Camping options in the North Little Rock, Arkansas area range from urban riverside sites to more remote wooded settings. Downtown Riverside RV Park provides full hookups directly on the Arkansas River with easy access to the Clinton Presidential Library via a pedestrian bridge. Little Rock North KOA offers tent, RV, cabin and glamping accommodations just north of the city, while Camp Robinson Dispersed Site provides primitive free camping for those seeking a more rustic experience. Burns Park campground, though temporarily closed due to tornado damage, has historically been a popular option within city limits.
Most campgrounds in the region are open year-round with Arkansas's relatively mild climate making camping accessible in all seasons. Concrete pads are common at the more developed sites, providing level surfaces for recreational vehicles. "Great location, walkable to downtown. Good WiFi, great reception," reported one visitor about Downtown Riverside RV Park, highlighting the urban convenience many sites offer. Some facilities maintain gated access for security, particularly those in urban settings. Reservations are recommended for most developed campgrounds, especially during spring and fall when weather conditions are most favorable. While some dispersed camping is available, it generally offers minimal amenities and may require visitors to be fully self-contained.
Several visitors emphasize the riverfront views and access as key highlights of camping in this region. The Arkansas River serves as a focal point for many campgrounds, offering scenic views particularly at night when the downtown lights reflect on the water. Campers note the convenience of being able to walk to downtown attractions from Riverside RV Park. One reviewer described it as "a great central location for visiting attractions on both sides of the river by car, bike or on foot." Urban camping predominates in the immediate North Little Rock area, with more natural settings available as you travel farther from the city center. While most developed campgrounds provide full hookups for RVs, tent campers have fewer options directly in the city but can find accommodations at facilities like the KOA or by venturing to more distant state parks and public lands.
"By looking at the Arkansas River you would think the east side of the river would all be considered North Little Rock or Little Rock. Maumelle is on the west side of the Arkansas."

Facilities look dated, but staff was great. Had an electrical problem on our pole after we were already set up and working. Allowed us to use neighboring site electricity, and started fixing ours. Lots of mature trees. Right off interstate so decent amount of road noise, but not a big deal.
There is no lake. At the end of a rock and gravel road, that is easy to navigate you come to the end of the road where the lake used to be and there’s a dirt Sirkel drive I’m in a 16 foot transit van with a cargo carrier attached and it was very easy for me to navigate. It might be a tight turn for a large trailer in the middle of the turn is a stack of cinderblocks and what looks like somebody tried to make into a fire pit by using an old pallet. It was a free quiet place to spend the night, but I wouldn’t spend more than a night there.
Nice, spacious, clean rv park with solid amenities. Very near lots of outdoor activities and Hot Springs National Park
Been camping here for a few years now. Quiet at night. Clean bathroom and showers. Campground a little rocky and hilly. Some sites need some attention, minor water dripping or damage to facets mostly great place. Wonderful hosts. Gary and Michele. Good price.
Sites have full hook ups, lots of trees for shade, quiet since no generators needed, beautiful grounds, amphitheater, group fire circle with permit, hikes accessible from campground, stream passes by, clean restroom and free shower with access code provided on reservation confirmation, friendly host, only five minute drive to Hot Springs town where Hot Springs National Park Visitor Center bath houses are located. One night at site 24, which had a slope in the back in driveway, which was noted on the reservation confirmation but fine for one night in a van, also site 9, perfect. Picnic table, fire ring, and tent pad, although fire band in effect end of September/ early October 2026. Good Verizon service.
Road is just boulders and is washed out
We stopped to camp here on a Sunday night because it was convenient to where we were headed. It is off the beaten path so it was nice and quiet. There were only a few campers but although there is a beach that had families playing and swimming, it cleared out by 7PM. Our campsite was nice but the ground was hard and full of rocks, which made tent stakes useless, but our tent will function without them. The facilities were old and dated but they were clean and neat and the family who owns the campground were really nice and friendly. All in all, a good experience and a restful nights sleep for $30 a night.
Big campground with a lot of lake views. Not as quiet as I usually like. Just a lot of traffic from day use areas I guess.
