Great camping

Been camping here a number of times, never disappointed in the quality of campsites

Beautiful sites and new bathrooms

This campground is taken care of. It's clean, has nice bathrooms and coin-operated showers, the ranger drives by several times a day, and the fireplace is nice. My friend bought some firewood, but it wasn't very good to burn. We ended up going into Pescadero and buying some there. The place is very hilly and I was a little afraid of driving, but I did ok. We had a great campsite with a nice view of the trees, but large acorns kept falling and making loud banging noises. An aggressive bluejay hung around the campsite for a bit but was easily shooed away. I think checkout is at 11am, but the ranger kindly gave me until noon to pick up when I explained this was my first time out and I didn't plan how long it takes to break down very well.

Great for family camping

We camp with a minivan and two small children. The trees are thick and tall. The site and bathroom are clean. There are many short and easy trails.

There is a slight road noise before dark and in the morning but otherwise it is very quiet.

Camp in a sequoia grove

This place is amazing. Camping under giant sequoias is special.

The site was very good with flat space, table and fire pit. Multiple options for tent location. Excellent restrooms, super clean.

Redwoods escape 1hr from SF!

What a fantastic spot, with luxuries like flushing toilets and coin-operated showers.

In summer months, there is a super cute camp shop, as well as activities for all the family.

Given all that and its proximity to SF, I’ll be aiming to get reservations here every summer, and some winter seasons too.

Would love to come here again!

Beautiful giant red woods, clean camp sites, and plenty of amenities has impressed us. Flushing toilets and showers everywhere, water spigots were never too distant, and trails always felt safe and clean.

Amazing campsite!

Been coming here for years. Just 40ish minutes up from the town of Woodside. Camp sites are spacious and well kept! Bathrooms are easily accessible but showers are a bit of a walk maybe 5 mins from your site. The only reason it gets 4 starts is because the quality of the showers and bathrooms could be much better. Starting October 20, 2019, memorial park will CLOSE UNTIL SPRING 2021. They are updating the bathrooms and showers and roads. Roads were not bad in my opinion and the roughness added to its charm :) It’s a beautiful park under the redwoods and Kim the lady who runs the camp store is amazing. She has everything you could possibly need and if she doesn’t, pescadero is a 15 min drive towards the coast. There used to be a general store just up the road from memorial, but it’s been going through renovations and was not open yet. Hopefully it will still be a store! We will always come here every year.

Quiet, safe, family friendly near San Francisco

Family friendly, easy hiking, creek running through, clean but old bathrooms, spacious sites, only 2 bathrooms with showers, a few steep hills, rangers and small camp store on site. About 20 mins from small town, about 1/2 hr from Pescadero State Beach, about 45 mins from Half Moon Bay, about an hour from San Francisco…all estimates without traffic, of course. Some sites are very private, some right on top of each other.

big trees and shade

I was here a week ago for the first time. Some of the sites are close together, and the loops are confusing and very tight, but once you get in it’s really sweet! there’s a building that has a generator going all night so if that kind of thing bothers you pick a site away, also no dogs are allowed and no smoking if that’s important to you. I found it to be amazing and wished I had booked more nights, though it’s a bit on the pricey side. Only 4 stars because no dogs allowed.

Great Group site

My Church had a Daddy and Kids campout a few weeks ago here. We reserved one of the big group campsites and it was awesome. Plenty of room to set up multiple tents and lots of parking for vehicles. There is a little creek that's only about a quarter mile hike down a trail. The campground is only a 10 minute drive down to Pescadero State Beach so we went there after we broke camp. The kids all loved it.
