The Most Beautiful Mountain Camp

Camp Holly is a beautiful campground in the mountains of West Virginia.. Off grid but they do offer Wifi.

You can choose between hammock, tent, cabin or RV camping, I would recommend tenting it down by the beautiful rivers. The owners are super sweet and more than accommodating.

Ok for a KOA

We prefer state parks but had to stay here at a KOA because of availability (Labor Day Weekend). My biggest complaint with KOAs is the tightness of the sites - this one was not bad. They had concert pads for the picnic tables (loved that). But we were in the first loop and we were far from the…

Beautiful scenery

Lovely campground. Not too noisy and gorgeous nature. Campsite 2 is across the path from the check in point and you are quite on display but on the other hand you have WiFi signal and are close to water and perfect distance from the campground.

Firewood and ice is available for purchase and there…

Camping on the Greenbrier River

The Greenbrier River RV Park campground was fine. It was right on the Greenbrier River and you could do float, kayak and canoe trips from the campground. There were full hook-up sites and tent sites (right on the river). The sites were pretty big and most were shaded. It was close (less than 15…

New River Campground

It was our first time staying here.  The sites were level and spaced out pretty well.  We were at site 12, which is close to the main road.  Surprisingly there was not a lot of road noise.  Firewood is for sale on-site and you get a good bang for your buck.   We look forward to coming back again…

Wonderful stay, but crazy roads leading to it.

Spent two nights here, with a full hook up on the edge of the New River. From bumper of my TT to the river was about 30ft. Shade trees and a light morning mist on the river made a beautiful sunrise.

Note, the drive from Rt 19 to the campground is 8% grades both uphill and down, with twists,…

Beautiful riverside sites

Deep into the New River Gorge, this location puts you right up to the river in question. With nearby hikes and an abandoned mining town (with visitor center!) just down the road, and for free, no less, this location is absolutely amazing.

Nice water views!

We stayed in Meador site 14, which was the furthest away from the bath house (still only maybe 150 yards), but it was on the water & was the most secluded (just meaning it's at the end of the row not between other spots). It was freshly mowed, had a fire ring, picnic table, & was right on…

Fun and Adventure for all

We state at the tent campsites for 4 days. Very clean and well kept. I will say the outhouses were a bit rough, but most are—a lot of hiking and sightseeing. I could not be there during prime trout season, so I didn't get any fishing in. I would recommend this state park.

Army camp

Was okay, didn't end up staying due to limited spots available. Close to water, sites are wooded. There are 10 drive up sites and 6 walk in sites.

Very clean and spacious.

This is my third review of The WV Pipestem state park campground.  There has been a lot of nice upgrades to the grounds and facilities ad well as things to do at pipestem since my last review a few years ago.  First off, now all the sites have electric and water, whereas before about half the…

Away but close

This site is tied to the hotel and you must park at hotel prior to entry. There are pull-in sites with full site hook ups at location. The views once hooked up are gorgeous but this is a tight fit especially for those with slides.

Two things I loved:

  1. Very clean well maintained site with…

Not bad

Great Campground, for tent campers there are vaulted toilets that are normally clean! We have returned here year after year. The upper sites you can get a faint ATT signal. The only downside is that during peak times( holidays etc) there were a bunch of sites with generators running all night…

Beautiful Lake Camping

Moncove Lake is a State Park in West Virginia right over the Virginia border and about 40 mins from Lewisburg in Gap Mills, WV.  This park is off the beaten path, so be prepared to drive a ways on country roads to get there.

Quiet mountainside camping

Great little campground in the middle of WV. Just off Highway 79 but far enough away you feel like you are in the wilderness. The campground has 4 distinct areas for rigs which keeps it from feeling it is a RV parking lot. Most sites are pull through with full hook ups. You check in at the hotel…
