Hookups are not provided at the individual campsites, but there is a sanitation dump station. Flush toilets and piped drinking water are available. There are two launch ramps and a day-use area near the park. Please be aware that both the boat launch ramps become unusable when the lake drops below 431 feet in elevation. This typically happens in late June to early July, but can vary annually. To check the current lake elevation you may visit the Department of Water Resources website. You can also camp ashore with your boat at Peninsula campground in a designated campsite. A secure tie-up is essential as the wind often rises during the night.

I thought this campground was pretty decent for being NPS run and due to its large size. The campsite was close to other campers, but not right on top of them. The location is ideal. Bathrooms were the least favorite part, only one bathroom (with 4 stalls?) for one large loop of campsites. Check-in was a breeze. Nearby visitor center and camp store was convenient. There were hiking trails nearby. Be bear aware!
Large pull off area I found and stayed at for 4 days with amazing views of the sunset and sunrise! I was there on weekdays so was pretty much alone the whole time but even if the main spot is occupied there’s a couple of dirt roads that lead to more areas to camp. A couple of level spots and lots of room to hike around. Completely free and peaceful but 0 amenities so come prepared. Currently there is an abandoned red semi truck cab so it’s easy to find not sure if that will ever be moved in the future though!

It’s $30 a night for dry camping and goes up from there depending on what hookups you need. Very peaceful and the fairgrounds are open during the day to walk around.
Very clean campground with a helpful host. Bathrooms/showers for paid guest have a code to get in. The day use area has porta potties. This place is dark at night so really good for star watching.
49er was great! We stayed here for the last weekend of the summer before the kids went back to school. We were advised on our arrival that the site I picked was in full sun, and we were moved to“Shady Lane”, site 18. We checked out the pond, playground, volleyball and shuffleboard areas, but spent most of the time in the pool, it was a hot weekend. The flies were pretty bad, but apparently this is not normal and it was just after the county fair ended(fairgrounds is right next door). Full hookups, nice little store with ice cream and coffee, we will have to come back when the weather(and flies) is a little better. I added a handful of 360 photos to show the place off, and I’m working on a street view of the campground. Will be back!

We have been going to camanche Lake for years . Low cell service but very nice place to tent camp. Last year, they gave us our spot we set up, then was told they made a mistake and made us move spots, but the new spot was closer to the water and that made the kids happy. Kinda a hassle, but it worked out. We love it at this lake.
Place wasn’t too bad. Very nice people, very peaceful, and quiet, however, there were many people here who are permanent residents of the park, some of their areas are a little trashy looking for lack of a better word. Definitely not a bad spot if you’re on the way to another campground, but there are probably better ones to head to, especially if you have children with you. We were also looking for a place to camp with two days notice and this was all we could find. Cheap too!
It is the only RV parking in Sacramento that will allow you to stay for one night. Great campground! Hospitality and professionalism- that how you can describe this place! Lots of things to do for kids: great playgrounds, swimming pool, more than 100 ducks going around! Beautiful place! Thank you!
Tons of beautiful, shady spots overlooking or near the Sacramento river. Very Breezy and well maintained park with good prices for electrical and water hookup and a dump station. Clean bathrooms and showers at no cost and the laundry room with free detergent . Decent prices in the store and overlooks the Marina and the river at includes free fishing and swimming and is a beautiful spot! was only going to stay one night and ended up staying two.
*pros: great little market, very nice staff, clean, great views *cons: rocky watch your step, especially at the beach and a long the shore. Recommend water shoes, although this may only help a little as the rocks are quite large and when can trip over them as much as step on them. they are not round river rocks, but pointy and painful to traverse. *my stay: I was only here for two nights and on the second morning some people pulled in and pitched a tent at 4:30 in the morning. They weren’t particularly loud, but they did curse and had their flashlight bright enough that it shone into my site and RV. Overall, it was still a very pleasant stay for the two nights.
There was absolutely no space between the trailers, to the point I hit my head on my neighbors slide out while setting up. There was no mention of the WIFI being out, but you got to only find that and your space number out when you got there. 70 bucks a night what a RIP! The second star was at least they had shade, but too tight to even put out the awning. NEVER again,
Pretty easy to get to and lots of spaces for dispersed sites. There was trash EVERYWHERE. Broken glass, toilet trash, bottles and cans, we were really disappointed. We found a spot pretty hidden which was rad but someone was shooting litteraly all night long which was frustrating. We probably won’t come back.
We had a great experience at the Placerville KOA. In this place, I can join many activities such as playing geometry dash lite .The staff was very welcoming and the grounds are organized and clean. The only thing I would suggest is to put in a few more bathrooms around the site. The main building are the only bathrooms. I would suggest a visit. They also have a pool area and hot tub Our friends stayed in the cabins. They were clean and comfortable
Amador is a laid back camping spot that never disappoints. Great for families. Not a party destination but you can still have a great time! They have a water hole with a fun slide, which is all kept nice and clean with tables you can sit at. I would recommend a pop up tent for shade if you go to the water hole. There is also a old school playground for the kids. The staff is super friendly and always there to help. I take my kids at least 3-4 times a year and enjoy any of the seasons. There is Frisbee golf as well.
First off, the name is actually WOLF CREEK GROUP CAMPGROUND, and that should be your first clue that this is one of those big campgrounds with a lot of sites all packed in together. (Technically, there are several Wolf Creek Group Campgrounds along the road--this review is for the first one you come to after Yellowjacket.) Anyway, this is my own personal bias but I’m really over big campgrounds with lots of people and their music, screaming kids, and campfire smoke. Although the site is absolutely beautiful—right on the reservoir—the campground is big and noisy. The reservoir is warm and fun to swim in but the rocks are sharp in places (bring water shoes). Boat traffic is pretty steady on the weekend, less so during the week. Another camper told me the weekdays are the best time to come: the campground and lake are much quieter. We did FCFS but ended up with an excellent campsite. Now, the particulars: They seem to be having a problem with marauding bears lately. One cub literally walked right up to us while we were playing cards and stood there, watching. Our German shepherd, truck alarm, and a little yelling was enough to scare it off, but that was not good behavior for a bear who wants to live a long life. Ditto for the other adult bears who scoured the campground all night long, looking (and sadly, finding) things to eat. There wasn't much sleeping going on and you could hear dogs barking and people yelling pretty much through the night. USE THE BEAR BOXES AND DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING OUT (including fish you catch in ice chests). These bears will pay with their lives if they keep scavenging like this. Finally, bathrooms were clean on Friday but by Saturday (again, a lot of people) they were disgusting. I felt sorry for the camp hosts, trying to keep them clean. Water and dumpsters are available.
It's one of our favorite places to camp. Amazing Giant Sequoia Trees. Small creek/river runs through the campground where you can fish. The place is clean and has flush toilets. Within a short drive, you can partake on some amazing hikes. You have to see, in person, the General Sherman Tree. It's just a beautiful place to camp.

Even without the countless amenities, this KOA has incredible staff & service. The front desk was super welcoming. They gave us treats and toys for each of our pups. Every time we’ve been into the store the customer service was superb and security drives around at all time to check the place out. 🤩
The amenities were great but some surprise bonus’ were the big game room, TWO doggy pens. A doggy bath and the most clean campgrounds I’ve ever seen. This place is VERY well cared for. We drove 40mins daily in & out of here to visit family and I’d absolutely stay here again.
Parking spot was good and level. Hosts were very nice and helpful. Bathrooms were horribly maintained. We ended up going to Truck Stop for a shower.
The grounds are very well kept and the staff is available but keep their distance. Thanks to Lisa for the mattress pump and a shout out to groundskeeper Genoa who recently retired and shared great knowledge about the area. Try not to forget anything because it is eleven twisty, narrow, miles back to the city of Cool, where you can buy the essentials- The weekends get crowded during peak season but if you visit mid-week you will have the place almost to yourself. Reserve a site online but when you get there tell the attendant that you would like to see what sites are available. Take a tour as the online pics do no justice, and with almost 100 sites, you will find the perfect site that will suit your specifics- Best, Tommy
People were friendly .area was very nice and clean.
Indian grinding rock is the place to go if you just want to be in nature. So peaceful to hear all the birds in the morning , the frogs at night. Plenty of wildlife to see in the day use area as well. We saw some deer and turkeys. There’s a fishing lake not too far from here either.

We enjoyed our first visit and will definitely come back! The park is a mix of old RV’s that folks have long term stays and open spots for visitors. Some nice spots and some tight spots. We stayed in site 62 with 41 foot MH. There was no room for a tow vehicle and we did not put our awnings out. We enjoyed fishing from the bank and had some good luck with power bait. The resort is very clean and quiet!
We spent the weekend for my wife’s birthday. It rained most of Friday and into Saturday but we had a great time. Steve at check in was very helpful, the little store is cool, and the campground is walking distance from the historic town of Coloma and the Argonaut for breakfast and lunch (and Gelato!) Pool, playground, basketball and soccer - will definitely be back with the kids soon.
