Sherwood Harbor Marina & RV Park

SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Reservations are available at Sherwood Harbor Marina & RV Park, a drive-in and boat-in facility along the Sacramento River in West Sacramento that provides full hookups (electric, water, and sewer) for RVs up to 40 feet. Tent sites exist but are limited to just two or three spots, and the park enforces rules around how guests use those sites, so tent campers should clarify expectations before booking. Prices have drawn some comment: one tent camper noted paying $55 per night for a site with a faucet and 110V outlets included.

Water access and river views are the defining features here. Sites in the upper area tend to have the best sightlines over the Sacramento River and the small marina, though those spots are frequently occupied by longer-term renters. RV sites are compact and can feel crowded when the park fills up. Showers and restrooms are free to use, though a $15 refundable cash deposit is required for the key. The laundry room includes free detergent. Steve M. describes the facilities as "clean bathrooms and showers at no cost and the laundry room with free detergent."

Pets are listed as allowed, but at least one reviewer reported being turned away with a service dog, and another was redirected when mentioning an infant, so campers with specific circumstances should call ahead to confirm. Nearby alternatives include Capitol West RV Park to the north and Sac West RV Park & Campground to the northwest. Summer weekends fill quickly, so booking in advance is advisable.

Outstanding location, Right on the river with a swimming beach and free fishing with no license required

Tons of beautiful, shady spots overlooking or near the Sacramento river. Very Breezy and well maintained park with good prices for electrical and water hookup and a dump station. Clean bathrooms and showers at no cost and the laundry room with free detergent . Decent prices in the store and overlooks the Marina and the river at includes free fishing and swimming and is a beautiful spot! was only going to stay one night and ended up staying two.

2/5

We did try to stay there, they were okay with us having one dog and two boys ages 9 and 8 , but as soon as we told them we had a baby they referred us somewhere else.it was very disappointing.

Tent site experience

I stayed one night in one of the 2-3 tent sites, which was on the water. -It was quite expensive ($55/night) for a tent site. I didn’t request, want, or use them, but I did have a faucet and two 110-V outlets available; perhaps I was paying for that. -Office staff told me I had to sleep in a tent, not my car (I’m testing out a cot in my car; can’t do a tent any more). My thinking is, if I pay and take good care of the tent site, why insist on controlling how I sleep? I found this intrusive - and I set up a tent, but slept in my car. -The sites for RVs were very small. The campground was pretty much full and I felt bad for the RVers, who were almost on top of each other. -Additional notes: good, free showers (but $15 returnable cash deposit to get a restroom/shower key); tent site was on water and had privacy of bush on one side (unlike RVs); friendly office staff; not near town or residential areas, despite being so near an urban area.

Riverside Camping for RV’s

Hesitant to share this largely undiscovered gem of a spot for fear it will get popular and hard to get into. Beautiful spaces to park your RV with a view of the river and small local marina. Everything you need to “get away” is here and big city amenities a short drive away.

Tucked Away on the Delta. Still a work on progress.

The upper area which have the best views mostly longer term rentals. Mgmt a little difficul to work with at first, but came around and made our stay enjoyable.  Note: If you have an older unit they are particular and want pics upfront..  Restrooms/showers very private and large but in serious need of upgrades.  Having Canandian snow geese in our site upon waking up was a real treat.  Overall nice place.
