Being an Alabama native we usually try to camp outside of the state. I’m ashamed to say at 55 I have camped @ GSP for the first time.

ScoutWe have RV’d here several times and enjoy it each time. Love the history here as well as the various trails for hiking, biking, or horseback riding. Still can’t believe that this woodsy campground is minutes away from Mobile.
GuideWe have stayed here 4 times over the last 2 years. We keep coming back. It’s a good location for events in Mobile and Baldwin counties. Site are level and paved. All have FHU I believe. They have a nice little fishing pier. Boat and kayak launch. Bath houses clean and operated correctly. Hot water etc. You can hear traffic in Hwy 98 and I10 at night but was not an issue for us. Other have complained I have noticed. Tv antenna reception good from Mobile and Pensacola. About and hour drive to great beaches also.
ScoutThe primitive campsite was very nice. Even though the park was a bit crowded we still had privacy. The dog park was perfect for our two large dog, very clean. My toddler had a very easy time walking around which was a huge plus! The marsh trails were perfect for viewing wildlife. 10/10, would recommend!
GuideGreat customer service from the staff, no picnic tables, fun crowd, there’s a gym not a haircut place according to the website, dog park, they are renovating the bathrooms and reinvesting in the park to make it bigger with more spots, close enough to Dauphin Island. 
ScoutWe stayed at Deer Creek RV Park after returning from Florida headed back out west and this place is awesome. It is very conveniently located off I-65 and the park is very well kept, bathhouses are immaculate and very large. Has a dog park which our dog loved being off leash and owners are very nice, informative and can also recommend great restaurants around. They also have two other RV sites close to Gulf Shores and OWA in Foley. Highly recommend!
ScoutDecided on an impromptu trip here since Tropical Storm Eta ruined our plans to go to Disney. Spent 3 nights here. Not a lot of privacy between sites and the dog park could be bigger and more maintained (had to keep retrieving our tennis ball from rolling under one of the gates), but overall it wasn't bad.
GuideThis was our first visit to Gulf Shores State Park in Alabama. The check in was as slow as molasses even though they had lots of staff, mostly standing. Waited in line for 45 minutes with one person ahead of us taking her sweet time to book a future campsite. Our site was nice, spacious with privacy. We were worried about the alligators and snakes so kept pups on a short leash.
The beach was beautiful, with sandy white shores and lots of shells. However, if you have dogs, it's a no-go so they have to stay back at the camp. They do have a lovely dog park, right on the lake where dogs can run and swim, but the 'do not feed alligators' was a concern. Locals said they had never seen one in 15 years... so not sure and not sure I want my dog to be the exception.
We enjoyed the friendly, southern hospitality of the town and would definitely return. I would investigate other dog friendly places in the area.
RangerGreat atmosphere! Activities all weekend for all ages! The pool is awesome! Also has a big hot tub. The park is clean. There’s a dog park and they have a few small tubs of treats for the pups. The pool has extra beach balls to play with. Great place! We look forward to going back again soon. This is a newer RV park and it’s still in development but it is currently fully functional.
LegendThis is an all Inclusive RV Resort! Lots of spaces, but very few RVs when we were there. Sites are all concrete with easy access hookups. Not much shade. 2 pools, one adult only. Dog Park, laundry, tennis courts, gulf cart rental. They even have a business center. Walking trails connect to Gulf State Park. They do a lot of planned activities which can be annoying. Long term or short term sites available.
