Thousand Trails Harbor View

Would give it 4 stars for the hookups and friendly staff but we were welcomed to our site with pile of dog poop that had been left there. Gravel site pad could definitely use some maintenance and fresh material added. Had to put down boards to park our travel trailer because about a third of the pad had just turned into mud.

Great thousand trails park!

Staff is super friendly! She worked with us with a wonky schedule and answered all of our questions. They have Saturday night communal bonfires, but we didn’t go check that out.

Nearby Colonial Beach is a cute area that has nice waterfront access. We also loved going to Westmoreland park which was practically next door to Harbor View. Great trails and fossil beach was fun.

Site was spacious, level and shady. The site next to ours had perfect hammock trees too!

We travelled in our 33 ft tt. I work full-time remote and the Verizon service was perfect with our hotspot.

Only even slightly negative thing to say - If you have allergies, avoid spring. EVERYTHING outside was covered in a light haze of pollen. I worked outside several days and had to wipe my computer off a couple times a day. Nothing to be done for it, but thought I’d mention it. Luckily neither of us have super bad allergies.

We will absolutely be back!

Nice place

Nice campground, friendly staff Joe was great. Greeted us when pulling in, did not make it into office, took us to our assigned site, asked if needed anything fire wood etc. They also called and told us going to be a cold this night and make sure arrive before dark as can not get in after dark.

Sites are downright intimate

The title says it all, the sites are extremely close. Tent campers are an absolute afterthought here, as the sites are in the back and the bathhouse is in the front. But hey, if you can afford a literal house on wheels, you might enjoy this place. The amenities are nice I guess.

Shady, quiety, close

We stayed here for two nights at the end of April. All the sites are very shady, which certainly comes in handy in the Virginia heat. They are also very close together--our slide was almost touching our neighbor's slide. Everybody was super friendly and we felt very comfortable letting our kids go over to the playground by themselves. There is a small pond on the property. The harbor you can see is private property and not very nice to look at--better to drive out to Colonial Beach.

George Washington would’ve stayed here.

Nice campground with all the amenities. Pool, laundry, bath houses, FHU, 50 amp. The sites are big enough, maybe a little right in some places. Most are nestled under the trees, so good shade during summer. Right down the road from George Washington’s birthplace.

Nice and quiet

There aren’t that many amenities but it is nice and quiet. The pool is a nice size and includes a kiddie pool. There is a playground with lots of picnic tables and a putt putt (small fee) that’s is close. There is a basketball court and nice paved roads to ride bikes on. The spaces are CLOSE, but the bathrooms are very clean! Very close to Colonial Beach.
