GuideWe have stayed here 4 times over the last 2 years. We keep coming back. It’s a good location for events in Mobile and Baldwin counties. Site are level and paved. All have FHU I believe. They have a nice little fishing pier. Boat and kayak launch. Bath houses clean and operated correctly. Hot water etc. You can hear traffic in Hwy 98 and I10 at night but was not an issue for us. Other have complained I have noticed. Tv antenna reception good from Mobile and Pensacola. About and hour drive to great beaches also.
ScoutThe primitive campsite was very nice. Even though the park was a bit crowded we still had privacy. The dog park was perfect for our two large dog, very clean. My toddler had a very easy time walking around which was a huge plus! The marsh trails were perfect for viewing wildlife. 10/10, would recommend!
ScoutWe stayed at Deer Creek RV Park after returning from Florida headed back out west and this place is awesome. It is very conveniently located off I-65 and the park is very well kept, bathhouses are immaculate and very large. Has a dog park which our dog loved being off leash and owners are very nice, informative and can also recommend great restaurants around. They also have two other RV sites close to Gulf Shores and OWA in Foley. Highly recommend!
RangerWe stayed for the weekend. First thoughts were that it felt a bit cramped. We had an issue with the electrical that we couldn’t figure out, but one of the campground workers was very nice and tried to help us figure out the issue. We loved walking to the waterfront. My son enjoyed the basketball court. My kids loved the pool. It was quiet at night. The dog park consists of two fenced in areas which was nice because my dog gets bored quickly of the same area, so I alternated between the two. Overall it was a decent stay. The basic pull throughs do not have a fire pit, which sucked because it was chilly at night. The store was nice, as well. There is an entrance and an exit on opposite ends of the park - the exit is a bit tight and my husband was nervous to pull the camper that way. We noticed several people going out the entrance because it’s easier, just a heads up.
GuideThis was our first visit to Gulf Shores State Park in Alabama. The check in was as slow as molasses even though they had lots of staff, mostly standing. Waited in line for 45 minutes with one person ahead of us taking her sweet time to book a future campsite. Our site was nice, spacious with privacy. We were worried about the alligators and snakes so kept pups on a short leash.
The beach was beautiful, with sandy white shores and lots of shells. However, if you have dogs, it's a no-go so they have to stay back at the camp. They do have a lovely dog park, right on the lake where dogs can run and swim, but the 'do not feed alligators' was a concern. Locals said they had never seen one in 15 years... so not sure and not sure I want my dog to be the exception.
We enjoyed the friendly, southern hospitality of the town and would definitely return. I would investigate other dog friendly places in the area.
RangerThis RV park is tucked under the overpass and situated across from a golf course and next to a neighborhood. We were able to safely ride our bikes on the sidewalk to the public beach that wasn’t far at all. There’s also a public dog park/beach not far from the RV park. The little beach at the RV park is right where the house boats anchor and so it’s a little awkward to sit for a while as you feel you’re looking into their living room windows.
The pool is nice - there’s a shaded canopy area on the side of the pool.
Perdido Key is a very quiet town with not a lot to do and shuts down pretty early.
The public beach at the end of the road was hard to find a parking spot - very small parking lot with limited parking.
LegendThis is a nice RV Park with lots of ammenties, like shuffleboard, pickleball, basketball, social room, pool with cool slide and a dog park. Its pretty close to the highway, so you get road noise, but its not bad. The drive in is about 1/4 mile of dirt road, but the park is paved with decent sized gravel sites, patios, picnic table and firepit and there is a "lake" in the middle of the park. The park is surrounded by tall pine trees, which is really nice. It was pretty expensive, and is 15 miles from the beach (66 for one night including discount), so not sure that we'd be back, but their weekly and monthly fees arent so bad. Overall a very nice park.
LegendThis is an all Inclusive RV Resort! Lots of spaces, but very few RVs when we were there. Sites are all concrete with easy access hookups. Not much shade. 2 pools, one adult only. Dog Park, laundry, tennis courts, gulf cart rental. They even have a business center. Walking trails connect to Gulf State Park. They do a lot of planned activities which can be annoying. Long term or short term sites available.
