Nice balance

We have neighbors 100 yards away and others further, so you won’t have the whole wilderness to yourself, but that might be comforting!

Well maintained with an ice fire pit. Be careful of cactus, bring firewood, download the off-line maps. The trails can get confusing so remember your way in!

Nice quiet area

Plenty of spots to stop. Entry road has multiple water runoff ditches that make the road best for vehicles with decent clearance. If dry 4x4 not necessary.

We hiked some of the surrounding areas and found bear scat close to our pull off.

Intermittent cell service for AT&T and Verizon. Periods with no connection.

Trails are available but can be confusing, so it's advisable to download offline maps and mark your route carefully. Wildlife is present in the area—bear scat has been observed near some camping pull-offs. The trail system isn't extensively marked, so hikers should take precautions to remember their way back to camp. For safety, bring appropriate hiking gear and be aware of the natural environment, including cactus in some sections.

Where is Cloverdale Mine located in Colorado?

Cloverdale Mine is located in a scenic area of Colorado, accessible via a dirt road with multiple water runoff ditches. The surrounding landscape features hiking trails and natural terrain, though specific geographic coordinates or nearby towns aren't precisely established. The area has intermittent cell service for AT&T and Verizon carriers.

Is Cloverdale Mine accessible year-round for camping?

Cloverdale Mine's year-round accessibility is likely limited by seasonal conditions. The entry road has water runoff ditches that may become more challenging during wet periods or winter months. While 4x4 is not necessary in dry conditions, the road requires vehicles with decent clearance. Given the terrain and remote nature of the area, access is probably best during spring, summer, and fall months when road conditions are more favorable. Visitors planning winter camping should check current road conditions and weather forecasts before attempting access.
