What you should know
Seasonal bathroom closures: Not all facilities remain open year-round. "Even though the campground is open year round, the bathrooms are not. We were told there was one open bathroom however it was not made clear this was 1-2 miles away," warns Jessica D. about Mash Fork Campground.
Wildlife encounters: Deer are abundant throughout the region. "I had so many deer along the roadways that loved to pose for pictures," mentions Tom H. about Twin Falls. Secure food and maintain control of pets.
Challenging access roads: Some campgrounds have difficult approach roads. "The road most map apps will send you to closes for part of the year. Even if you happen to come when it's open, trust me when I say take the longer route. It's as wide as a one-way street, has at least ten too many sharp curves, and is straight up the mountain," cautions Tiffany A.

Consider on-site attractions: Camp Creek State Park offers family-friendly features. "The hiking is difficult in some areas but spectacularly beautiful. The campground staff was very friendly, and the amenities were clean and kept up," notes Julie B.
Check for seasonal activities: Swimming options vary by location and time of year. "I didn't get to try the Chief Logan swimming pool, but it looked amazing with a giant slide, high dive and kiddie pool," mentions Jennifer B.

Site leveling challenges: Prepare for potential leveling issues at some campgrounds. "Most of the sites are wooded and would be a bit difficult for a rig our size but they are very nice," advises Marshall P. about Little Beaver State Park.
