Sweet Escape RV Resort contains 34 sites with both 30-amp and 50-amp service, water and sewer connections, plus amenities like a dog park and fishing ponds. Catherine's Landing

    Very Nice, Lots of Amenities

Catherine’s Landing is a great RV park with lots of amenities and things happening. This park is an RVC Outdoor Destination property which is known for their “resort” amenities. The park is set on 400 acres with one mile bordering Lake Catherine and about eight or nine miles from downtown Hot Springs.

All roads, sites and patios are paved and this is definitely a big rig-friendly park. Every site has water, 50/30 amp, sewer, cable, and wifi. Fire pits and picnic tables accompany all sites. There are a variety of sites ranging from waterfront back-in, pull-thrus, or interior back-in. Waterfront sites have a nice view of the lake from the back of the site and access for fishing. The park also has yurts and cottages (some of which are pet-friendly). Adjacent to the yurts is a nice, large covered picnic area with grills, a dish washing station.

Lots and lots of amenities here. Hiking trails, swimming pool, fitness center, lounge, playground, dog park, zip-line, boat rental, boat launch, store, and disc golf. Some amenities (boat rentals and zip-line) are an extra charge.

Hot Springs is a nice little town nestled in the Ouachita Mountains with interesting history and natural beauty. We found plenty to do from hiking the National Park to learning about the bathhouse history to discovering the gangster influence. We spent four nights and could have stayed longer with all that the town offers. Most people come here to bathe in the soothing warm mineral waters but there is also a horse racetrack, science museum, off road track, water/theme park, alligator farm, and a few museums. Hot Springs National Park has miles and miles of great hiking trails and a great place to spend an afternoon. The town of Hot Springs is very dog-friendly and we found many places that would allow them in and on the patio for lunch.

    Pros:

    • Very nice, clean, well-manicured
    • Lots of amenities
    •  Paved level sites with paved patios
    • The dog park was a decent size for running and mingling with other dogs
    • The hiking trail(about 3 miles) was a big plus and got used a lot.

    Cons:

    • Price. We booked late and didn’t have too many sites to choose from we had to pay for a waterfront site

Petit Jean State Park — Petit Jean State Park

    Fantastic State Park

Camped here on May 1, 2025. This is one of my favorite state parks in the USA. Lots to do here. Fantastic hiking trails - rated from easy to difficult. Since I live only 45 minutes from this park, I normally come here for the day for hiking. This time, I got around to trying out the park's campground. This popular campround is divided into 4 areas - A through D. There are a total of 125 campsites, including 26 pull-through sites. Thirty-five of the sites are Class AAA sites which have 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer hookups. There are 90 Class B sites offering 30 amp electrical and water hookups. All sites are reservable. Tent and hammock camping is possible depending on the sites. I camped at site 103 in Area D. The staff at the office helped me pick this site for my campervan. The site had water and 30amp service. The restroom/shower house was clean and well maintained. The campsite itself was dated but clean. The site was large and had trees around it offering a little bit of privacy. The pull-thru drieway was close to the campground road. The site included a picnic table, tent pad, lantern pole, metal fire ring, and grill. Solar charging and Starlink connectivity may not be possible at this site; Area C has an open sky above it. There was some road noise from vehicles driving on Petit Jean Mountain Road which is behind the site. Received good AT&T 5G cell service, but little to no T-Mobile 2G service.  Areas C and D are in the woods. Most of the sites in these areas are on the small size but should easily accomodate a truck camper and smaller. Not all sites are level. Areas A and B can accomodate large rigs and towables.

    Red River RV Park

    Nice clean, small RV park

Nice clean, small RV park at Highway 67/167 and CW Road in Judsonia, one exit north of the Searcy Race Street exit. 30 spaces total with 3 pull through sites. No internet or laundry on-site but the electrical set up is good. Water and sewer are in good locations but the water connection box was holding water during our stay. Daily, weekly, or monthly rates available. My Verizon LTE hotspot averaged between 5 and 10 Mbps down and 0.8 to 1.6 up. My Verizon 5g phone averaged 75 to 85 Mbps down and 28 to 35 Mbps up. One of my neighbors was on a T-mobile 5g hotspot and was consistently over 50 Mbps download.

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

    Unique RV Experience

At first entrance it appears as if you are entering a large parking lot. There is a large pavilion to picnic and pet area by the water. Each site requires a 50 amp but the office will offer one for purchase if you need a 50 to 30 amp connections. The center lot is for pull through sites the other site areas non-pull through by water and fence. The fence area is close to the bridge but could be limited with views since it is far away from the water and Class A frequent area.

    Two things I love:

    1. The unique downtown riverside views
    2. The ease of getting to this RV park even though it is downtown Little Rock.

    H&G RV campground

    We really liked it!

An overnight stop on our route. Gary was great, most helpful and it was a pleasure talking with him. This is a rather small campsite and I recommend advanced reservations. Two pull through sites that do not have sewer hookups but there is a dump station if needed. Electrical hookups are 50 amp so have an adapter if you need 30 amp service. I’d certainly recommend it.

Gulpha Gorge Campground — Hot Springs National Park

    Beautiful, clean, great location

Beautiful, clean, great location. Camped here in Feb 2020, right on the river. Full hookups, mostly back-in but some pull throughs. Paved, level. Tent sites, too. Clean bathrooms, little camp store. Close to town. Would camp again.

    Hot Springs National Park KOA

    Clean with a dog park

D26 Back-in full hook-ups, fire ring & picnic table. 2 nights - Memorial Day weekend. Good spot, close to bath rooms/shower house/cafe. Pretty level - just 1 leveling block was all we needed for our pop-up. Lots of amenities- cafe, fishing pond, small general store, playground and off leash dog area. Staff was very friendly. Escorted you to your spot and helped us back in. Shower house was always clean. Loved the dog park! We are just starting to travel with our 2 boxers and was so nice to have an area for them to run a bit. Cons - spots are very close, no privacy. Each spot has a very bright “porch” light that is on until Midnight

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

Parking lot but close to downtown.

Talk about great location in a great town. We usually do not like camping in cities this big but wanted to come here to visit the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. And what a great location this park is to downtown Little Rock and the library. There is a pedestrian bridge that takes you over the Arkansas River to downtown and all the attractions; as well as, some great restaurants and a vibrant downtown.

This campground is essentially a parking lot.  There is no shade and our air conditioners ran non-stop since we were there in July.  There is a grassy area in front along the river that is a common area for you to enjoy the night sky. The riverfront is beautiful at night with the downtown lit up at night. Sites include 50 amp electric, water and sewer. There is also a dump station and WiFi. Some of the riverfront sites have been upgrades to concrete pads and some sites are pull-thru sites. The restrooms were clean and washers and dryers are on-site. The park takes any kind of RV from pop-up to Class A but does not accept tents. The price we paid was definitely reasonable at$22/night(with tax) but they also offer numerous discounts.

Downtown Little Rock is a great town with plenty to do, see, and eat. The great things about this park are that it is convenient to the interstate and a great price. For the location, you would expect to pay a lot more. We loved walking to town at night and enjoying the restaurants and breweries that bring the downtown to life. The weekly farmers market was a highlight and the Presidential Library is not to be missed.

Guide to North Little Rock

North Little Rock, Arkansas camping options stretch along the Arkansas River offering sites for RVs of various sizes. Located at approximately 300 feet above sea level, the area experiences humid subtropical climate with hot summers reaching 90°F and mild winters rarely dropping below freezing. The Arkansas River creates a natural boundary between North Little Rock and Little Rock, with several riverside campgrounds offering direct water access.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Willow Beach campground offers fishing along the Arkansas River. "I would definitely stay again but next time I'm bringing a fishing pole," notes Nicole F., highlighting the popular fishing spots along the shoreline.

Pedestrian bridge access: Downtown Riverside RV Park provides direct access to downtown Little Rock via a pedestrian bridge. "There is a pedestrian bridge accessed through a security gate that crosses the river and arrives at the Clinton Library and park. It was so nice to stroll through after a day of driving," shares Pam R.

River watching: Enjoy watching commercial river traffic from your campsite. At Tar Camp, "We could watch the tug boats with their barges go by. Not many campers here right now so it's quiet," according to Angela G.

Walking routes: Several parks offer walking paths with river views. Gary I. notes, "We enjoy walking and the nearby pedestrian bridge makes it handy to get over to town. Once across you can take a nice town/parks walk and come back on another pedestrian bridge further down the river."

What campers like

Spacious sites: Many campers appreciate the well-spaced sites at Willow Beach. "Large sites, not piled in on each other like RV parks. It's a clean campground outside the city, can't beat it for the price," writes Justin M.

Level camping areas: Site conditions are notably level at some campgrounds. Jo E. reports, "The sites are extremely level! I didn't even need to level my pop-up camper!!"

River views: Waterfront sites offer scenic views of the Arkansas River. "Beautiful campsite along the Arkansas River. The sites are all very spacious with very long back in driveways," Kelly E. shares about Willow Beach.

Urban accessibility: RVers appreciate the proximity to city attractions. "Right on the river, this city owned rv park is close to everything. And you can walk across the bridge to the Clinton Library," notes Troy about Downtown Riverside.

What you should know

Seasonal closures: Some parks close during winter months or for high water. "Was a great park at one time with a boat ramp and bathrooms. Nice spot to camp with plenty of wildlife. Hope they reopen soon. WAS INFORMED 11-1-2020 That they will be opening March of 2021," Steve S. mentions about Tar Camp.

Limited amenities: Not all parks offer full facilities. Beth R. notes about Downtown Riverside RV Park, "Pros: Full hookup (sewer, water, 50 AMP), Concrete, level pads, Overlooks the Arkansas River, Large Pavilion, Gated RV park, Easy access to downtown Little Rock AR. Cons: Limited amenities."

Wildlife encounters: Be prepared for wildlife, particularly near water. Jennifer C. cautions about Sweet Escape RV Resort: "We encountered lots of snakes. I shooed a few off the road and they disappeared as soon as they slithered into the grass, so to me it's pretty risky walking around or letting kids play in the grass."

Insect preparation: River proximity means insects. "It is near water so there are a lot of mosquitos, so come prepared," advises Kelly E. about camping at Willow Beach.

Tips for camping with families

Playground access: Some parks offer playground equipment. Jennifer C. notes, "Nice playground but it was taped off during our stay due to covid."

Fishing opportunities for kids: Several campgrounds offer fishing access without needing a boat. "This is a pretty campground with huge trees for shade. The water hyacinths were in full bloom while we were here and are beautiful!!" says Jo E. about the shoreline at Willow Beach.

Dog-friendly options: Gold Creek Landing RV Park and Sweet Escape welcome pets. "Very friendly campground. Many amenities including laundry, bathhouse, very nice showers, and large dog park. We really enjoyed the fishing ponds as well," writes Jessie J. about Sweet Escape.

Security features: Some parks offer additional security. Jennifer C. notes, "They lock a gate every night at the entrance to the campground, however they do give you the code to the padlock."

Tips from RVers

Site selection: For rv sites near North Little Rock, Arkansas, experienced RVers recommend waterfront sites. "We lucked into site 29 which was huge and right on the Arkansas River," shares Pam R. about Downtown Riverside.

Bathroom facilities: Check bathroom availability before arrival. "The only downside is the bathroom/shower rooms. There are four individual ones and they all feel like the heat is on in them when it is 100° here today. The toilet paper is out or almost out in all of them and there is no soap in any of the dispensers," notes Kelly E.

Concrete pads: Several RV parks offer concrete pads for easy leveling. "All the spots had large concrete pads," William M. reports about Downtown Riverside.

Distance from highway noise: Some RVers note the impact of nearby roads. Gary I. mentions, "Road noise not noticeable from inside our RV at nights so slept well."
