Marin RV Park operates as a gravel parking lot with full hookups designed specifically for RVers visiting San Francisco. This private facility in Greenbrae positions guests within a 10-minute walk of the ferry terminal, allowing direct access to downtown San Francisco without navigating city traffic with an RV. The 50-site park sits near Highway 101, creating a functional base camp rather than a destination campground.
Sites consist of level gravel pads arranged in tight rows with minimal spacing between rigs. "Like mentioned in the other reviews, the spots are narrow," notes Luc M., particularly challenging for RVs with slide-outs or those requiring awning space. Water hookups don't follow standard placement, so extra hose length proves necessary. The park accommodates RVs up to 50 feet with electric, water, and sewer connections, plus WiFi and over 100 cable channels.
The facility includes clean restrooms, showers, and a small pool, though no picnic tables or fire pits. A laundromat operates on-site with vending machines for basic supplies. Trader Joe's and a gas station sit within a few blocks for provisioning. The location provides easy access to Golden Gate Bridge drives and Muir Woods, with ferry service eliminating the need to drive in San Francisco.
Highway noise carries throughout the park, though several reviewers note the area stays relatively quiet despite the industrial surroundings. Security measures include gated access. The park allows pets and offers reservation booking, though rates run $99-115 per night reflecting the Bay Area market. "As others have said, close neighbors and gravel, but it's level and clean," observes Al M..
This facility works best for RVers prioritizing San Francisco access over traditional camping amenities, particularly those planning multiple days in the city via public transportation.
