GuideSince we discovered this place back in May, we can’t stop coming here! It’s the best weekend getaway…I camped here two weekends in a row and planning to go back again today. I bought a Starlink mini just so I can stay longer and work from there. Photos are of my last two weekends. The sunsets, the moon out during the day, and the stars at night…just incredible!
I’ve heard bears pulsing…didn’t see them though. I carry my bear spray at all times and I hope I never have to use it. I’ve hiked and it’s been great. I’ve seen plenty of chipmunks and even had two elk run past my campsite. Such a peaceful and serene place…especially at night when the OHV and dirt bikers sleep. But they are fine and very respectful.
GuideOur first time here we secured a fantastic spot in the higher elevation. Great escape from the SLC Valley heat…a short 1.5 hour drive and temp drops 20 degrees from the valley. We were here in late May and there was still snow in places and some roads impassable…but we found a premise spot to watch the sunset and camp with a fire. There are OHV’s and dirt bikes during the day, but kind of cool to watch!

Also to highlight this is WALK IN camping only. No car camping or RVs as it requires you to be 1/2 mile off the road (as signs and listing indicated)
RangerWe’re locals who stayed over Independence Day weekend.
Our South Dakota family surprised us with a visit here and though MANY places were booked this weekend we got a last minute spot across from our family— this place is very accommodating!
Valley View is almost across the street from Hill AFB — which could be good or bad depending on what you’d like but I bet this would be the best stay during the biennial air shows! It is also on the higher side of the valley so you get great views to the south.
The amenities are incredible and we had a blast enjoying the pool and doggy areas.
The one downside I had with this place was that other “campers” were rather dirty. There was dog mess left behind all over the doggy run and random spots all over the park. We also, unfortunately, got a spot with a dumpster in our “front yard,” and people would leave garbage hanging out of the bin or even pile it on the ground around the bin.
We’re in a 33’ bumper pull & a ram 2500 and fit very well into spot 120 but there were many rigs much larger than ours.
GuideWe couldn’t find any information on this campground and found out it’s only a month old, as of July 2025. Previously it was a tent only campground that was ruined by a flood several years ago. It’s now an RV campground with full hook-ups. The campground is very clean and fully functional. The views are fantastic, located on the east side of Jordanelle. The Provo river is runs to the side of the campground and we fished multiple times a day. There’s a launching bay to Jordanelle just a few minutes away. Everything was fantastic except for one uncontrollable thing. MOSQUITOS! I’ve camped in Utah my whole life and this was by far the worst mosquito situation we had. We are covered in hundreds of bites and are totally welted. We were forced to spend many hours in our RV to avoid them.
ScoutThis campground is a weedy field right next to the interstate for $25. Sites are like parking at a music festival, little to no shade in the sites, no picnic tables in the sites, fire rings old burnt out cut barrels, and very little to no privacy at all. There is a communal picnic shade area but that is not my vibe when camping. I could see it working for a single desperate night for RVs but not for a extended stay. We ended up not staying because of the vibe and the sound of the interstate ( I couldn’t image sleeping in a tent there!) Drove up the road and got a Holiday Inn instead.
ScoutOk, so we specifically camped up in the “P” section so my review is for that.
While hauling everything out there was not fun on a hot day, it was so nice to camp away from the RV’s. It was just families and their tents which made for such a fun atmosphere.
The trains are definitely loud and it’s a nice long walk to the bathroom (which was always clean and air conditioned), but we would stay here again.
GuideStayed for an overnight on our way to Grand Teton. We stayed mid week and were the only people on the Mtn. Didn’t have to go all the way to the point given by app. Pulled off the first dispersed sites and there were 10 sites unoccupied.
Dirt road was a little rough, bumpy, but we made it just fine I wouldn’t take a car up but any SUV or Van would make it.
