San Francisco RV Resort

San Francisco RV Resort, near Pacifica, California, is a unique location that offers a convenient base for exploring the vibrant city of San Francisco while enjoying ocean views. The campground features RV sites that are close together, providing a sense of community, though some visitors have noted that the proximity can feel a bit cramped.

Amenities include electric hookups and drinking water, making it easier for campers to settle in. The heated pool is a nice touch, although it has been under renovation, and the beach access offers a scenic spot for a stroll, despite some challenges getting down to it. As one camper mentioned, “The view of the ocean and the sunsets are fantastic,” which is a highlight for many.

For those looking to venture out, the campground is just a short distance from local shops and eateries, and public transport options are available for a quick trip into the city. While the campground has its quirks, like tight spaces and basic facilities, it serves as a practical choice for those wanting to experience both the coastal beauty and the urban excitement of the Bay Area.

Great Spot!!!!

I’m very confused by the boojie negative reviews, what do you expect?

This is an absolutely great spot! Restrooms and showers are clean and the staff is great. Will be back often.

Not a far drive to the city either. Price is higher than other places but this close to the city with all of the amenities a pretty good deal.

Wanted to love it

I think this park has potential but it seems like they are just trying to capitalize on quantity over quality.

The other reviews are accurate about it just being a glorified parking lot. Most rigs have an excellent view of their next door neighbors slide out.

When we arrived our neighbors truck was parked in our spot so we had to knock and ask him if he could move it. Then if we would both open our front doors at the same time, there would be a bit of an awkward “oops, sorry! You go first” situation.

A few of the site have their own lawns but I’m sure you’ll pay an arm and a leg for one of those.

Being so close to the ocean and the cool walkway that goes into Pacifica is very cool and probably the only thing saving this review from a 1.5 stars.

One night we hear other campers lighting off fireworks and it wasn’t even a holiday. This happened between 11pm and midnight.

On several occurrences, I spotted tweakers just pass right through the campground to get to the walk way since there isn’t any form of gate or anything.

Probably wouldn’t stay here a second time.

Do not stay here

Horribly run RV park. Nobody is ever around to check people in or answer questions or complaints. It’s wildly overpriced too and their ‘ocean views’ come at the expense of space and privacy. They’ve packed everyone in like sardines with no regard to the traveller. We had someone park next to us who put their slide out and blocked our door to get into our RV! That’s how packed it is here and nobody was around to help us so it was a super awkward interaction with our neighbor.

Good rest stop

Parkings are close together, beautiful view on one side, wifi is to be paid, laundry not possible to pay by app, zo coins are needed. without a car, quite far from San Fran by public transport. Uber was quick though! Overall loved the stay.

It is what it is.

I think this RV Park ( no tent camping) is exactly what one would expect in a city environment. It is essentially a parking lot on the edge of a cliff overlooking the sea.  The cliff edge here has fallen into the sea so the site must of lost 50 spaces when it happened.  If the purpose of your visit is to explore San Francisco this is a great spot from which to base yourself and not really a destination in of itself. The pool here is nice and heated but the hot tub was under renovation at the time of writing. There is a short walk to the stores. The spaces may be tight but its not the kind of place to want or need your awning out.

Small spaces, sketchy area, way overpriced

These spaces were so cramped. Couldn’t put our awning out. The water hookup wasn’t threading properly and leaked, and so did the one beside us.

Very small. The neighbours slide was a foot from our door. This place was $136/night for oceanview. The bathrooms aren’t clean. Rusty doors. Went to check out the pool and hot tub area that looks so nice in their photos and hot tub is covered and not in service. And the pool is a 2/5. Also, they charge for internet! It’s a little deceiving, the package tells you which wifi to choose, you choose it and then prices pop up for plans you can buy. (For $136/night, I’d expect internet to be included)

Looks like many are residents here. The neighbouring lot is very deserted looking, and it just didn’t feel safe. Dark, not well lit.

Nice trail to walk along the water and cliff, nice restoration project going.

If you could find a parking lot to stay in overnight for free, I’d choose that over this place.

Sunset was nice, crashing waves to sleep to were nice, but for the price.. (more than a top 5 luxury Motorcoach resort we stayed at in Vegas), I assumed everything would be a 5* rating.

Way better than the bad reviews say!

If you want a great little place with quick easy access to San Francisco that has a great view of the ocean this place is great! And affordable! It's a little extra on a Thousand Trails membership... but the area is just so crazy expensive I can understand the need. The staff was welcoming on the way in. Spots are pre-reserved for you so you don't have to worry about the first-come-first-serve mess. That's always a relief. It doesn't look like all of the pull-through spots are still pull-through really even though the campground map indicates they are. The ones on the north side may be but looked like they are for really long rigs. I think that's mostly because of the recent configuration changes to the spots. The west side of the park DID fall into the ocean. This doesn't affect you or anything. There's a fence along that side now so you don't get close to the cliffs.

The spots are all on asphalt so that keeps everything a bit cleaner. Some spots like ours did have the hookups on the wrong side due to it having been a pull-through at one time. We had to bring our cord and sewer line under the RV but didn't need any extensions. We were right beside the bathrooms which were clean and well kept. The spots are a bit tight... but... just realized where you are. It's not like there's a whole lot of land to go around in this city.

The view of the ocean and the sunsets are fantastic. I honestly didn't understand any of the bad reviews because we actually had no bad experiences whatsoever. No campground is truly a 5-star as they never have everything but this one is definitely a solid 4.

Even though it's in Pacifica, it's still super easy to get into San Francisco if that's your goal. We just parked our truck at Daly Station's parking garage. It's very safe and patrolled ( still don't leave anything visible in your car though just to be safe). The train takes you right into the heart of San Francisco and the transportation system there gets you everywhere else easily. We just got a Clipper card for our stay. If you just want to relax here there's still a beautiful walking path just south of the park. There is an auto junkyard next door to the south. Just get on the sidewalk and walk past there a little ways and then cut over on Paloma Avenue (I believe it was) to get to the path that goes along the ocean for a couple miles. Great views! Even walked down at night with our dog and never a once felt unsafe.

Closest RV camp to the city.

Costs a lot but great for a basecamp to explore SF. People were nice amenities are basic, it's a parkinglot. Pool and hot tub space is cramped and tiny but clean. Bathrooms are not the best. Its old and not kept up to date.

Again the location is the best, a quick walk to coffee, food and groceries. Kind of magical really.

But seriously this place is literally falling into the sea. Visit soon!

Beautiful view. Expensive. Very tight sites. Nice staff. Parking can be a challenge depending on site.
Definitely request an ocean front site.

Disappointing and overpriced

Convenient location. Just outside of San Francisco above the beach. Premium sites all washed out. Nothing more than an asphalt parking lot. We paid over $100 to be up against the road as far from the beach as possible. So disappointing.

Too close for comfort

Our group stayed here in early August of 2017. This RV resort gets packed!! RV’s were super close together so it’s a roll of the dice on what kind of neighbors you’re gonna get!!There are a few picnic tables around, but nothing in terms of entertainment for kids. Thank goodness we brought the kids’ bikes!! If you are willing to sacrifice the close proximity to neighbors, there are some killer views of the Pacific Ocean. We even saw whales!! The sunset was pretty killer, too.
