Simple and Basic

A 5 mile hike from the Bear Valley Trailhead leading to a small campground with 12 sites.  We stayed at #9.  Potable water and vault toilets are available, with each site also having a picnic table, charcoal barbecues and bear boxes.  Wood fires are not permitted.  A stream runs beside the…

Great overnight spot

Drove past the gps directions, a lot of pull offs along the road. Some safer than others. Didn’t have any issues staying for the night.

DONT DO YOUR LAUNDRY THERE

Candlestick RV Park is expensive, extremely narrow - obviously people don't go there for the view or the nice camping experience but because it's closest to SF - so go there if you want to explore the beautiful city: Metro is 15 Min. walk an takes you downtown. But please don't do your laundry…

Illegal to sleep overnight

It's illegal to sleep overnight on HWY 1 and you're at a higher risk of getting a ticket.

Camping during Covid

The tent camping is good. It’s spread out now because of social distancing. There are only 3 other campers besides me. Dogs are allowed but not on the trails so that’s a real bummer because this is a great place for hiking and horseback riding. Campsite is nothing special but the restroom gets 4…

A homeless shelter

The streets are lined with homeless living in RVs etc leading up to the RV park and after, it smells like sewage. When arriving I was moved to 3 different sites, all of which I couldn’t fit into. The guy running the park blamed me for not telling him I have a tow vehicle... he did however know the…

Perfect, right in the middle of vineyards.

This place is magical. We rode our bikes around the vineyards and enjoyed every single moment. Would come back next time for sure.

Close to Napa

This park is close to downtown Napa and the wineries but feels like it’s out further. It has nice hiking with beautiful views of the vineyards and the city of Napa. The park itself, however, could use a little TLC. The restrooms and showers are clean and well-maintained but there are only four…

Quick nature getaway

Nice, clean place with beautiful hiking trails. The garden is very cute, perfect for a quiet walk or meditation. Sites are close to each other. This place is a good getaway into nature.

Basic camping but nice staff

The campground is zero frills - you pull into a gravel lot and you’re about 12 feet from your neighbors. The plus is friendly staff, amazing views, easy hookups, FREE showers and absolutely beautiful hikes that start right outside your door. We visited Skyline right after New Years, so the state…

Fantastic Escape

We had been wanting to check out skyline wilderness Park for quite some time. Thanks to recently purchasing a much more updated tent trailer (our previous one was 27 years old and VERY limited), we decided it was high time to take our “fancy” trailer to the fancy town of Napa.

We weren’t sure…
