Large Spots

There are large pull through spots and people seem to respect your camping space. Its a wash board about 500 feet in and it smooths out a bit after that. There is fair Tmobile signal here. Saw a humming bird multiple times. They will fly right up to you and stare at you. Nice breezes at…

Interesting State Park

Homolovi SP was easy to find off I-40, just follow the signs. We went straight to the campground (CG) as the entry shack was not occupied. We should have gone to the Visitors Center and register first, which we did immediately after setting up, but we had reservations and our site number. The…

Great area if you don't mind a little noise

Turning onto FS-222 is probably the worst part of the road that we experienced. Decent gravel with some slight washboard. There are practically infinite camping spots out here, big rigs included.

We had checked out two other sites in the Flagstaff area before landing here. We liked the selection…

Pretty view and safe

It was somewhat busy, but still quiet. You can faintly hear a train at night. I felt safe in my rooftop tent, but did hear coyotes around midnight. The view was pretty.

Thank the Hopi tribe

This state park is beautiful and has lots to offer...hiking/biking trails...ruins to visit...as well as wildlife viewing...camp sites are easy back-in or pull thru...bath house is clean as well as showers...would love to spend more time but this is a one nite stop for now...

Handy and quiet

This park is just a short drive off I-40, but far enough the traffic and train noise are distant. All roadways and spaces are paved. The hook-ups are easy to access and spaces all appear relatively level. Although they have planted trees, it’s a lot of wide open space and sand. All spaces appear…

Rustic

Gravel sites, mostly level, water and electric, there is a dump and dumpster. Nice hidden away place great for a couple of nights. Trains at all hours though so if you’re picky about noise, this isn’t f you

aka, Forest Road 552 Dispersed Camping

Nice, quiet, very widely spaced sites We have a 36’ Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow and parked and dropped near the entrance, then went to scout for a site that would accommodate us. We found a site about a mile in or so, left on Schultz Pass Road and off of a little side road to the right…

Pleasant surprise

Was traveling west to Williams AZ and needed a break. Have been out a week and this is hands down the nicest place we've stayed. Glad we stopped here.

Great Small Park

Wonderful little state park. We had site #36. Good afternoon shade and morning sun. Pretty level. Very surprised at how quiet it is because it is pretty close to I40. Only 5 miles outside of Winslow.

Dump station and water fill at the entrance. Most sites have electric and water. No sewer at the…

Expensive but needed

We had to pull in here unplanned due to a sandstorm. Many 18 wheelers had to pull over. This is a sandy place, zero grass. There are a few trees to block the winds, showers, fenced dog area, trash, and landrymat/lounge. Paid $43 with discount for Good Sams.
