We have two RV sites located 2 miles passed the summit of poncha pass. Just 15 miles outside of Salida and a 35 minute drive to monarch ski area. This beautiful property has an unobstructed view of the Sangre de Christo mountain range. It is a star gazers paradise. There is plenty of hiking on the property and it’s less than 5 minutes from national Forrest. The sites have water and electric hook ups. There is a dump station 15 minutes down the road. We can even offer winterized sites in the colder months via special request for longer stays.

    Lake-side camping

This place never fails. Always beautiful, great sunrises and sunsets. There's bathrooms and RV hook ups. Always a nice place. However it's pretty exposed so not alot of cover from wind. Always great to walk aroethe lake. Paddle boarding is a must if you own one. I'm not sure about any showers, i doubt it. Yes to designated camp fire rings. Like always pack in snd pack out.

    Convenient location

Cripple creek Rv park was very conveniently located just 2 blocks behind casinos . Great views . Most people here are long term. As a matter of fact no line else checked I or our when we were there. Make sure to call the day of arrival to confirm site number the are old school and no emails or txt . No paper or board for late night check in with direction for site . We got there late it was raining and thank you for nice level site . Overall if you are looking to do some gambling and see the site it works as a home base .

    Three Rivers Resort & Outfitting

Great location with easy access fishing

Great location with full hookups for RVs. The description mentions back-in sites only, and while our electric hookup was conveniently on the same side, we had to run our water and sewage lines underneath the RV since those hookups were on the opposite side—this seems to be the case for all sites. The campground is perfectly situated at the intersection of the Gunnison, Taylor, and East Rivers, making it ideal for fly fishing. They offer cabins, RV sites, and long-term housing options. There's a small store with basic items, beer, and merchandise, plus a fly shop in the same building. There's also a restaurant, though it was closed during our stay, and coin-operated laundry facilities. Overall, a great stay!

Cripple Creek Hospitality House & Travel Park

Best rv park in Tellar County

Have spent summer 2021 here.  A few blocks from all the casinos (they all run shuttles).

Great staff, owners on site daily.  There is a food truck (Doc's) with GREAT food, permanently on site. Laundry on site, Shower & bathrooms.
The Cripple Creek Burros (free range about town) are here often. NOTE: the burros like our hummingbird feeders!
Open year round (limited rv sites open through winter)
Hotel on property was once the Cripple Creek Hospital and is "period restored."

I've spent seven summers in Colorado in my rv, Hospitality House and RV Park has been one of the best summers we've had.

32' 5th wheel, 50 amp. Reasonable long term rate.

    Good for an overnighter

We weren't planning on staying in Fairplay, but it was getting late so we tried Middlefork RV Park. The sites are all gravel, ours was nice and level. You can get either full hookups or water/electric only. There is a dump station on site. You can pan for gold or trout fish right at the campground. I didn't check out the shower house, it's at the far end of the campground.

    Spectacular mountain views!

We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Gorge RV Resort. The new owners were in the process of updating the bathhouse which will look beautiful from what I could see! The sites were level and well-kept. The camp store was well stocked with firewood, camping supplies, a s’mores bar, cold drinks and lots of Colorado made items. The view from the hot tub was amazing! The fire pits on the patio were cozy and inviting. The location was perfect, close to the Royal Gorge bridge, rafting in the Arkansas River, hiking trails, the Royal Gorge Route Railroad and several great restaurants. The playground was very kid friendly and the giant jumping pillow was super fun! We are already planning our next visit!!

    Middlefork RV Resort

    Decent Place for An Overnight

Pretty much your average RV Park, though the bathrooms and showers were exceptional. Finding the place is a bit of a challenge though. You have to turn into a shopping Center parking lot, and go down a small dirt road on the west side of the lot. Kind of a weird setup but I guess because of the topography they had no choice. Front office dude was not really very friendly or welcoming. Some weird guy kept wandering around out in the field behind the RV spaces talking to himself.

    High Plateau Peace

Another great Colorado State Park, it sits above Eleven Mile Reservoir. The sites offer everything from tent sites to full hook up. There is limited shade, but most sites are exposed.

Theres beautiful hikes around the lake and the fishing is awesome between the reservoir and Spinny Lake, and 11 Mile Canyon below the dam.

Awesome place to stay with SXS

We got there the Sunday before Labor Day and stayed all week. People were leaving so the park was fairly quiet. Full hook ups were nice to have. The temps were getting below freezing at night. Nice change from the Texas heat. The morning we left it was 23 degrees so protect your water lines. Great place to stay and ride out of park. Camp host were very friendly and we look forward to going back next year.

    Almont Campground

Small, primative sites between 135 and the Gunnison river.

Small, primative campground just off 135 on the way to Crested Butte. (10 minutes to Gunnison and 20 from Crested Butte. Just south of town of Almont). About five tent sites on north side of the campground and some camper/trailer sites on the south side. Fire pits at each site. Picnic tables. Stayed in a tent. No problems. Can hear traffic on 135, but it quiets down at night. Pit toilet is clean with usual odors. Apparently there is some electricity available on the camper/trailer side. Bear safe trash dumpsters. This is a bear site so care needs to be taken. Self pay envelopes and drop tube at the kiosk at entrance. Pd $12, but is $6 if have one of the senior passes as it’s on national forest land. If you’re pretty self sufficient and looking for a nice bargain, this is a good site. Had a great view of the milky way over the campsite as minimal light pollution.

Fantastic primitive spot below the rocks

We loved our time at Cement Creek! We got there early afternoon on a Tuesday and had our pick of spots, ultimately choosing one down by the river. So many great sites, but if you have a camper/trailer, some are definitely going to be tough to get level in. The road is unpaved just past South Crested Butte, but it’s quite well maintained. Great spot to spend some time!

    Salida North BLM

    Nice Staging for Arkansas River

This is a BLM dispersed camping site north of Salida on the road to Hecla Junction Recreation Area. The river access is about 5 miles away down a steep dirt and gravel road. The BLM site is very basic with no facilities. The campsites are not marked but easy to identify by the campfire rocks and road patterns. You can’t beat the price if you are looking for free camping near world class river rafting. Like all dispersed camp sites you get a diverse mix of users from long term residents to temporary van and tent campers. The site is located immediately off the access road to the river and provides some tree cover for the sun and wind. It can be a rather windy and dusty spot. So you will need to have a good tent or other cover in the summer or during wind events. The site is patrolled by BLM and other park officials. They have some great hikes here and nice scenery. However, the highlight here is the proximity to the Arkansas River and river rafting. The the Hecla Campground is full this could serve as a good plan B for free. You will need your own toilet, food, and water. You will also need to pack out your trash as they do not have any trash removal. If you are used to dispersed camping, this will be straightforward.

Hecla Junction Campground — Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area

Nice campground on the AR River

Nice campground for tents and small camper trailers (under 30”). Sights off the river are on a steep grade, which will require a lot of rise in trailer jacks-bring our blocks. Most sights have space for a trailer and tent. The camp group does not have water and spotty Mobile phone service for those who care. Nice relaxing place to visit.

Rocky Ridge Camground — Eleven Mile State Park

    Nice Views

Camped here for the first time we ever took the RV out. Visited in mid/end of September. It got cold at night and we were thankful to have brought an extra space heater. Views were nice. There was little vegetation in the area which made high winds even stronger. There wasn't a fire ban at the time but a campfire was impractical due to the winds.

RV spots were about average distance from neighbors. Spots were big enough and easy enough to park a travel trailer in. Spots didn't have water hookups, which is normally one of the big reasons for going to an RV site and dealing with neighbors. Using the dump station was easy in the off-season, staff let you schedule a dump time days ahead of time.

The campground was definitely intended for use by visitors on fishing trips at the nearby lake. Multiple individuals parked boats within their RV spots.

Stoll Mountain Campground — Eleven Mile State Park

    Great for RV

Pros: -lots of level, well maintained sites -huge lake, great for fishing or boating -electrical hookups for RV camping Cons: -minimal shade and sites are close together -bathroom/shower are at the entrance (a considerable distance from most sites) -not a ton of great hiking areas. Bottom line if you’re an RV camper and an angler definitely a decent spot. If you’re a tent camper and hiker check elsewhere.

    Cement Creek Campground

Campground near Cement Creek, close to Crested Butte

Key things - 3+ miles down a dirt road (rough but nothing requiring a 4WD), no electricity, no water (except creek), no cell service with AT&T (not sure about others), 11 sites, normal size tent pads (a little small for my 9x12), out house toilets (2), great white noise from the creek if the water is flowing

Cost is $16/night.  $8/night with National Parks Pass number (make sure you have your pass so you can record the number)

This is a decent campground near Crested Butte.  If it is a dry spell, like it was for us, it is dusty and the road next to the camp is dusty.  Be sure to pick a site away from the road. Also pick a site away from the toilets. Site #9 is the best for privacy, if you are willing to carry your equipment down a short trail (we stayed in 8, 9 and 10 - all good sites).  All other sites are on the camp road.  The camp is dusty, which was exaggerated by our 2 and 3 year old grandsons enjoying running around creating dust clouds.  It was a nice weekend so the dirt bikers and atvs were busy on the road next to the camp, but didn't start before sun up and were gone before sun down (most went out in the morning and back in the afternoon - so not constant traffic).

Overall, we had a great time and the kids were able to run around without worrying about cars in the camp.  All of the campers there with us were quiet and went to bed by 9pm.  Many just came in, set up camp for the night and left the next morning - no long term campers.

We stayed the weekend of 13 Sept 2019 - days temps were in the 70s, nights went down to the upper 20s and lower 30s - take the right gear.  We ended up using a tent heater the first night (but I'm old and get cold).

    Riverside RV Park

Convenient Campsite by the Arkansas River

Riverside RV Park is on the outskirts of Salida, Colorado just off of US-50. The Arkansas River flows through the campground at a sedate flow. Our campsite (#8) was right next to and parallel to the river which provided some soothing sounds at night. It took a couple of tries to back our 20 foot travel trailer into the spot. The gravel site was level side to side but sloped slightly back to front. The bathrooms and showers are clean but a bit worn, and they are across the river bridge from the campsites and up some fairly steep steps. My wife is handicapped, so we had to drive around to the bathhouse.

The campground is next door to a Sonic Drive-In and across the highway from a Wal-mart. It is within a half hour drive to rafting, horseback riding, hot springs, trailheads to the outback and high mountains.

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

I think this may be the same campground as Salida North??? Our stay was 6/16/24. small sites with firepit and table available no water or toilet. A handful of sites could accommodate our 23' camper trailer. Quiet place. Though by morning most sites were taken. Many "car" campers pulled in for overtime stay... Google took us too far up canyon . Turn off hwy 285 go over bridge and take dirt road to right.

Mt. Princeton RV Park & Cabins

Very friendly staff & clean park

We stayed here 5 nights Sun-Fri while doing work/school and enjoyed exploring Buena Vista in the evenings! Overall the park was enjoyable, it had everything you needed to be comfortable, but not much else. We were in their standard sites, which are pretty close to your neighbor... typical of RV park. They did have premium sites which were more spacious. Gravel and dirt everywhere. The sites were mostly level, though there was clearly a grade from the first site to the last, and there was a bit of grade front to back on our site.

Staff was very friendly and kept the place very clean. Bathrooms were well kept. The showers were pay showers but we never used them. Laundry facilities were VERY nice and our clothes came out clean and smelling good.

Very cool places to explore just around the corner from here... Arkansas river has some neat spots... Midland Tunnels were a neat area right behind the park, but about a 10 minute drive since it was on the other side of the river. Also great trails near downtown.
