Close to the Bay Area and probably one of the better options. It can get crowded over the weekends.
Looks like they recently increased the price for campsites, which makes it easier to find/reserve a site. Not sure that this was a good thing, but it is what it is.
Called at the last minute and got a campsite. Came in late and the staff left an envelope with all the important info so no problem finding my pull through site
We arrived at around 7pm. The park is very well maintained. Super clean. Nice bathrooms.
We expected a bigger and cleaner area for kids to play in. Unfortunately, the pool area was not to expectations and had a foul smell. My son complained about green mold on the slide. The staff although are friendly and helpful.
After time spent here at this oasis in the middle of Eastbay, California, you’ll very much feel like part of this place with its endless trails, fantasticly well-kept camping grounds and the warm hospitality given you both by the camp rangers and fellow campers you’ll come across. From a range of…

Let's just call a spade a spade here, alright? This campground isn't going to be one that you look back and fondly recollect a surreal experience in the middle of nature with all of the rustic touches one might come to expect when camping in NorCal. And while the Redwoods and Sequoias will steal…

What a find! This hidden gem hides behind the vineyard crested mountain range just due south of Livermore. Once you get off the 680/580 highways, you'll be immediately swept into a different wind-strewn, rocky landscape that you'll have to wind around several bends on some decent inclined…

Got here on a Sunday night, and even though online they were full, they only had a dozen campers. At least 70 spots here, nice tent areas. Dispersed and lots of views. Bathrooms were ok, showers hot, but they were spread out. No generators allowed. Actually allowed pit fires, which surprised us…
This site is a nice hidden gem that many won't know even has a campground. While tiny and available only for a small number of campers, if you can get a spot booked well in advance, you'll have the place nearly all to yourself. Located just off of 680, you'll take Bollinger Canyon Road where you'll…

Throughout the Eastbay, you won't find a more instantly recognizable location from such incredible distances as Mount Diablo. While the shoulders of this giant mountain are broad and sloping, don't be fooled, the plethora of hiking trails can be quite difficult and steep in some places. Mount…

Had a great time here. We had a spot a 20ft from the lake. It was a meteor shower night and it was amazing. I would recommend this place during the cooler months.
I've been coming here since in jr. High.good hiking exploring is fun fishing too
We stayed here on our first foray into van camping. We were so surprised how clean the restrooms were. So far its been the best we’ve seen. My dog loved the off leash dog park. I waited until there was no one around because she’s a little skittish. Would recommend!
Out in Central valley is Woodward Lake. Great for a day trip if you live in the Bay area and want to get away. They have boat access to the lake. My favorite thing about this lake campsite is almost every campsite is connected to the lake so if you have boat or jetski bring it up to the site after…
Right off the freeway - easy access to the city. We didn’t book ahead much and ended up with a site that just had rocks and a picnic table. No grass except at tent sites. Not wide enough to fully put out slider. The bathroom were great in the tent area. Nice pool and dog area.
