Salida RV Resort

With sites ranging from $73-$144 per night, Salida RV Resort provides water hookups and big rig access along the Arkansas River. The campground requires reservations and sits close enough to downtown Salida for easy bike rides to trails and town amenities.

The grounds feature level gravel sites with space between RVs, though privacy remains limited as trees mature. Over 20 back-in sites face directly onto the river, where campers can hear water rushing by and access the Arkansas for kayaking or small watercraft. Pamela R. notes the "grounds were immaculate, sites perfectly level and raked after each guest." Mountain views extend from all sites, though highway noise carries from the nearby road.

The clubhouse includes showers, fitness equipment, and a pool table, while outdoor amenities feature pickleball courts and a small dog park. WiFi proves spotty according to multiple reviews, but strong cell service supports hotspot use. Campers report easy access to Methodist Trail system for mountain biking and hiking trails throughout the area. For additional camping choices, visitors can explore campsites near Salida.

Book premium riverfront spots well ahead during peak season, as mosquitoes near the water increase when winds die down.

Open feeling and new

Newer RV park that feels open and has nice view of the mountains around Salida. One clubhouse with bathrooms and showers. Two stalls in the women’s room and two showers. The park is filled with tiny homes for semi-permanent residents. Close to Salida. We plan to ride our e-bikes but have to go along Highway 50 for a bit. Wish there was a bike lane.

A Personal Favorite

I am a return visitor to the Salida RV Resort.   I have stayed at two other campgrounds in the area, but Salida RV Resort has become my go-to.    The resort is modern with all new and clean amenities, the staff is responsive to emails and very friendly in person, and the location is convenient to Salida and the activities of the area.    The sites are level and fully functional.    They have a nice walking path along the river with an available pickle ball court for those who might play.   As for me, I am a fly fisherman and enjoy fishing the Arkansas River.    I enjoy camping next to the river, and have even caught quite a few brown trout in my "backyard" behind the camper.

Great location close to town

Stayed a couple of nights while visiting friends and leaf peeping. It's not our typical style preference, but worked well for our needs that weekend. It's clean and new and has a nice playground for kids. Easy after-hours check-in. It's peaceful by river, but like most RV parks, not much privacy with neighbors. It will be nicer when the existing trees mature. All in all, we'd stay here again for a visit, just not if you plan to hang out at your site much. It’s pricey for the premium sites, but they're definitely more appealing vs the middle "parking lot" area.

Great campground

Staid here 2 nights for some MTBing. Perfect spot for access to Methodist Trail system, down town and easy bike ride away.

Grounds were immaculate, sites perfectly level and raked after each guest. Camp hosts were super friendly.

My only complaint is the price...Nearly half empty the nights I was there yet still charging a premium. I would come back more often if they had last minute deals for empty spots.

I stayed on one of the river front spots, nice hearing the river rush by...I do believe mosquitoes would be an issue if it's not too windy, but that should be expected near water.

Very nice new RV park. Right on the Arkansas River, great mountain views.

Very clean, large level spots with gravel and plenty of room in between RVs.  Great location, close to Salida and hiking & biking trails.  Directly on the Arkansas River -- river view spots are very nice and all spots have a view of the mountains, there's a bit of road noise from nearby highway.  Friendly staff, nice clubhouse with showers, pool table & fitness center, there's a small dog park and pickleball courts.  Direct access to Arkansas River for kayaks and small boats (walk down to river, can't drive there).  Campground internet was spotty but cell service is great so internet is very good if you have a hot spot.  Highly recommended, my only complaint is there's no pool or hot tub.
