reviewers consistently mention the park's cleanliness and level gravel sites, though restroom conditions receive mixed feedback. The sites in the 70s section offer more shade and are frequently recommended by returning visitors.
For a quieter alternative, Jimmy Davis State Park Campground provides lakeside camping with hiking trails and a more natural setting.
