Close to downtown, a lot of homelessness around the campground

I camped here prior to Covid and there was already a lot of peeps camping up and down the streets outside the campground and I know that it has increased in numbers since. Inside the campground it was fine and didn't get hassled at all. Used this spot to attend an event at the Marconi Center and commuted on my bike without issue. Don't know that I would vacation here necessarily but the campground overall had nice showers and worked for what I needed overall a nice place just in a tough neighborhood.

Good way to stay in San Francisco

It's expensive (122,5$ incl. tax), but gives you the opportunity to be in the city. Lyft/Uber 25 minutes to Fishers Wharf ~25-30$. Or Muni which takes about double the time including walk to the station. Great WiFi. It's a parking lot with close neighbors. Nice and clean facilities.

DONT DO YOUR LAUNDRY THERE

Candlestick RV Park is expensive, extremely narrow - obviously people don't go there for the view or the nice camping experience but because it's closest to SF - so go there if you want to explore the beautiful city: Metro is 15 Min. walk an takes you downtown. But please don't do your laundry there or you end up like us and dry all your clothes in your RV as none of the dryers are working (no one told us)

A homeless shelter

The streets are lined with homeless living in RVs etc leading up to the RV park and after, it smells like sewage. When arriving I was moved to 3 different sites, all of which I couldn’t fit into. The guy running the park blamed me for not telling him I have a tow vehicle... he did however know the length of my trailer and every spot he put me in wasn’t long enough for the trailer alone. I may have been able to back into the spaces but would’ve been hanging out a bit which I could’ve tried to deal with if it weren’t for the fact that I could not maneuver to back into any space because everyone that’s there has been there very long term and is living there. They all have garbage and debris overflowing their sites preventing me from backing in properly. The place is incredibly run down and dirty, it didn’t feel safe. I requested my money back which he did and then I left. I can’t believe that even being in the city, though the bad side of the city at that he’s charging $125 a night! I’ve been all over the country and I have to say that $25-$30 a night would be an extreme stretch realistically. Stay far away from here, it’s not safe, it’s not clean.
