Description

Located between Orlando and Daytona, our Central Florida RV Park is surrounded by state-owned preserve land, but is still only 5 miles from Sanford, FL. The campground has a total of 817 sites, 569 of which offer full hookups, and there are plenty of over-sized RV sites to accommodate big rigs and small RVs alike. Wekiva Falls RV Resort and campground also offers tent camping at our Orlando-area campground. Some sites are equipped with picnic tables and grills, while others have fire pits, and some are located far back in the woods. Wekiva Falls is a premiere RV Resort and campground destination ideally located in beautiful Sorrento, Florida between Daytona Beach and Orlando. Before Walt Disney came to the area in the 1970’s, Orlando was a sleepy town with an economy based on citrus and cattle. Since then, Orlando has blossomed into one of our nations most sought-after destinations. That’s why the founders decided to build Wekiva Falls right up to the road, in Sorrento, Florida. The founders wanted to be close enough to all the attractions and local shops, without being disturbed by the noise, or frustrated by the stop and go traffic. Sorrento, Florida is truly one of the last peaceful reserves in Central Florida. With its near-perfect mild temperatures that last all year-round. Built on over 100 acres, you’ll find the beauty of the great outdoors stretches in every direction, as far as the eye can see. At Wekiva Falls a beautiful beach awaits, winding trails call your name, and a variety of nearby wildlife dot the picture-perfect landscape.

Florida Springs perfection!

This private campground is Florida Springs at its best! We took our RV (class A) for a weekend trip here. We paid the extra fee to get an Elite site which was totally worth it! We had perfect view of the spring Fountain and water slide. We were right by the store and bathrooms which was very convenient. The park offers a clubhouse with daily events, a tiki bar, playground etc. The staff was very helpful. It’s a pretty large campground so be mindful of picking your site. Loved it to say the least. Will definitely return!

Chill summer days in the water

Smells like eggs....some days. Other days you cant notice the smell at all. Has a beautiful lagoon area to swim around and let the kids play on the waterslide. Or be old and boring and goto the pool. There is also a beautiful creek thats usually about knee to ankle deep thats a popular spot to bring the cooler and campchairs at. If you have a smaller boat, then the ramp to the Wekiva River is convenient. Also nice for paddling. Though be aware there ARE MOST DEFINITELY ALLIGATORS. Just dont ask and be aware. Known to get rowdy on summer weekends but it's all in good fun.

Decent Campground

We had an okay time here. Sites were well kept. Many people live here full time, and they were also having a water issue when we were there.

Interesting place…a mix of full timers and weekenders. A lot of different activities, we enjoyed the tiki bar and bingo. Water features are pretty but there was a strong sulphur smell that made them less inviting.

Horrible and rude staff , poorly kept campsites UNORGANIZED

We booked a large group with tents and campers over two months ago. Asked to be together. Called numerous times and they did not accommodate. Had to rent a golf cart once we arrived from outside company just to get around and to each other’s sites. Escorted to campsite and they couldn’t find sewer hook up. Office staff extremely rude. Shower houses unkept. Nasty stalls with feces inside. When staff was told it was not cleaned. Spring over crowded and many drunken visitors. Golf carts allowed and side by sides. This mixed with drunken visitors was a bit nerve wracking. Definitely didn’t trust kids to ride around on bikes safely. Will not be returning.

Great place for families

Was fortunate to find a spot a Wekiva Falls for the weekend, last minute. Needed a place to stay to go to the Winter Park Art Fest. The people at check in were extremely friendly and had great customer service. They actually have someone guide you to your camp site and help you back in. They then review all the rules of the resort, show you how to hook up to electric/water/sewer. More than helpful. They were up front and honest about the crowds to be expected for the weekend and the noise/partying. He was right about that. Our site was across the street from the lagoon and on Saturday there was a DJ blasting music all days. I don’t think everyone in the campground should have to be subject to the music. It stopped at 5pm. Friday night the campground was noisy, but it quieted down by 10:30pm. Lots of kids, golf carts and people having fun. Not much in the way of shade trees. There are some palm trees scattered throughout. Most sites are back in. Sites are level and there is a concrete pad with a picnic table. Not all sites have fire rings. There is a dog park, cafe, food trucks on Sat. Great place for families. There was a strong sulfur smell around our site. Not sure where that was coming from

Pretty Nice

The campground had some nice locations and plenty of stuff to do. Having a little tiki bar near the river was very cool. But having a tremendous amount of FT families living there was definitely a detriment. Additionally, I set up a small two man tent next to my RV for children to play in. I was forced to take it down by the staff. To me that was petty. Glad I went but won’t be going back. Time to explore new locations!

Man I screwed up

So I will explain my title but let me lead up to it! This place is awesome! Old, young, rich or poor it is amazing, unless you need your 4 legged friend to cool off! This place has great space and great amenities for your stay. They have dirt spots where we are with concrete pads to relax on. I have steps that will not allow us to close the door to the camper if there is not enough room. See second picture. If you have young ones or teenagers this place gives them lots to do. If you are old and senile like me there is a pool and the lagoon to cool off. And walking around is the way to go if you need some extra steps in your day.

From a local...

We have camped here with a 26' trailer and also a 31' "A" class motor home. This is a large park in two sections... Half of the sites are close together and a little tight, but they have a very nice pool and club house. The premium side (for a few more dollars) has larger sites and a store. There's a few trailers that look like full timers. The springs swimming area water has a smell of sulfur, stay up wind...

Beautiful natural spring, perfect weekend getaway

The springs are one of my favorite day getaways! There are beautiful walking trails, beautiful and refreshing cool springs, kayak rentals for $20. There are also some small caves there for anyone who free dives or snorkels. Perfect for a picnic or a nice relaxing afternoon near the water.

The actual campgrounds, themselves, are a ways away from the spring. It would be a good idea to bring a bike as a walk from one to the other might be far for most in the Florida summer heat. The campgrounds are very well kept with a fair bit of space and foliage between sites for privacy. Love this place!

Red neck Riveria

The pictures, decriptions and Instagram make this place look like the ultimate fun place! There are mostly full time families that stay here. The very unorganized staff seemed to be doing their very best. It is more of a field that stayed flooded with hook ups. And let’s not forget the untreated well water you can swim in... Unfortunately, the power went out on our last of 7 days and that was all we could take. We left a night early as no power, no water and 95 degrees in Late May did us in.

Cool swim area for the kids

We went to this campground with friends one time. It's sites were grassy in the area where we stayed. The main attraction was the swimming pool / spring in the center. Concrete borders surrounded it and there was a grassy hill to sun on or chairs to relax in too. It had a center island with a slide and fountain to play in. The only bad part was the water smelled like sulfur. Kids still had a blast and we also hiked a little and found some sort of tower not far away. Great place to go on a hot day.
