Summersville Lake Retreat & Lighthouse

The staff here is wonderful. You check in in a fantastic little gift shop adjacent to the lighthouse The gift shop has everything from mugs to camping needs.. and a lovely selection of local wine (seasonally) The lighthouse who's moved here by the last owners and designed interiorly by local students there is a person on staff and the area is password-controlled we tent camped it was very safe there was a low number of animals from what we could see they had accommodations of small campers for up to four people and then they have several regular size lodges they have a firewood service until 7:00 p.m. where they deliver would directly to your site and charge it to your listed card... absolutely a return spot

We had a great time here. A very clean, peaceful, and enjoyable campground. The staff were amazing and will definitely be back soon! Our site worked out but if your entry door is at the back of the camper you could have troubles, other than that we lived it.

We loved this campground. Very central location to everything. Super dog friendly, clean bathrooms, and everyone who works there were great. We loved our site plenty of space and were not on top of our neighbors.

Dave and Kim are great people, have a beautiful and well cared for campground very close to the Gauley River.

I’m 42 yrs old and I’ve been camping at Summersville Lake since shortly after I was given birth too( no joke)! Therefore I’ve been camping at Summersville for my whole life! The camping is perfect, the lake is gorgeous, and the memories we’ve made over all these years can never be forgotten! It’s without a doubt a place to enjoy yourself and the amenities are top notch! Just thinking about it, makes me want to pack up and go!

First time at Summersville to camp. Great atmosphere and good amenities. Camp sites spread out enough to where campers are not directly on top of each other. However, their guest policy is a little annoying, have to register them in before 8 pm and not able to pay for your guests in the morning if the guests arrive late (my guests were going to come and probably not stay the night, but there was a chance that they could stay).

Nice and quiet but no amenities. The bathrooms weren’t in any where close to great shape. The sites are pretty close. The staff is really nice though.

This place is an awesome private campground with the exception of hills & roots in their camping spots. It's to be expected since you are in the hills. Their bathrooms & showers are cleaned and well maintained. They have an outdoor sink to wash dishes. RV camping as well. A great playground too for the kids. Just bring hammocks or extra padding to sleep. Super friendly and quiet place. Summersville is a pretty lake. Fayetteville is close & a really cute town. Bridge Day happens at a near bye bridge over the New River.
