Noel's On The River RV Park

    Single Lane RV Waterfront Alleyway

One of a handful of single-lane RV parking lanes, Noels RV Park on the River, is anchored right off Indian River, with immediate access to Mosquito Lagoon, further south. While only a 20 minute drive from busy I95, you’ll find yourself swept away to riverfront silence, unless you count the slushing of currents up against your boat or kayak unwanted noise. And be careful, if you drive just a bit too fast past the sign calling you over to Noels, you might just miss the place. In fact, even if you do see the sign, you will have to follow a sign that would have you believe that you were actually at Lathrom’s Landing RV Park & Fish Camp, but if keep heading towards the water upon coming to a fork(OK, more like a splinter!), just keep heading south/ right and you’ll come to this waterfront RV parking paradise.

While just on the outskirts due south of Oak Hill, you’ll find this little seaside town does little else but spend its time either on the water and doing something that connects to it (like renting you anything you’d ever want once on the water). While most folks will (want to) spend the majority of their time on the water or near it, as Canaveral National Seashore is one of the most amazing oceanfront destinations in all of Florida, further inland is Turnbull Hammock Conservation Area, which has tons of trails, which as a seasoned hiker, I thoroughly enjoyed.

Back to Noels, if you have an RV (sorry tent campers, there’s no room at the inn for us!), this place has all of the standard amenities from traditional hookups(30/50 amp electrical, water and sewage), pebble-strewn flat lanes to park your mobile living room and a few scattered picnic tables. One word of caution is that the slots themselves will have you parked uncomfortably close to your neighbors, so bring earplugs! There’s also laundry, shower and restroom facilities as well as being pet-friendly. There’s a clubhouse over at Lathrom’s that honestly nobody any issue with us visiting and cooking at as well as a long 270 feet fishing and shrimping pier.

Insider’s tips? If you need anything, go visit the good people at Oak Hill Country Store who have just about everything you may have forgotten or need to stock up on. And if you get tired(or bored) of cooking every meal, head on over to Goodrich Seafood Restaurant for some deep friend everything – this seminal joint has been feeding residents of Oak Hill since anyone can remember. Lastly, if you are looking for some good trails to experience the best of what this area has to offer in the way of nature, be sure to check out Seminole Rest – it’s just a short hike down the road from Noel’s.

    Happy Camping!

    Jetty Park Campground

    Bad

No dogs allowed and they like many Florida parks should have some way for Fl residence to actually be able to camp in Florida but no they don’t

    Oak Hill Fish Camp

    Dockside Fish Camp Bliss

You know you’ve really discovered the secret to living here in NE Florida when you come across one of these traditional fish camps that offer up direct access to the water as well as waterfront amenities like SUPs, canoes and kayaks in addition to plenty of places to easily cast a line. Look no further than Oak Hill Fish Camp & RV Resort, which is located directly on the Intracoastal waterway right near Mosquito Lagoon. One bit of advice? Bring your mosquito repellant!

Wife and husband duo, Dave & Chrissy, run this place and are just some of the most pleasant folks you’ll ever meet. Like me, they’ve come from the wintery north, so they sure enjoy the home and business they’ve founded next to Florida shores. One of the many things that they recommend is that if you are looking for somewhere to camp, there’s actually a handful of really great options that can be accessed by boat. For more on backcountry island camping, check this link out: www.nps.gov/cana/planyourvisit/permits.htm

Area fisherman have been flocking to these parts for over a hundred years in search of Redfish and Snook, where with the right bait, you’ll be sure to catch plenty. While this place rents waterfront cabins, complete with their own private piers, there is plenty of room for RV’s (no pull-throughs though), so you can either rent a cabin in addition to your RV or simply rent a plot of land to park your RV and take advantage of some of the best boat launch points on the eastern coast of FL. And if you’re a tent camper, sorry, this place doesn’t accommodate us.

There’s tons of natural wildlife in addition to all the fish you’ll be catching, where we saw dolphins, manatees and all types of waterfoul. From an amenities standpoint, in addition to the piers, there are boat slips if you brought watercraft, outdoor fire pits and BBQ grilles, picnic tables and the place is pet friendly. Insider’s tip? If you plan your stay well, you can time it to see one of the many launches from Cape Canaveral– and if not, no worries, the sunsets you’ll encounter will be some of the most amazing you ever experience. Another tip is if you have time, make sure to make it down to Haulover Canal where kayaks and canoes can launch from to discover some of the most amazing birds, alligators and endemic wildlife to Mosquito Lagoon.

    Happy Camping!

    Blue Spring State Park Campground

Lovely pet friendly camping and spring

This campground was awesome for a weekend away with the family and dogs. It was still very hot and buggy in Florida so be warned If this is an issue for you. Large campsites with a picnic table, electric, and water. Pet friendly and clean bathrooms with a small walking path for the pups. Been to better but a great weekend away!

Best place to see a launch!

THIS quaint little park is so delightful. With so many gorgeous water birds and trees. The park sits off the Indian River and is the perfect place to catch a launch. The are also very dog friendly and have a dog park. The dock is also the perfect place to catch some redfish or snook. Had a wonderful time in this tucked away little spot.

    Manatee Hammock Campground

    Tent folk: bring earplugs

Arrived here for a three-night tent stay at spot 153. The campground is easily accessible from the highway, and a breeze to check in. Friendly staff. Dumpsters behind the main office. All roads are one-way counterclockwise. The bathroom and laundry room are about 100 meters from spot 153. Both are clean. There's a nice pavilion overlooking the water inside the eastern loop. There's a good size, fenced-in, leash-free dog park next to the water. The water views are beautiful at sunrise. There's a pier for fishing and just serene eastern observation toward Cape Canaveral. There's a kayak launch ramp as well.

Spot 153 was perfectly partially shaded, with a mix of sand and grass, and it was level. The only critters seen here are playful squirrels. RV spots can be quite close to each other, but not many of their inhabitants were seen outside during these chilly, mid-December days when the temperature dipped to 40F at night, and high 50's in the day. All spots have electric and picnic table. The water spigot at 153 was about two inches from the ground. Why?

The only downside of the campground is its proximity to railroad tracks and airport. The noise seemed to be constant on weekdays.
