Great campsites

The campsites here were great! Perfect for everyday camping with lots of activities around the area, including beaches, hiking trails, a park, and more. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the area!

Two night stay

Great camp ground and it was so empty here! Huge lots that are very level. Hiking and biking. Pool and beaches.

Beautiful and remote, yet accessible

This campsite was gorgeous. We stayed at camp 2 which is at the top of a very steep hill but close to water and very private. We also liked camp 4 because the clearing was nice with several stumps to sit on. Wouldn’t recommend camp 3 or 5 because they were visible to the main trail. We camped in…

Tulip Loop, full hookups!

We took our 1st trip to Point Lookout the 1st week of June, glad we did. Tulip Loop has full hookups which was great, but the sites are basically in a swamp. I think we were there before the mosquitos. I'm sure with all the standing water they'd be everywhere!! We didn't have much cover from trees,…

Williamsburg trip

Although, the cabins were nice the campground was not maintained. The staff is not courteous and the prices for the stay way tooo high. We paid 150 for two nights for a primitive tent site with garbage in a can that was never picked up during our whole time there. There was also feces at one…

Williamsburg Trip

My familiy and I just camped at Wiliamsburg KOA for 3 days. The campground was large and clean. We had a site at the end of a row that was spacious. The staff was nice and  courteous. They seemed to patrol through the campground periodically and were trying make sure that campers followed rules of…

Pretty and relatively private sites

Cedarville State Forest is located in Charles Co., MD. It's near Waldorf which offers amenities that you might need. The campground is one loop with 27 mostly spacious sites. Some of the sites were not well tended and had tall grasses while others seemed better groomed. Most were level but some…

Hot Spring Trip

Very hot for an early spring trip. Not much shade in the sites here. The trail isn’t shaded either. Store & museum still closed, because of covid I guess. Staff very nice. Camp hosts are pretty much nonexistent as compared to other MD State Parks. I think we’re in a swamp. I assume mosquitos…

Third visit, new site

This backcountry area truly is a hidden gem in the DC area. For those just learning to backpack or camp in dispersed or unmaintained areas, this is perfect. The hike in takes about 30-45 minutes from the parking lot that has a portable restroom. Site 2 is up on a hill, which we picked because it…

Great first camp!

Never been camping before- drove in, stayed in Hoffman’s loop. Easy walk to the bathrooms and camp store, 20-ish minute walk to the beach- beach was a huge plus for us. Not too crowded! Bathrooms were also very clean.

Great place for a quick getaway

We just got back from spending the weekend here. We chose to spend our weekend tent camping and could not have been happier with our decision. My daughter LOVED being able to walk all trails. We were a bit disappointed the boardwalk was closed (but we still loved walking the rest of the trails).…

Great park

I have been here a few times with my family. We usually stay in site A because it’s not far from the camping store where the wood is. The wood is $6 and it is the honor system after hours. If you go to the camping store while it’s open you can pay for the wood with credit card. The bathrooms are…

Great Campsite

This campsite was great! Its a nice site if you want to see both woods and water. At the site, I was able to see the woods while relaxing. I also loved that the sites are also spaced apart. There is also a beach trail which had a nice view of the Potomac River. The bathhouse was not the best but it…

Great Proximity to Richmond

We’re originally from Richmond and needed a centrally located campground to spend 5 weeks in our class A while taking care of some things in town. (We’re full time travelers in our motorhome.) The location is the best in the Richmond area for a full hookup campground for a large RV. It’s right off…
